Hi I am driving a 2006 Ford Focus, was thinking of upgrading my rims to 17" , however I am having some problem find a compatiable one. Focus PCD is 108 as compare to Japan car of 90-100. Been to a couple of workshop but no luck. Would like to seek some advise from the guru here where where can I fin 17" rim with PCD of 108. Thanks~!

colleague looking at this 2 models... French cars are know for their "reliability", Focus honestly is not the prettiest hatch in town. both with above average handling, so-so interior... any comments from the gurus here?

1. I was pleasantly surprised when I came across a popular Taiwanese car magazine that wrote a test review and compare the mentioned 2 cars. In Taiwan, Ford Focus is a higly regarded car. To bring in a Gen-2 to compare with it, it means the Taiwanese thinks highly of a Proton. In fact, of the past few Taiwanese Magazines I've read so far, the critics and end users are generally pleased with Proton products there. 2. The 2 cars are compared in the following departments and I briefly translated the key points of each: A)Equipment Level No kidding, Gen-2 won here depsite the fact that it was mentioned that although Gen-2 dashboard is plasticky but its dashboard display, layout & sound system are better. Gen-2 has cruise control as default. B)Performance Level Without doubt, Focus won but not by alot due to its heavy body and poor power to weight ratio. When in motion after a 0-100Km/h sprint, to accelerate from the next 0~400m, Focus is 18.3 secs and Proton is 18.7secs, so not much difference between a Duratec 1.8L and 1.6L Campro engine. C) Handling Although Focus excels in handling but owning to high CG of its tall body, it is less precise in cornering though stability is not compromised. A Gen-2 is about 1.2 ton but its has a much lower CG, outstanding chassis, very precise in cornering and it is a fun car to be in control and to be driven. D) Maintenance Here they talked about ease and cost of maintenance. Ford being a more established brand there has clear advantage over a Proton. E) Conclusion Performance and Handling wise, both cars are at par. Focus does not have an upper hand in the performance band due to its poor power to weight ratio. Both have excellent chassis and built, Gen-2 steering precision is highly commendable. 3. In the end, the editor/tester choice is Ford Focus. If a Ford Focus 1.6L is in the review, do you think it will be torn by a Gen-2? What do you guys think? Regards,

Just in - Official Pictures from this week's Frankfurt Auto Show As some predicted, the "Kinetic" Design has been incorporated into the facelifted Ford Focus in quite a big way. Unfortunately, it looks like the Kinetic Design Language in the Front does not flow w/ the rest of the car. For your viewing pleasure.

Hi any of you guys care to comment on the above cars. I was contemplating on this 3 models based on 65k budget. Below is some personal comments on this 3 model Nissan Sylphy 1.5A * Outstanding leg space for rear passengers. Think it should be the best in its class. * Very comfortable driving position but had yet to test drive. * Styling very Ah Pek especially the excessive chrome front grille. * Short width tall Body looks kind of a awkward. * 15" rim is a big turn off but as the car does not have a distinctive wheel arch and also the wheel well looks kind of a small to accomodate 17". * Any of you guys can comment on the road noise and pick up? * Personally think Black is the more sporty color as to hide that Ah pek look. Mazda 3 SP 1.6A Sedan * Very sporty outlook as compare to the pre face lift model. ( Except for the GT model) * Interior design very sporty but limited legroom for both driver and passenger. * Tried the pre facelift model very heavy road noise. * Poor pickup and high FC anybody can comment on the new SP model. Saw from other forum that actually the new SP is lighter. * Think the factory fitted sound system cannot play MP3 sounds * Was really tempted to commit but CO insist that the lousy legroom is a big no no. Ford Focus 1.6A Auto 4 Dr Sedan * Really love the design but must have full bodykit on. Looks so executive and different from the normal cars on road. Looks like a S40 from rear. * Superb handling but pick up sucks big time. * Reasonable interior legroom compare to the Mazda 3 eventhough they share the same platform. * Too bad RM is not bringing in the trend model anymore. Got to pay xtra 6K more for the Ghai model. Eventhough the additional option is quite worthwhile. So apart from my personal view above. Can any of you guys give me your personal feel?

When the lights turned green he pulled off quickly and just to try how fast my car was, also 'tekan' my accelerator. First he pulled slightly in front as he took off first but when I slotted in third, the ST really pulled away and all this was done with the a/c on. He actually wanted to overtake me from the extreme right lane at Holland Rd after the speed camera into Tanglin Rd. Sorry mate, no chance! anyway to show his frustration he flashed at me but I showed him the thumbs down! That was one frustrated guy " Not sure whether it is exaggerated but a Legacy GT out-accelerated by a Ford Focus ST?

Hi, Any Ford Focus Owners using cxx xxxe Brand oil for their rides? I dont think there should be any issue at all since branded oils are just that - branded. But since our cars tend to have longer service intervals - I just want to make sure from a user point of view? BTW, I got really pissed off at Regent Motors today after I found out they only open for half day on weekends now!! And the earliest half day weekend appointment slot is 6 weeks away!!! Talk about sxxt Aftersales car care. These guys dun give a flying fxxk about providing accessible and convenient car car service at all.
