  1. Hi guys saw this: http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.ph...871&DL=1034 1 yr 6 months OPC going for $23-27k. Any bros had probs with grande punto? Thanks for your comments.
  2. FIAT WANTS CHRYSLER AND OPEL Bold acquisition strategy to create new automotive superpower Fiat is intent on becoming the next global automotive superpower, with its sights set on swallowing both Chrysler and GM
  3. Going through the Fiat website and realise that it only have 1.3, 1.4 and above cars. Juz wondering if Fiat is planning to bring in any 1.5 or 1.6l cars? Anyone has any idea?
  4. Was at IMM yesterday after visiting my ancesters graves at CCK. I chance upon a road show by Fiat, displaying various models of its vehicles. I was quite impress with the Fiat Panorama, 1400cc 5 seaters on display. It has a high head room for any tall adults of over 6 feet. When I come onto the next vehicle on display, I was taken a back by what I see. It was the same model as earlier (Fiat Panorama, 1.4) but it is a 7 seaters. I am just wondering, how on earth a 1400cc car seat 7 adults and with power to move? While standing there and looking at other models (spend almost 1 & 1/2 hour there), I notice that there are numbers of sales for this 7 seaters, Panorama. Any MCF members who owns this 7 seaters, Panorama care to share on the performance and fc of the vehicle. Your imput is very much appreciated. Also whilst looking at other models, one that also catches my eye is the Fiat Grande Punto, 1.4 Coupe Dynamic Skydome at $69,900/-. A 2 door coupe with sun-roof over the front and rear seat. Well, it doesn't suit me anymore (family man) but if I am young and single, I would consider getting one. The road show runs until Sunday. All models comes with a package monthly installment of $488/- (10 years loan). Cheers.
  5. Happened to stumble upon this crash test. Terrible results with the Fiat. Maybe we should start a remembrance service for 500 drivers.
  6. saw in bloomberg, fiat bought 35% of chrysler very bold move during such time of uncertainty...
  7. Never thought I would try to stomp or post a complaint in MCF. Encountered a case this evening as HDB open carpark, where I was waiting for lots, when one is finally available, a Red Fiat just beat me to it and reversed in. I approached the driver (a lady) telling her that I am waiting for the lot. She did not wind down the window, instead give a "what what" look & hand gesture. I signal her to wind down window, she refused. Looking across at passenger seat was a guy. I thought maybe a guy could be more sensible. I went over, he refuse even to gesture, took out his precious iPhone. Immediately I know he is gonna take my pic & stomp me. I took mine (just a Nokia though) and snap him & the Fiat plate too. Then I went back to my car and continue waiting. They eventually got out of the car after several rounds of fwd/reverse. I got off my car again to tell him. He continue giving the iphone & video me. Fine with me, I said. Such pussy having no guts even to answer my questions. I am waiting for him to stomp me, then I will respond. Too bad MCF doesn't allow posting of license plate , which I respect mods decision, else I would like to share the CMI face of the lady driver & that guy. Sigh .. really out of wits dealing with such situation/people. What can I do legally ? practically NOTHING ... What a*ss luck I had. Well forumers here may comment this is a one-sided story, I could be the bully trying to steal her lots but failed, nevermind, someone up there knows ... anyway thanks for the listen ears (or eyes)

  12. Was driving on PIE last night and came behind a Red Fiat (not sure wat model but it is a hatchback). As both his tail lights and 3rd brake light was on, I also braked slowly to maintain a safe distance. However, the Fiat was pulling away from me constantly so I accelerated to keep up. The funny thing is his tail lights and 3rd brake light was still on. So, was he braking? or was he accelerating? or doing both at the same time???? Anyway, I slowly open up the distance between myself and him and soon many cars filtered in and came between me and the Fiat. My speed kept dropping as apparently everyone infront of me was unsure of the Fiat's intention and was also braking to keep away from him. Exited at Bedok Reservoir and while approaching the junction, saw the Fiat again in the middle lane, and the car behind him had stopped more than 1 car length behind him. To the driver of the Red Fiat SGx 8&9 Y - if you are reading this, kindly have your car's tail lights and 3rd brake light checked (should still be under warranty), whether there is a 'short circuit' in your car electrical system. But if it is an intended mod, then I can only say that you are a very inconsiderate driver without due consideration to fellow road users.
  13. http://www.sgcarmart.com/news/review.php?AID=44&PN=1 TTS' latest project is a re-chipped Bravo T-Jet to 185hp and 272Nm - it's quite nice, but I hope they do something to the hopelessly light steering and pedals :S Gave the Golf GT quite a scare...hehe Ignore the car info listed in the article below. It is not quite ready/correct yet. The car costs $2000 more than the standard T-Jet and comes with bigger rims/original body kit. Any feedback appreciated!
  14. Got a call from TTS yesterday. Was invited to the launch but I cannot make it. There are 2 version, MT and AT. Price is above S$70k. Anyone here attend and took some photos? BTW, Bravo is now 86.9k.
  15. Very interest news still on the old icon Fiat 500.................called the new Fiat 500 Abarth. Check out here: http://www.infomotori.co.uk/a_17_EN_18953_1.html Cool isn't it?
  16. http://uk.reuters.com/article/companyNews/...6?symbol=FIA.MI I quote : "MILAN, April 16 (Reuters) - Production at Alfa Romeo's main plant in Italy remained partly suspended on Wednesday as union workers kept up their protest despite police intervention, said the sports car maker's parent, Fiat (FIA.MI: Quote, Profile, Research). Workers have blocked the entrance to the plant, in the town of Pomigliano d'Arco, near Naples, to protest against plans to transfer about 300 employees to another building as part of a reorganisation. The plant, which makes the 147 hatchback and the 159 sedan, has had to partially suspend production because the protesting workers have prevented trucks loaded with parts from passing through its gates. Fiat obtained a court order to have police clear the workers from the entrance on Tuesday, but the protest has resumed unabated. Fiat has also used a helicopter to bring parts to the plant, union workers told Reuters this week. Recently renamed after Italian philosopher Giambattista Vico, the plant had restarted operations on March 3 after a two-month shutdown for refurbishment. It employs about 5,000 workers, some of whom conducted protests on a number of issues during the shutdown. (Reporting by Gilles Castonguay; Editing by Andrew Hurst) " So , expect more delay on the new 159 etc... IMO , they should move production to poland to punish the swines. it would cut costs and improve quality.

