  1. hi may i seek some advise on de-cat. so far, did anyone do it and pass inspection? from what i was told, de-cat is good and give extra bhp though not environment friendly. and those guys who 'operate', cut and clear on the top whereby it will looks good to pass inspection. was quoted $60. not sure if this is the correct price. and usually how many Cat does a car has? 1 or 3? was also quoted $250 for an aftermarket muffer with installation. thinking of going MAN to seek their opinions.
  2. My 2-year old car emits quite a lot of white smoke when starting in the morning. Running the engine after a while, then no more. I did not experience this situation when the car was newer. Is it normal?

  7. hi, I had brought a used Honda Stream RSZ 3 months ago and i had just went for LTA inspection. I was told my exhaust was operated as there were few wielding marks. I need to get stock exhaust(mid pipe & muffler), anyone willing to let go? Please contact me at 93801940. Thank you.
  8. Hi, Under what circumstances can LTA approved certain Exhaust system for specified car brand/model? Due to popular demand? Workshop? If specified workshop to propose certain exhaust system for specified car brand/model, does the workshop have to pay a certain amount for it to be approved? I'm actually thinking of getting reputated workshop to get submit exhaust system to certified exhaust system for Hyundai Avante and of cos, the demand for it must be met before i actually propose it to the workshop. Your input to this big question mark in my mind will be much appreciated.
  9. http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...tches_fire.html A STOMPer saw a man who locked himself in a parked car, and kept stepping on the accelerator until his exhaust pipe caught fire at Yishun. The man was apparently drunk, said the STOMPer. Said the STOMPer: "On Sunday (Jan 8) around 1pm, a man was stepping on the accelerator of his stationary car for a good 20 minutes non-stop. "Inside his car he was using his mobile phone and exercising in a lying down position . "He stopped ramming the pedal after there was visible fire from his car's exhaust pipe. "I called the police who arrived super fast with the entire SCDF team. "The man refused to open the door, but once the police officer took out his baton he opened it. "The Singapore police force was very efficient. "The man (in black) seemed to be drunk. "And since I live on the second storey of a nearby block, I could hear him saying that he was asleep in his car." A spokesperson from the police says: "Police received a call on Jan 8 at about 1.15 pm requesting for assistance at a carpark near block 132 Yishun Street 11. "It was established that an Indian man in his mid 20s was found sleeping inside his vehicle. "He was subsequently conveyed to KTPH for medical examination." 10. We see all sorts of modifications/alterations done to cars before, either for performance or aesthetics reasons and some of us who own cars might have done it to our own rides. One day while I was surfing the World Wide Web, I came across some photos of crazy and peculiar modifications/alterations done to cars. Let us take a moment to enjoy these photos. The first picture (above, top) shows a Pringles can attached to, probably, the air intake system of a car. Automakers spend billions of dollars doing research and development of car parts and components but the person who did this thought that a Pringles can, some duct tape and hose clamps can be a suitable part replacement. The next photo (above) was supplied to me by a friend. When I first saw it, I spent about half a minute laughing. The person who did this was most definitely doing it as a joke as six exhaust tips at the back box won

  14. Anybody encounter exhaust leaking very frequently? My leaking always come back after my trip back from malacca.
  15. Dear all Here below is the documented steps in doing your own exhaust wrapping. It involves patience and alittle prespiration. I'll keep the narration short. You'll see from the beginning I still have my old wrapping on and it's cracking up. It wasn't well done by the shop previously. I removed the old layer of skin and used a metal brush on the surface to remove loose debri. My material came as a sheet and it's not as superior as Thermotec but it works good enough. The contact surfaces of the gasket and the manifold and block has to be cleaned and prep for application of the hi temp silicon application later. The strips are cut at 2" wide and about one metre long and presoaked in water. Doesn't matter how long as long as it's wet thru. Remove, squeeze dry and start by the portion nearest to the block. It's easier to do from top to bottom rather than vice-versa. Once you'll got a strip secured, use binding wire to secure the ends and in the middle if you as particular as me. Upon completion, fit manifold back with the application of the hi-temp silicon available at most hardware stores at less than S$8. I used the silicon on both sides of the gasket pc that was stock on the vehicle. Once done, stand back and start her up. Dun fret when you see smoke. It's the water vapor from the heat on the manifold. It's gonna take sometime. (Half an hour of light driving around to remove the water completely. Have fun. Regards Lester

  17. Hi Bros just want to consult are there any exhaust for TS that can have the bassy sound? If yes where can i get it at a good price?(how much?) Also can increase the performance? Thanks in advance
  18. There are bread & butter cars (well, slightly 'higher' than B&B up the ladder, so to speak) which come with twine exhausts.......... i mean two SEPARATE exhaust 'boxes', one on the right, the other on the left. I can understand why high performance cars may need two separate exhaust, but why do normal cars need two also?? ....... if one is good enough for most other B&B cars, why bother to add weights to the car when one will do?? I have held an exhaust in my hands, it's not very heavy, but it's also not light.... Can any bro tell me the reasons why some normal cars need two exhausts please? In fact, some high performance cars (eg STi, E9 etc) just need one single exhaust ....
  19. Hi Guys, Am thinking of changing muffler and was suggested that adding a flange would make it convenient to swap mufflers. Would installing a flange on the exhaust automatically result in a failure during inspection? Any inputs or experiences with regards to this would be appreciated. Cheers :)

  23. I am driving a suzuki swift 1.5 aka ZC21... I used to have installed a illegal aftermarket exhaust and suddenly my engine light had turn on.. I went to a WS and they said something is wrong and told me to change back to my stock exhaust.. I am also using a HKS open pod filter.. the mushroom type.. Question regarding HKS: 1) Will my engine light turn on after I installed this exhaust? 2) Will I lose power to my pick up? as i heard aftermarkey exhaust are heavier.. 3) Will fuel consumption be affected? Thanks to those who reply back.. gladly appreciate it!
  24. My neighbourhood is suffering from pesky driver(s) with noisy exhausts. At least once or twice a week, I'll be having a when around or after midnight, some pest will go BBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRZZZZZZZMMMM down the street outside. Sometimes the pest will do a repeat performance at 5-6am. If I am willing to do a stake out and photo / film the pest(s) in action, which department should I file a report to?
  25. hi all... i need to know does a mid muffler effect power?... ok i know the tail muffler straight through will probably add 1-2 maybe 2-3bhp over a stock muffler... lets say the tail muffler is already straight through... will a mid muffler affect the exhaust flow and decrease bhp? or no difference even if it was a straight through from the extractors to the tail muffler... thanks...
