  1. Growth Dividends n GST Offset Package For example, a family of three living in a three-room HDB flat could receive benefits of about $5,000, which is about six times the estimated increase in their cost of living. A family of five living in a 5-room HDB flat will get about $4,900 - about 2.5 times the estimated increase in their living costs (see Annex B). - extract =============================== My family of four living in a 4 room only got abt $2k....so how did they come up w $4,900 for family of five in 5-room flat? is this figure for all 4 yrs added? in my mind when i first read this article is "ZHUN BO???!!!"

  3. With the new Honda Accord 2008, what would be your choice for a family sedan? My personal favourite is Accord, but at sub-100K price, it lacks keyless entry and the buttons-full interior is a minus. Camry is too common on the road and now also used as a taxi. one plus point is CNG option for JDM model carried by PI. Nissan Cefiro is my last choice due to its poor FC, and ah-pek outlook.
  4. You got to read this stuff: Yesterday nite, i wanted to unload stuff at loading and unlading bay at woodlands circles all full except 2 lots the 2 lots got people put plastic chair i kee siao, came out of pig karp and yelled: BA GA!!! then i remove the chairs from one of the lot, the went back in and proceed to reverse then got a few chaps come and put back the chair i lagi more hot, thinking: my mustank no scrared plastic chair the guys saw i so hiong, immediately removed the chairs... then one of them signal that he wanted to talk to me.... he said: towkay, liao gai ji eh, wo nang ai seau kim jua (boss, understand a bit, we want to burn hell bank notes) me: wah!!!! pai seh!!!! wa si kong yi nang yi reserve hor lang pah eh (very sorry. i thot you all want to reserve parking lot for people.....) him: bo bo bo, wo nang jin eh ai seau kim jua eh...... me: pai seh pai seh ending: they remove the chairs from another lot, then i park there and start to unlaod stuff..... if you know the grieving family who had the wake at woodlands circle, grateful if you could convey my apologies to them

  11. My fren told me... every weekend he would bring his family to see cars. Yes he has the intention to buy new car a yr ago. BUT the car has to be fast pickup, looks sporty and most importantly must be cheap. Somemore his family enjoys the outing very much... free coffee/tea and test drive!!!! This has been going on for many months already. I said such imaginary car only exist in other countries not singapore. Dont think that the family really enjoys such outings because the sales ppl already know them so well. By going there with no intention to buy actually waste the SE's time and turn. I know there are many ppl who likes to visit car showroom but bring family there every weekend.... this is the first.
  12. Read the New Paper during lunch and was quite anoyed by the way things had taken place by some reporters & photographers (Paparazzi) reporting on the NS AWOL with SAR 21 case. The victim family members were in court to see their love one to be charged and after the court, reporters & paparazzi crowd round the family taking photos and asking questioned. After declining to answer to the reporters, they waited for an hour for the reporters to disperse but to no avail. As they decided to move off from court, photographers approach them again. With that kind of persistance, it is a matter of time before things get boiled up. As a family members, they have the right not to answer any question thrown at them. As the scene prolong, anger bound set in and bang.... all hell went loose. As a matter of facts, all reporters and photographers should know how to take or accept a "no" for an answer gracefully.

  14. Apologise if I have offended anyone... I don't know where to post... so decided to post in general forum. Please come forward and help if you can. Posting on behalf of a fallen rider's family. My heart goes out to them... I can feel their loss, those who know me know what I mean... They are looking for witnesses to a terrible act of recklessness resulting in 2 kids being fatherless... and a woman widowed. Apparently the taxi made a illegal turn resulting in this rider's death... The rider has 2 young children... please help to see justice served. It won't compensate his family or bring him back... but a strong signal needs to be sent to errant lousy taxi drivers who think they own the road. I'm not anti-taxi drivers... I have 2 uncles and a few friends who drive taxis... and I "lecture" them to be careful too. http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=150021 below extracted from SBF posting Hello sir, I am Thierry's brother, and the police is looking for witnesses. Please contact them if you have witnessed the accident, all our family will be very gratefull for this. contact is : Clement Tan, Traffic Police (no 10 ubi Ave 3) phone : 65476216 or 98397704 Bests regards, Hugues Leroy // Rennes // France

  23. Good day to all, I have been reading up since my family decided to get a family car soonz... But somehow still undecided and torn between new and parf cars, hence would like to seek some advises here -Actually looking for a budget car with lowest depreciation per year( 1.5A or 1.6A to cater for at least 4 adults) -considering suzuki liana hatch 1.6A for new car -considering parf cars left with 3 - 5 yrs for 2nd hand car for example is the deal below reasonable? : 1.5 Auto Toyota Soluna, very good condition with new absorbers and filter replaced in August and regular servicing. Road tax just renewed till 25 Jun 04. Silver colour. Viewing available only for serious buyers. Asking S$37,000 sms 92746533 high scrap low depreciation. Upon scrap on 25June 2008 can get back about $14000 -Was hesitant on new cars coz i think i 'buey zai' as i only have little driving experience -Was hesitant on parf cars becoz it seems so 'chim' to actually inspect the car and also to get a trustworthy dealer Hereforth, hope bro and sis here can help me get rid of this dilemma[laugh] cheers
