Hi any Focus driver there, I've being drving the MK1 for the pass few years & finally decided to make my first step into the ICE world. As a beginner, would juz wish to install am Amp to boost up my current stock set. Can anyone gimme some advice on how to go abt choosing an AMP? What sort of wattage should I go for if looking at 4ch type? Any brand to recommend? Thanks

Its sad that RM has only brought in the old 99bhp 1.6L engine for the new Focus Such a good chassis demands a better engine! BUT, from what I read here.... http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onem..._1_6_sedan.html It seems like the 116bhp Zetec engine will be brought in as well and it should hit our shore by end 2005. Now, Focus Dudes.......... is this true? Is there light at the end of the tunnel? Or is it just a false dawn?

Wanted to get some feedback from the kind and friendly focus owner here about the car. - is it expensive to maintain? - for the 5 year warranty period, what does RM covers(labour, parts, repairs)? - service one time by RM cost how much? - still got warranty for a 2nd-hand car? Went to see a 2nd hand (1 yr old) Focus today, noticed the armrest connected with the panelling at the gear lever panel was very filmsy and rather loose. Some of the plastics of the console were also creaky. Anyone can verify if it's the case for Focus? Any comments on the build quality? Does anyone know if NTUC allows repairs at Regent? Thanks for your inputs !

The 2 seem to have relatively similar FC, space and 2ndhand price. Have tested both cars before, the Focus feels more 'balanced' in corners but at high speeds (>100kmh) the Impreza feels more planted. Steering feel seems about the same to me. Anyone here who have experience in these 2 cars care to comment? Especially on the handling and comfort aspects. Is there any significant advantage in having AWD for normal driving here? Thanks !

"Ford Motor Company is giving away a Dell desktop computer with the purchase of its 2005 model-year Focus car, in addition to a $2,000 cash rebate. Both Ford and rival General Motors raised profit-eroding consumer incentives on most slow-selling vehicles earlier this month after posting disappointing U.S. sales in January. The two Detroit automakers entered 2005 with high inventories of unsold vehicles and trimmed targeted production this quarter. Ford is also offering a $500 cash rebate, in addition to other hefty discounts, to millions of full-time college students and recent graduates seeking to buy or lease a Ford or Lincoln Mercury vehicle, the company said on Tuesday. Ford, which saw U.S. sales drop 5.4 percent last month, said the rebate was available to students currently enrolled in college, trade or graduate school, as well as any student who has graduated or will graduate between May 1, 2003 and Jan. 2, 2006. Hi guys, I am in the market looking for a car and this is my 2 cents worth ... Mazda 3 : this car sucks... no power, but no doubts about the look. quite disppointed... Low OMV of about 16k even for the most expensive HB version. i am actually driving a 323 HB now and was actually my first choice until I have tested it... Astra : ( S$85,888 ... another S$2k disc. offered for motorshow ) Not used to the easy-tronic transmission at first but it feels good when driven in manual mode.... The car works quite well in both auto and manual, the days when you want some kick... you can actually drive it in the tip-tronic manual mode and feel the car moves... heard from the SE that the gearbox can be repaired if it kaputs ( not too sure if it is true ) and will only costs S$1k+ for replacemnet in the event if it is really beyond repair high OMV of S$19,500 ... interior finishing is quite okay... ... not as good as the Golf though.... heard that the 3-dr version is coming next year.... should be 1.8l though... however, they have a 1.8l auto ( 5-dr ) which they are still thinking if they will launch it in SIN. Golf : High OMV of S$ 25k Definitely one of the best in terms of feature.... cruise control, 8 airbags ... finishing is definitely fanstastic. but at S$104k for a 1.6l.. .. you will definitely have to really think abt it. will buy if budget permits... but frankly too expensive for a 1.6l... Focus HB.... Nice road handling... thanks to Eddie... for allowing me to test drive. Only minus point is that it does not have the tip-tronic gear on the Focus...... the ride is comfortable and handling is very good. However, will want to see how is the new Ford Focus first... but definitely one of the better 1.6l cars around.... Only concern is the high costs of maintenance... I used to own a Ford Escort and really pay through your arse for wear and tear and this is really a major concern if you want to drive for long.... Anybody there who used to or driving a Astra now? any comments on maintenace ?