  18. http://www.sgcarmart.com/news/review.php?AID=3 Saw a number of good reviews on the Fiat Bravo T-Jet recently. Happily driving one... kekekeke Bravo bros, please fall in...
  19. Hi, After driving around these few months in my new ride, I sorta noticed that FIATs are generally slow for their specs. Even the ultra-sporty-looking Punto is kinda slowish. The Panda is slower than "poo on on constipation day". Is it because the cars are super-conti-heavy but powered by small cc? So, what's the plus with FIATs? In my opinion, only the Punto & Croma looks nice, but the pricing's so ugh!
  20. Today been to test drive both cars briefly. Below are my personal thoughts on the 2 cars. Exterior: Its something very subjective, but both cars have just what it takes to make me take a 2nd or 3rd or 4th ....look at them should I encounter any on the road. Interior: Both the Bravo's & 147's interior looks futuristic with very good fit & finish, instruments are very well laid out & designed for great ease of use, however, the 147's interior seems more sophisticated with all the sexy curves smartly planted within the car. The red speedometers & illuminators the 147 is simply wicked The drive: Road holding around corners is especially good on both cars, however, the Alfa 147 still feels moreplanted during aggresive cornering. Perhaps it might partly be due to the rims. The bravo is running on stock 16" steel rims as opposed to the 147's 17" sports rims. One thing I like particularly about the Bravo is the small turning radius. Perfect car for doing illegal U-turns The steering on the Bravo somehow feels lighter than the 147, even at speed . This might not be a good idea if you are those that likes to break the legal speed limit along NS highway. However, parking with the Bravo is simply Coming to road noise, this is where the Bravo really excels. The cabin is very well insulated against the road & engine noise. While driving at more civil speeds (or RPM The moment you slam on the pedal from 2500RPM onwards, the car will just shoot off with the engine pulling very lustily punctuated by a sweet engine note that is very similar to the 147, except it is not as bassy and before you know it, the engine RPM is already knocking off the rev limiter at 6000rpm ...a little too soon compared to the 147. Nevertheless, both the 147 and Bravo have very beefy and linear torque from 3000 to the redline range. Although so much has been said about how good the Selespeed is as it is being used in the F1 cars, I still prefer the good 'ol manual system found the Bravo (its 6 Speed!). Probably, I'm not very used to the paddle shifting on the 147 whereby it will take slightly under 1 second for responding to each tap with a slight jerk. Verdict: On paper, the performance specs for the Bravo looks better than the 147 as its max torque comes in at under 2500 RPM! However, as all the Alfistis know...The sting of the "serpent" is very deadly My heart will say "Give me an Alfa". My wallet would pull me back to reality and point towards the Bravo. Though I'd choose the 147 anytime over the Bravo, but it does not mean Bravo is inferior. Its just that the andrenaline sucker side of me will prefer the rough, deep & ecstatic note of the engine coupled with the wild handling of the 147. Perhaps, if I'm as blessed as some of the forumers here with a 6 figure annual salary, I'd get the very comfortable, executive & classy looking Bravo for commuting on the weekdays, blowing off pesky taxi drivers with the massive torque on tap, and the 147 for some weekend fun

  24. Some news to share: Chinese automaker Chery to supply engines to Italy's Fiat Mon, Aug 06, 2007 AP (Associated Press) BEIJING (AP) -- Italian automaker Fiat SpA has signed a deal to buy engines from China's biggest domestic automaker, Chery Automobile Co., a state news agency reported Monday. Chery will supply Fiat with 100,000 engines a year, the Xinhua News Agency reported. The agreement by Chery, which is eager to expand abroad, comes just one month after the company sealed a deal to manufacture small cars for Chrysler Group. Chery and Fiat signed a memorandum of understanding eight months ago, and auto industry media had reported that an engine supply deal was imminent. "The agreement means that Fiat, who had been testing Chery's engines during the past year, have recognized the technologies and quality of the engines developed by Chery," Xinhua quoted Chery Deputy General Manager Zhou Biren as saying. Zhou said the two companies are "exploring possibilities" on other cooperation, Xinhua reported, without giving details.
