  1. My uncle was involved in an accident which claimed his life. The accident happened on Monday, 14 Apr 08, at about 5:05pm. Location is along the slip road turning out from TPE towards ECP/PIE after the junction of Loyang Way. Police have told us that it was a self-inflicted accident because there were no stretch marks on the road. However, we insisted to keep the case open and that it was most likely a hit-and-run as the impact was so great, my uncle was thrown into the drain and had very serious injuries. He had a broken skull, which left him brain dead, broke 4 ribs, which pierced into his lungs and a broken neck. He was found without a pulse but was revived on the way to hospital, where he laid unconscious for 2 days before he passed away. My grandmother is very depressed since his accident and his death had caused his family much grief. I appeal to the public to call the traffic police at 1800-5471818 if you have witnessed this horrible accident. Pls help to post this notice in other forums if you can too. Thank You. Alex Loh on behalf of my uncle, Mr Loh Choe Kee. Rest In Peace. Reports from the Chinese papers, 20 April 08
  2. This morning at PIE going towards Tuas at 745am, heavy traffic encountered at CTE exit to Toa Payoh exit. Saw bad accident bike and a Vios. Bike lying at the road shoulder while Vios at Lane 1 divider. Got 3 TP WRX and the blue tent. Sad another life lost may he/she RIP. Should be most likely the biker. i didnt see the Vios driver. Come back opposite side towards Changi at 10am, the accident site still there but now jam even worse. saw the body lying there. TP halt traffic unpassable. Jam from the Toa Payoh exit all the way to Tampines i think.
  3. Was passing by BKE toward Woodland at 9.20 am when I saw a EMAS tow truck, one WRX and at the side of the road (just beside the crash barrier), one covered white plastic sheet....... Trying to look around for any vehicles but none...... . How that body landed there..... , R.I.P. The accident is just 200m after the flyover of PIE toward the direction of Woodland. Anyone can enlighten on the accident ????
  4. OMG...really sad after reading the post at Stomp, another life has lost, why can't motorist with little more patience...then peharps accident can be avoided... May the deceased R.I.P. taken from Stomp...http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/singapor...nt.jsp?id=15786
  5. Boo....Hoo....Hoo...., a fatal accident had just happen (2.30pm) along Clementi Road. A predestrain was knocked down by a car along Clementi Road junction Sunset Way toward the direction of Ulu Pandan Road. Taffic at stand still from said place to Bukit Timah Road. R.I.P.
  6. Exec Summary: Witness the aftermath of a bike accident at around 1.06am on 28th Oct. Condition: 1 with broken arm and another deceased Location: Slip road after clementi Ave 6 towards PIE. As a form of respect, no photos is taken, so don't enforce the NPNT rule in here. Sequence of event, entered the slip road slowly (usually don't but I'm on fuel saving mode) and saw someone lying on the road. Bike is about 10m away from the person. Stop my car further down the road and walk back due to the curve of the slip road. Called 999 at 1.06am, One lorry also came by and stop as well while I was making a call to the police. Next to pass by is LTA contractors in their lorry. I was impressed as they, including some FT, quickly get off their lorry and set up cones and reverse their lorry with their directional lights on. They also took out light stick to direct traffic. All these happen within 2mins and at 1.08am, i was still on phone with the police whom apparently do not know that there's no road name on expressway. Isn't Slip road after Clementi Ave 6 towards PIE very clear? Other half also called the police at the same time as she rush the next victim while I made the call near the 1st victom. Guess what, police didn't take down my other half's particular nor as ask her where is the location and tell her they are on the way. I tot they can trace thru GSM network. At 1.14, tow truck called to ask again for direction. At 1.18, ambulance called to ask for direction (yet again) At 1.29, ambulance arrived and attend to the victim with broken arm. The other victim which have his lower jaw smashed can't make it (Other half is still quite tramutized over the sight when she tried to check for consciousness on that victim) At 1.38, then the police arrived. So much for an emergency. At 1.42, another ambulance arrived. Guess it's time for a party or a meetup. So many come but isn't it a bit late? The intend of this post is to ask, is it reasonable for the relevant parties to arrive at such timing? If there's any faint of life in the victim, he/she would have bleed to death. Given their final accident position which could be awkward, passerby, whom have basic medical knowledge would be helpless except to call for help. I'm worried. Edit: at 1.47, police ask all passerby like me to leave so that they can carry on with their own party. Erm, so no need to close case with me?
