  1. At the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, Ferrari CEO Luca di Montezemolo announced that all Ferrari employees would receive a special bonus due to the excellent financial results from 2010 to 2012. Now, a large part of that promise has already been paid out. The first portion of that special bonus consists of an additional month of bonus for each FY between 2010 to 2012. This means a handsome three-month bonus for each of the 3,000 headcounts under Ferrari
  2. Like Jeremy Renner's character from the Academy Award winning film - The Hurt Locker - the Red Bull and Mercedes AMG racing teams were clouded in tension as their drivers were getting increasingly frustrated by team orders and driver rivalry. More than skill or strategy - frustrations between team mates and radio messages spilled out the plot of the Malaysian Grand Prix from the end of the middle stint. In the Mercedes AMG camp, Nico Rosberg missed a podium appearance by obeying instructions to not challenge his team mate and personal friend - Hamilton - from Team Principle Ross Brawn. The eventful and tense Malaysian Grand Prix could have ended in disaster for the Austrian-U.K. racing team. Defending champion Vettel ignored team orders - which post-race claimed he was unaware of, and 'stole' a rightful win away from Webber by racing him unexpectedly. At that stint of the race Webber was 'coasting' his car to the end of the race and wasn't prepared for an attack by his team mate. Vettel's radio message from his team could not have been sharper or clearer to the millions of motorsport enthusiasts the world over as he crossed the finishing line, "Great job Sebastian, it looked like you wanted it more. But still there'll be some explaining to do." The green room and podium were showing a multitude of emotions as all three winners felt glum, gloomy, anger, frustration, disappointment and remorse. Despite all the tension, the race staged its fair share of incidents - starting with Alonso whose race ended at the end of the first lap, after his mildly damaged front wing broke off completely and sent him skidding into a gravel trap. Force India retired both their cars after a pit stop error involving a wheel nut. Button retired as well while his team mate Perez contributed two points to the team by bringing home his McLaren in ninth. Nostalgia hit third place winner Hamilton during a pit stop as he 'accidentally' pulled in at his former team - McLaren's - pit box. The McLaren crew were all set to receive Button before Hamilton came in on lap seven. Fortunately Hamilton completed his pit-stop in the right garage and resumed his fight for the lead. Last week's race winner Raikkonen and the Lotus team in general seemed to lack pace despite finishing a respectable seventh behind his team mate. Massa on the other hand finished a credible fifth in the sole prancing horse after a weak start and a surprisingly unimpressive middle stint. At the end of the race Vettel leads the drivers' championship at 40 points while Kimi Raikkonen and Mark Webber trail the German at 31 and 26 points respectively. On the constructors championships, Red Bull is leading at 66 points while Lotus and Ferrari are currently tied at 40 points as the F1 circus heads to China in three weeks.
  3. This year's Geneva Motor Show was a dream for many petrolheads, thanks to the presence of a new McLaren and a new Ferrari hypercar, a new Porsche GT3, a new Alfa and a crazy Lamborghini.. thingy.. I'm sure you guys know Chris Harris from the Drive channel, who was fortunate enough to visit the show. Besides his opinion on some of the show cars at Geneva, je gives us a review of the facelifted E 63 AMG. Oh and did I mention he dislikes the Veneno?

  6. Ferrari announced that 2012 was the best financial year ever for the 66-year-old brand. A total of 7,318 vehicles were delivered to worldwide dealership in 2012 while a revenue of 2.43 billion euros was recorded, breaking the record set in 2008. Net profit rose 17.8% to just under 244 million euros. "We are all enormously proud of ending the year with these kind of results despite the unfavourable economic backdrop in many European nations, and the distinctly hostile one in Italy," said Chairman Luca di Montezemolo. Although the US economy was threatened by the looming 'Fiscal Cliff' last year, Ferrari's sales in the US exceeded 2000 units for the first time by delivering 2058 cars. Sales in Europe was impressive as well with deliveries in Great Britain, Switzerland and Germany increasing by 20.4%, 17.4% and 8.2% respectively. Consumer behaviour is hard to predict some times. The results delivered by brand-related activities in areas of retail, licensing and e-commerce were excellent too, showing a 40% improvement in operating margin to over 50 million euros. If a Chinese idiom was used to describe Ferrari
  7. Ferrari CEO has personally put down speculation on whether the brand will build a four door car just like its arch rival Porsche. Speaking to automotorundsport.de, Luca Di Montezemolo said: "Ferrari is all about sportiness in the most pure form of the word, and that doesn't involve SUV's or four-door saloons. A Ferrari can't have more than two doors." Perhaps, if one insists of getting a four-door Ferrari, the nearest thing he can settle for is the Maserati Quattroporte or the 2014 Ghibli sedan, which is the upcoming entry-level sedan for the Italian brand. Montezemolo added that the California (above) is as low as they are willing to go. About 70% of the buyers of the California are first time Ferrari owners and Ferrari feels that it is attracting enough new buyers and hence a cheaper model is unnecessary. Ferrari should be praised for sticking to its guns in spite of the market trends. Brand image is definitely more important than bottom line to the prancing horse.
