  1. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/cnainsider/army-fake-reviews-online-taobao-amazon-tripadvisor-sales-10448454 marketing strategy or a scam? i dont mind getting paid $1,600 a month just from writing them though... usually before buying stuff on taobao/ezbuy i'll read through the reviews first. esp in the case of ezbuy, it's easy to spot real from fake reviews. usually genuine ones will have actual product photos. and i would prefer to read reviews weighing both the pros and cons. if company A has 20 good reviews, it may just look dubious. but in any case, take any reviews with a pinch of salt. especially items from taobao. one man's meat may be another man's poison. it's the same for bloggers/influencer. they are paid to advertise and endorse products from their sponsors, if not how are they going to earn? though there are genuine ones out there. you usually see the new "influencers" or the less popular ones being more eager to say niceties about their sponsors. those are the ones you should avoid.

  5. We all know Santa Claus is not real but we all want to believe in him. Trump is the real president of America but those in America do not want to believe it. Any other true or fake news? http://www.straitstimes.com/world/united-states/ho-ho-hoax-story-of-terminally-ill-american-boy-dying-in-santas-arms-may-not-be KNOXVILLE, Tennessee - In the spirit of Christmas, Santa Claus himself might have just hopped on the fake news trend that has been taking the world by storm. Knoxville News Sentinel, part of the USA Today network, had reported about an incident in a local hospital, where a terminally ill five-year-old boy died in the arms of Santa Claus actor Eric Schmitt-Matzen a few weeks ago. The story went viral, and was picked up by major news networks. However on Wednesday (Dec 14), the paper published a note from editor Jack McElroy and the author of the original story, columnist Sam Venable, saying they have been unable to verify the story as accurate. "Since publication, the News Sentinel has done additional investigation in an attempt to independently verify Schmitt-Matzen's account. This has proven unsuccessful. Although facts about his background have checked out, his story of bringing a gift to a dying child remains unverified," said Mr McElroy and Mr Venable in the note. "Therefore, because the story does not meet the newspaper's standards of verification, we are no longer standing by the veracity of Schmitt-Matzen's account." The paper had reported the story on Sunday (Dec 11), after contacting and interviewing Mr Schmitt-Matzen, who has been playing Santa Claus for years at the local hospital, following a tip off by a "known source". He said a nurse had called him about the five-year-old's request to see Santa Claus, and that there was no time for him to change into his full costume. At the hospital, he gave the boy a toy and told him right before he died: "When you get there, you tell them you're Santa's No. 1 elf and I know they'll let you in." After the incident, he was so affected he said he thought he would never be able to play the role of Santa again. The Knoxville News Sentinel said that the 60-year-old wanted to protect the identities of the child's family and the nurse who called him. In follow-up interviews and video recordings by local and national television outlets, the 1.8m tall and 141kg Mr Schmitt-Matzen, president of Packing Seals & Engineering in Jacksboro, Tennessee, has stood by his account. pzeric12e_2x.jpg Related Story Terminally ill little boy dies in Santa's arms collage191116.jpg Related Story Can you tell the fake news stories from the real ones? Take our quiz vikram_3.jpg Related Story How to fight back against the scourge of fake news The note has been met with mixed views on the newspaper's Facebook post. Some believed in the legitimacy of the story, and gave Mr Schmitt-Matzen the benefit of the doubt. Facebook user Lynn Taylor Morgan commented: "I am disgusted. The family shouldn't have to come forward to verify this story. It's true. Period." However, there were also those who were wary, especially given the spread of fake news on the internet. Facebook user Jean Ash said: "I would hope the purported Santa or child's family would come forth. Otherwise, we must acknowledge a possible hoax. What a shame." TOPICS: CHRISTMAS CHILDREN AND YOUTH

