  1. Hi guys, My 2009 Fielder's cooling coil is leaking. So I'm looking around for resources and some info. Probably will check with a few shops on monday but was thinking of asking if anyone with the above models have had similar issues and how much was the cost of repair? I've called 2 shops which are opened today and found that this model is more expensive than Toyota Altis which is around $330-$350. I'm probably also going to call up a few stockist to see if I can buy the coil directly but sometimes for such aircon parts it's difficult cos if it's leaking then everyone will be pushing the blame around. so probably will still go to 1 shop and get it all done.
  2. Yes. I did it !!! I ownself repair my car aircon - Change Evaporator (Cooling Coil) ($130), Discharge Hose ($45) and Compressor ($230). I bought new tools like Manifold Gauge, Quick Release Connector and 1/2" ACME Valve - $50, Vacuum Pump - $130. It take about 1.5 day to replace the Cooling Coil and 4 hours to replace the Compressor and Discharge Hose. Yes, you can buy these small canister and ownself fill up. But, how much to fill up ? For my case, my car need 680g of 134a - 2 cans. Kaltech Engineering & Refrigeration Pte Ltd 9 Tuas Link 1 Singapore 638587 www.kaltech.com.sg - They sell 340g 12oz canister to 13.6kg cylinder to 20000 kg 134a Refrigerant. As for Manifold Gauge Set - www.aliexpress.com Compressor - www.aliexpress.com For Original KIA part - Buy Korea @ www.koraps.com The repair is quite extreme and very labour intensive. I don't recommend you do it, if you never even ownself change a serpentine belt before. I even added a tracer oil so the next time it breakdown (touchwood) I can trace the leak with a UV light.
  3. Sounds good to me! Read it from the usenet that it really works, and is much cheaper compared to replacing evaporators, especially hard-to-find ones or continental car ones. http://www.ssrintl.com/printed.asp?active_page_id=37 SSR
