  1. http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newcars_...p?CarCode=11114 Nice. Made in Germany.
  2. Hi, my dad is interested in these 2 cars. Just for an example of the exact spec and models, below are 2 links: C4 Focus As for the Focus, we are open to either the hatchback or the sedan version. Priorities are mainly reliability, fuel consumption and again, reliability. As he has spent almost 10k on repairs on his current car. I know for reliability, one should choose jap cars like toyota, honda etc. but my dad likes something different. I know these 2 models are quite low on power, but still drivable i guess. Read up abit and concluded that the focus is more of a fun car as in handling and the C4 is very comfortable. Any one can advise on any of these 2 models regarding reliability and maintainance issues? your feedback will very much be appreciated. Thanks!
  3. I need some feedback about this car, is it worth considering a 2nd hand Focus(yr 2006/7)? What is the FC and power of the 1.6L engine? Any known issue about this car or things which i need to take note when looking for a used one? Appreciate your advice.
  4. Hi , any advise on this 2 cars selection / info , thank you.
  5. Performance cars usually rely on large displacement engines that deliver high power. But technologies such as turbocharging and direct injection have changed things nowadays and Ford is looking at a more powerful version of its 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine. Ford officially introduced its 1.0 litre turbocharged three cylinder EcoBoost engine late last year. It was developed by Ford engineers in the United Kingdom and the engine generates around 123bhp. The engine will be used in the Ford Focus and a 100bhp version will be introduced in Ford models such as the C-Max, Grand C-Max and B-Max. Normally, we won

  13. From ST Forum. An well-written article, especially those portions highlighted... http://www.straitstimes.com/STForum/Story/...ory_651685.html MPs should focus on national issues THE parade of candidates for the upcoming general election has begun and they all pledge to serve their constituencies. What has been left unsaid is their opinion on national issues. Are we voting for local municipal councillors or parliamentarians? Local councillors focus on neighbourhood matters while parliamentarians have a duty to address greater matters of state. Are our candidates satisfied merely with ensuring that their housing estates are clean and the lifts are working, and writing letters on their constituents' behalf? If that is so, why would we need so many Members of Parliament? Why not a separate slate of local councillors? Our parliamentary sittings are a bare minimum and done with swift dispensation that suggests more of going through the formalities. Question time is limited and speeches have been shortened. Given the increased number of MPs, some may not be able to speak or present their views. Parliament is the country's highest institution. There are many issues of a higher order that challenge Singapore - from population policies to housing and cost of living, and the nature of our society. Where does each candidate stand on key issues? We should do away with a general election if it is merely aimed at electing a cohort of like-minded MPs. Parliament should be reserved for politicians who can envision the nation's future, challenge the status quo, influence policies, effect change, and dwell on the larger issues at stake. Singapore has been blessed with good, honest and capable government, but there is no guarantee that this will always be the case. Changes made to constituencies and Parliament have over the years been more designed to entrench an existing government than to allow for change. A good, fair, honest and effective government need not fear losing an election. In fact, any fear of losing its privilege to govern should spur it to remain so. Michael Seah

  19. Say goodbye to the inline 5 pots turbo unit in the existing Ford Focus ST. According to Ford's product development boss, Derrick Kuzak, the new ST will make use of the company's new EcoBoost engine. "Our commitment is to deliver an exciting performance model of the new Focus on a global basis and using a version of our advanced new Ford EcoBoost petrol direct-injection turbo engine," said Kuzak back in March. "We're not ready to reveal more details yet, but we recognize how important this model will be in the Focus line-up, particularly for customers in Europe." The new Focus ST will either get the Mondeo's 2.0 240HP unit, or perhaps an even more powerful version churning out around 250HP. In addition to the EcoBoost engine, the new Focus ST will get a tweaked chassis with upgraded suspension, steering wheel and brake systems, as well as upgraded alloy wheel / tire combos. A Ford insider has reportedly confirmed to Autoexpress magazine that the hotted-up ST version of the new Focus hatchback will make its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show in September.
  20. http://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newcars_...p?CarCode=10851 Any reviews so far? The specs looks awsome and the cool limegreen is so HAWT! I would love to trade off the stock and get a similar limegreen rim to match the body.
  21. Looking very focused indeed!
  22. http://paultan.org/2010/02/02/ford-focus-2...ort-test-drive/ Juz read the article and i am very impressed with the specs. 320Nm from 1800rpm is no joke. Plus wif a 6 speed powershift transmission too. I wonder if it'll sell if sold in singapore. I did some rough calculating and it seems it cud be priced below $80k if brot in.
  23. If Mercedes has moved development of its 2010 car in the direction of Michael Schumacher, that tactic is "simply wrong". That is the belief of the seven time world champion's first formula one team boss, Eddie Jordan, who gave a then 22-year-old Schumacher his grand prix debut in 1991. Although denied by Mercedes, it was reported that the focus on the changes made to the W01 car ahead of Barcelona was with the former Ferrari driver's preferences in mind. But Irishman Jordan said that, five races into the now 41-year-old's return to the grid in the wake of a three-year retirement, Ross Brawn needs to forget the way that he previously worked alongside Schumacher at Ferrari. "Let's be clear; in the Ross Brawn era, Ferrari was basically a one-driver team," said Jordan, who now travels to the grands prix as an expert pundit for British television. He told the German newspaper TZ: "This (approach) is a mistake. The first four races showed entirely clearly who is able to keep up with the new generation of drivers such as Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton; namely Nico Rosberg." Rosberg, 24, was on the podium twice in the first four races. With the revised car in Spain, Schumacher took over as the team's pacesetter, but was a minute down at the chequered flag. "Schumacher is now more capable of dealing with the car, but the gap to Red Bull has become much greater," Jordan observed. Source: GMM
  24. Although the all new Ford Focus has been unveiled, it doesn't mean that the previous generation has become a has-been. On the contrary, a meaner version has been released in the form of Focus RS500. The 500 figure in the designation indicates a limited, 500 units production run. This fire-breathing hot hatch makes 345hp, which is 45hp more than the standard RS. The 2.5 liter Duratec RS engine is maintained but tuned up to produce the more horsepower and extra torque, rated at 460Nm between 2,500 rpm to 4,500 rpm. Upgrades over the standard RS include a larger intercooler, bigger air filter, updated ECU, improved fuel pump and an exhaust downpipe with larger diameter. According to Ford, the RS500 performs the century sprint in 5.6 seconds and top speed is rated at 263 km/h, which is the same as the RS. The RS500 is treated to a matte black body finish, courtesy of a film layer supplied by 3M. The film layer is durable and able to resist scratches. On the inside, there is an individually-numbered metal plaque with red colour scheme and buyers can also opt for bespoke Recaro front sports seats in full red leather.