  10. Went for a servicing promotion at a certain workshop. Too cheap to be true... Brand 'X' fully syn 5w40 selling at $110 and above at most workshops. But selling at only $35 nett at this workshop inclusive of oil filter. which means.. $15 for labour and $8 for oil fiter = $12 for 4 litre of engine oil fully syn (Brand 'X' is quite a known brand). Went to try thinking "how bad could it be?". So head down after making an appt, standard checks were done, oil drained etc etc. Then comes the part when they fill my oil. Suddenly the mechanic took out a very dirty opened engine oil bottle. So my first instinct was to stop him and asked him what was that? And there wasn't any 'Brand X' label on the bottle. He told me 'Brand X' was drawn from an oil drum through a pump and showed me where it was. The oil drum showed 'Brand X' but there wasn't any label on it. Just handwritten with a marker 5w40. So he told me he pumped out the oil from the oil drum to the spare bottle and fill it for me through the spare bottle. So i thought to myself, maybe it's a cost saving method. Fine with me. So i asked him, is it because it comes without the fancy packaging that's why its so cheap? Nope. he told me its a same as the main series except with lousier quality. Also, he said and i quote "So far no one complain." Right then i felt very uncomfortable with his reply so i went back home to google the distributor's number and called them asking if this practice is standard among workshops. Do they produce lousier quality oil of the same series in bulk? The convo between me and the distributor will be kept private. But they said they will investigate the matter. Just for your info, i am not complaining on the workshop hoping they get into trouble or whatever, my main intention for calling the distributor is to check if they are selling the oils by the barrel and that this oil is legit from Brand 'X'. Also, what rating and series is the oil in the barrel so that i can plan my next servicing. Thats all. and i am not asking for a refund etc. Just a peace of mind. The above is to let you know more about the situation so you can give your views. My question here is, are there recycled or fake engine oil circulating around? What do u think could be inside the oil barrel? Could it be cheap oil using Brand 'X' name as the cover? Anyone had similar experience mind sharing? On a fair note, the engine wasn't rough and it felt normal. Colour of the oil was a tad lighter but similar to all the normal engine oil. Note: It is very very unlikely (though not impossible) that they are running some super promotion. 1) They are not advertising the promotion openly at their shop and fb page. 2) my convo with the distributor strongly suggest so unless they decide to do some 'charity' work.

  16. its interesting what this girl did to fool everyone that follows her on FB and her family. abit boliao but she definitely proved her point to the whole. its time for the good old meet up sharing sessions instead of sharing only on FB. http://www.gapyear.com/news/230749/dutch-girl-fakes-a-trip-to-se-asia ....................Bending reality on Facebook is hardly unusual – in fact it’s turning into something of a life skill – but Zilla’s efforts seem to have taken things to a whole new level. The reasons behind her actions, however, are noble: it was all part of a university project, in which she wanted to show how Facebook activity is not necessarily reflective of real life. Speaking to media in her home country, she said: “I did this to show people that we filter and manipulate what we show on social media, and that we create an online world which reality can no longer meet. “My goal was to prove how common and easy it is to distort reality. Everybody knows that pictures of models are manipulated. But we often overlook the fact that we manipulate reality also in our own lives.”........................

What can i do to protect against them. This is too much for us to take it. 22. BEIJING (AP) -- Chinese police have broken up a criminal ring accused of taking meat from rats and foxes and selling it as lamb in the country's latest food safety scandal. The Ministry of Public Security released results of a three-month crackdown on food safety violators, saying in a statement that authorities investigated more than 380 cases and arrested 904 suspects. Among those arrested were 63 people who allegedly ran an operation in Shanghai and the coastal city of Wuxi that bought fox, mink, rat and other meat that had not been tested for quality and safety, processed it with additives like gelatin and passed it off as lamb. The meat was sold to farmers' markets in Jiangsu province and Shanghai, it said. Despite years of food scandals
  23. Humpday Humor: The Rise Of China's Counterfeit Condoms Submitted by Tyler Durden on 05/15/2013 15:45 -0400 Fake iPhones - who cares? Fake Gucci handbags - spread the wealth? But fake condoms is going too far. As China Daily reports, a underground workshop producing fake brand-name condoms was busted after police found clues on an online marketplace. Police confiscated more than 2 million bogus condoms labeled Jissbon, Durex and Contex. While a knock-off prophylactic is priced at 1 yuan (16 cents), it costs less than 0.2 yuan to produce. In February, police noticed that prices of brand-name condoms were unreasonably low on one online store, and they bought some products (just to check we are sure). As Bloomberg adds, in April, public health authorities from Ghana impounded more than 1 million substandard condoms, many of them imported from China.
  24. London, Apr 23 (ANI): When it comes to faking orgasms, women are very good at it, but a new study and a new book have both revealed that an increasing number of men fake it too. The study, by online pharmacy ukmedix.com, found 74 percent of women in the UK are faking and 22 percent of men, the Sun reported. But it appears the reasons why men and women fake are vastly different. Most women do so to get the lovemaking over and done with. They used to lie back and think of England, while men think of Kelly Brook. But it appears men fake climax because they are embarrassed their technique comes up short, and want to make women feel better. For new book 'Why Men Fake It: The Totally Unexpected Truth', Dr Abraham Morgentaler spent 25 years researching the male orgasm. He said, "The big surprise to me when I started doing this work was that, once a man is in a relationship, he seems to care more about his partner than himself." Most men know women fake it. Like childbirth for women, it is the pain we have to bear. But it will no doubt come as a big shock to women to learn their fellas are at it too. (ANI) http://sg.news.yahoo.com/even-men-fake-org...-050633116.html do you ?