  8. Bored with ordinary looking earphones for your mobile music player? Or do you think that a certain earphone brand's styling is getting too common and want something different? If you are an automotive enthusiast and also a music junkie, look no further as Logic3 has released a new line of Ferrari branded earphones and headphones. The Logic3 Ferrari branded products are separated into two different collections; the Ferrari Scuderia collection and the Ferrari Cavallino collection. Both collections comprise of products such as speaker docks, earphones and headphones. The Cavallino collection is definitely for audio junkies who are looking for a more up-scaled look. The products are housed in aluminum which are then covered in hand stitched lamb skin leather. The Scuderia collection items are also made out of aluminum but instead of being covered in leather, they are finished in colours that closely match the Ferrari F1 team. The Italian automaker
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUVe2FjKZjg To celebrate the achievement of 10 million 'Likes' in its Facebook page, Ferrari put together a short animation featuring its chairman, Luca di Montezemolo. The video took the word 'fan' literally and shows the Ferrari boss being hit by a flying Ferrari, which is blown off by the power of 10 million fans. As the video ends, a 'Thank you' message signed off by Montezemolo pops up. Ferrari's competitors, Porsche and Lamborghini, have about 4.8 million and 4.5 million 'Likes' in their Facebook pages respectively as of 9 Dec 2012. Judging from the company's sales, it is not hard to understand why Ferrari has so many fans around the globe. The Italian supercar maker has established new records in revenues and in the number of cars delivered in the first half 2012. A total of 3,664 automobiles were delivered to dealerships, representing a 7.4% year-over-year growth compared to 2011

Finished in a custom UNSC paint job, its was designed by 343 Industries - the developers of Halo 4. 2008 Aston Martin DBS Aston Martin's Ulrich Bez sums up the DBS as "brutal, but dressed in a black tie." The new DBS - famously flipped by Bond in Casino Royale replaced the Vanquish at the time was the fastest Aston thanks to a potent 510bhp V-12. 2012 Ferrari F12berlinetta Ferrari's fastest road car ever and with 740bhp offers as much power as its F1 counterpart. Do I have to say anything more? 2006 Ford GTX1 Built specifically for the 2006 SEMA show, the Ford GTX1 was crafted by Mark Gerisch of Genaddi Design. Design inspiration came from the 1966 Sebring-winning Ford GTX roadster with a functional and innovative roof system comprised of four hard panels. The car is powered by a near 550bhp 5.4-litre supercharged V-8. 2006 Hummer H1 Alpha Open Top The Hummer H1 is probably the most dominant and capable off-road vehicle ever created - minus road practicality. Demanding attention, this 'tank on wheels' was never meant for commercial production. At 7,500 pounds, it can literary eat other cars. Despite its large frame, it could do 300bhp. 1993 McLaren F1 Conceived by Gordon Murray, the McLaren F1 translates Formula Technology in a road car. 12. Ferrari has auctioned off the first US-spec Ferrari F12berlinetta, with the proceedings going to the the American Red Cross in aid of the victims of Hurricane Sandy. 14. Just recently, Ferrari announced it will honour the Ferrari cars that Sergio Pininfarina has designed. Sergio Pininfarina passed away in July 2012 and was responsible for the creation of many Ferrari models and among them were the Testarossa and the short wheel base 250GT Berlinetta. On the 26th of October, the Ferrari Museum officially launches the start of the Great Ferraris of Sergio Pininfarina exhibition. The exhibition focuses on the years which Sergio Pininfarina's designs were considered to be very important to Ferrari. Sergio Pininfarina designed many Ferraris but the company has decided to place only twenty-two of them on display in Maranello. Present at the opening ceremony were Luca di Montezemolo (Ferrari chairman), Paolo Pininfarina (president of Pininfarina and also Sergio's son), Pierro Ferrari (Enzo Ferrari's son) and Sergio's wife. The exhibition is divided into three halls; one for race cars, one for concept cars and one for production