  7. I am seeking for a witness to step forward in an accident involving a EuroR and a Hyundai Accent at around 12.25pm, Sunday 28 October 2007, at the cross-junction of upper serangoon road and bartley road. 9. Apologise if I have offended anyone... I don't know where to post... so decided to post in general forum. Please come forward and help if you can. Posting on behalf of a fallen rider's family. My heart goes out to them... I can feel their loss, those who know me know what I mean... They are looking for witnesses to a terrible act of recklessness resulting in 2 kids being fatherless... and a woman widowed. Apparently the taxi made a illegal turn resulting in this rider's death... The rider has 2 young children... please help to see justice served. It won't compensate his family or bring him back... but a strong signal needs to be sent to errant lousy taxi drivers who think they own the road. I'm not anti-taxi drivers... I have 2 uncles and a few friends who drive taxis... and I "lecture" them to be careful too. http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=150021 below extracted from SBF posting Hello sir, I am Thierry's brother, and the police is looking for witnesses. Please contact them if you have witnessed the accident, all our family will be very gratefull for this. contact is : Clement Tan, Traffic Police (no 10 ubi Ave 3) phone : 65476216 or 98397704 Bests regards, Hugues Leroy // Rennes // France
  10. Upon watching this video, seems to me the actual cause of the person's death was the neck snapped upon the kart hitting the barriers rather than the flip over. This was what i heard happened to her anyway. Watch the entire video. See how the neck snaps at high speed. Yes, the go kart is much slower but an F1 driver has very strong neck muscles so they pretty much survive a typical crash at 100+kph.
  11. was alerted by Nelmo on this new from today's ST : ------------ A SINGAPOREAN Formula One fan seeking a thrill met with tragedy on Saturday when the go-kart she was driving flipped over and crashed into a track divider. She died in the accident. Ms Chen Shu Li, 32, lost control of the vehicle while negotiating the final bend at the USJ Go-Kart Track in Sepang, Malaysia, at about 6pm. She had traveled there on Friday with her husband and three friends to catch yesterday's Malaysian Grand Prix. Her body was taken to the Serdang Hospital for an autopsy, reported the Shin Min Daily News. The Singapore High Commission in Kuala Lumpur has contacted her family here, said a Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman. Ms Chen and her husband are reported to have two children - a four-year-old boy and a one-year-old girl. In an effort to explain how Ms Chen lost control of her vehicle, industry sources yesterday said that she may have blacked out because of high G-forces. G-force, which refers to gravity's effect on the body, is multiplied when one accelerates to high speeds. The type of four-wheel drive go-kart Ms Chen was using - which rides very low and can reach speeds of up to 250kmh - is usually reserved for professional racers, said Mr Lee Nian Tjoe, editor of Singapore's Torque motoring magazine. Novice karters generally drive much more 'benign' vehicles with a top speed of 60kmh, making the sport 'quite safe'. The 'fun karts', as they are popularly known, operate on lawnmower engines. 'You would (practically) have to scrape them off the track in order to flip them over,' said Mr Lee. Enthusiasts do not need a licence and can rent a machine from any kart operator. Go-karting used to have a large following in Singapore, but it popularity has waned since the race tracks at the National Stadium were closed several years ago, said Mr Lee. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kart_racing are they saying that the deceased is using the SuperKart? i do not think there are SuperKart there, or they will allow a supposedly novice to handle that stated by a certain Mr Lee, that one needs to literally scrap the kart off for it to overturn cos of the low CG, so EVEN if one experienced high G force AND blackout, how can the kart flipped over? more often than not, when one experienced high G during corners we will just go slower or spin out (as a result) i dunno... i feel for the family. also i reckon that the reason(s) of the accident, flipping of the kart, might be due to other reasons the track surface (bumps at high speed corners) or something broke during her session.
  12. anyone of you witnessed a fatal accident along Eunos Link on 20/01/07(sat) just before noon? please PM me.thank you.
  13. It was around 11pm just now that I was sending my girlfriend and her family home. I was driving along Mandai Road, headed west towards the BKE. I saw police cars and barriers and flashing lights. All the cars were going to Lane One and as we drove by, we saw a white body-bag. Driving a little bit further, we saw a body pinned under a bus Quite a number of cars were stopped along the left lane after the accident sight. Very sad sight.
