Just received credit card statement from citibank. Note that with effect from 1 mar onwards, the 3% additional rebate will be changed to 3% upfront discount. However, the additonal discount will not be given if one is using vouchers. Sigh... I thought all along i'm enjoying 5% + $3 vouvher + 3% rebate + 5% dividend rebate....

This was reported in the TNO on Sunday, 6/29/2008 He Returns To Find Cops Waiting By Car Summary : Driver return to car 3 hours later to find the police were waiting for him at the kiosk. Reason was parking within the kiosk for a prolonged period without any valid reason. In the end no action was taken against the driver except adviced to refrain from parking there again. Driver's reason : Its not the first time he has done so. He claimed to have been a regular customer at Esso and also claimed to have know most of the pump attendants. On that day, the driver at around 6pm had filled up the tank at the station. He then parked the car and walked over to the nearby HDB visiting his mother-in-law. The driver stated to the newspaper that he had parked without causing any obstruction. That means he came back at about 9pm. The driver claimed that he found it hard to get a parking space at the block. Driver's reaction : Reactively he was embarassed. He claimed that he was not told or forewarned not to park within the station for a unreasonably long time. Kiosk Manager's reason : For security and safety guidelines and for business reason at the station. The manager claimed to have previously informed the driver but unfortunately went unheeded. Kiosk reaction : Could have wheelclamped but resisted instead called police for help. Lesson learnt? I doubt. The offending driver gotten off scot-free. Public monies wasted when police responsed and no action taken against driver when it is clear who is at fault.

Hi, Saw the Citibank Ad, which says 8% rebate at Esso. Hence, net discount, including station discount is 12.6% (5% + 8%x95%). Looks like this is the best deal for Esso ? Your comments please..

Planning for my 40K servicing. Went to Song Yi to get spare parts Air con filter = $20 Air filter = $10 Oil filter = $4 Asked Song Yi any recommendation on servicing agent and they recommended Gary from Esso station along lavender road (opposite the eminent plaza) called Gary and his quote is quite reasonable (around $25 for the basic servicing) and he mentioned that he gets his parts from Song Yi and the price is the same (which is a plus as song yi prices are quite good) can i ask the board has anyone sent his chevy to gary for servicing before, how was it? I am driving Aveo 1.4 Auto, gary mentioned that i need to change my automatic transmission oil as well, is it necessary? thank you and best regards

How many of you use DBS Esso Mastercard when you pump at Esso? At the same time, how many use this Card as your primary spending card for non-petrol items? I am thinking of doing that but am concerned that this Card's reward perks and merchant tie-ups may not be as good as UOB or HSBC credit cards. Used to accumulate a lot of HSBC points due to Caltex, but because i am switching to Ron-92 ESSO petrol, hence startng to use DBS Esso Mastercard now....

Some questions for those who have this card thru U Drive. Do we need to be a Citibank account/credit card holder in order to apply for it? How do we make payment on the fuels if we dont have to be a Citibank account holder? Can we charge to other credit cards together with the Easipay Card or we can only use the Easipay card with the bill being send to us every month? How do we pay payment on the monthly bill in that case? Thanks.

Citibank card + Mobil/Esso = Best Petrol combi now?

Just read in my credit card bill that there's on-going promo with Mobil/Esso. From now till 30th June... additional 3% rebate discount. So for my platinum dividend card, I get 5% + 3% = 8% total rebate when I top up at Mobil. On top of site discount of 9%, total = 17%. Somemore got Smiles points. Not bad yeah? Can anyone verify? -

Wah Seh !! I am getting old oredi. Used to pump with the old tyre pump that has the needle, meter and a side-turn knob. Today , go into ESSO and see the new digital pump. Blur like Sotong. My tyre 195/50/R15 ... pump what pressure har in kPA ? 180 ?? 190 ?? 200 ?? I know how to read psi but not kPA.