cars. In the race cars exhibition hall, visitors can take a closer look on the racing cars that Sergio Pininfarina has created such as the 250 LM which won the Le Mans race and also the Sigma Formula One prototype from the late 1960s. One of the unique cars displayed at the concept cars hall is Ferrari's first ever four door car which is the Ferrari Pinin Concept. Also displayed there is the 2.9 litre, 400bhp Ferrari P6 Concept which was produced in 1968. The production cars exhibition is divided into two separate categories. In the front-engines section visitors can view models such as the 1964 275 GTB4 and the Spider version of the Daytona. Cars like the Ferrari Testarossa grace the mid-engined section of the hall. The exhibition is open to the public seven days a week till 07th of January 2013 (closed on the 25th of December and the 01st of January) and tickets can be booked online at museoferrari.com. 15. The name Sergio Pininfarina is synonymous with excellent looking cars. For those who are not familiar with the name, Sergio Pininfarina was an automotive designer who has designed many cars and most of them were Ferraris. Some of the cars that he designed were the Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari Testarossa, Bentley Azure and the Alfa Romeo 164. Sadly, Sergio Pininfarina passed away this past July and to honour his creations done for Ferrari; the Italian automaker will hold an exhibition at its official museum in Maranello, Italy. The exhibition will be known as Le grandi Ferrari di Sergio Pininfarina (Sergio Pininfarina
  16. AXA Insurance Singapore is making a test case out of its bid to reject any payout to the family of Chinese national Ma Chi, the Ferrari driver who died in a high-speed crash which left two others dead and two injured. If it succeeds in its High Court move, there will be insurance implications for other motorists, especially owners of the growing number of high-performance sports cars here. The insurer claims Mr Ma's recklessness meant that the May 12 tragedy was a "collision" and not an accident, and therefore it should not pay any compensation to his estate. If the courts agree, the insurer will be allowed to claim from Mr Ma's estate all third-party compensation it pays to the other victims. 17. [extract] Despite the challenging economic environment, the prancing horse galloped forward in terms of sales during the first half of 2012. The Italian-based supercar maker, Ferrari, has announced record sales for the first half of 2012, an increase of 11.9 percent compared to the first half of last year.
  18. According to BT, more than 30 units booking for Ferrari F12 Berlinetta over the weekend. This definitely reflect so many rich people in SIN today. I am not sure if these are collection or to be driven? Is it easier for corperate tax rebate in SIN??? Probably I understand SIN is one of the most easiest country to do business compare to many.
  19. [extract] Photos of a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano with an interesting interior colour scheme have surfaced on the world wide web. It was originally posted by a Reddit user and the photos have spread to other sites as well. All sorts of comments were made about the Ferrari
  20. German tuners TC Concepts have laid their hands on the well received 458 Italia. The project has been dubbed 'General Consul' for unknown reasons. The latest tuning company to play with the 458 Italia, the General Consul kit starts with a Novitec body kit adding a front and rear spoiler, side skirts, front fender vents among other extras. The Novitec kit also increases the output to 609bhp. TC Concepts has basically darkened out the rear lamps and colour-keyed he prancing horse emblems. The car is mainly finished in a bumblebee friendly yellow and black which also continues in the cabin. Throw in a couple of ComfortDelgro logos and it will blend in well with the local cab population. The extended carbon front flaps looks like the 458 has been given a thin moustache and from reminds me of the Joker's scars from The Dark Knight. Like the 'yellow ring' they have added to the rims and the black as night emblem on a yellow background just looks sinister. Looks like a car fit for the Yellow Lanterns then. They are after all fuelled by fear.
