  1. Hi, The shox on my brother's Focus needs changing. Was told the rear shox cost $160.00 each, is it so damn expensive ??? What shox are you boys using ??? Workshop offered a set of 4 Bilstiens for $900.00. Any comments from the FORD boys here ??? Appreciate any input. Thanks.
  2. This Focus looked pretty good at first but soon I was to discover the paint is scratched all over, with stubborn tar stains all over the lower panels. PC seemed to do little against the scratches so I switched over to the rotary with a white pad, using a mixture of Opti Polish and Compound. Full process: ONR + Clay + Dry Rotary/polishing pad/OP mix OC 1 layer of EX-P Tyres got BoldnBrite Here are the B4 & Afters, Bonnet [inline 1.jpg] [inline 2.jpg] Side door [inline 3.jpg] [inline 4.jpg] Boot [inline 5.jpg] sadasd [inline 6.jpg]
  3. Though I start a new discussion on this. That is quite a serious change - Here is the comparo between the current..and the yet to be confirmed "new version" - a little too dramatic i think.
  4. This is a long shot, but can any Ford Focus owner here know which workshop has the knowledge to replace the light bulb for Ford Focus? Don't want to go to RM because they are charging $50 to replace the light bulb. For those who are curious why this question is asked, you need to understand changing the light bulb for Ford Focus is a pain-in-the-ass due to design fault.
  5. Understand that brake fluid & fuel filter will be changed. Any bro out there can advise if I'm allowed to bring my own replacement? Will it be cheaper & where can I get them?
  6. My Focus Mk1 coming to 5yrs/100,000kms, suspension feels quite worn, so was wondering what were my options. May i know if it's possible to rebuild the stock shocks? Are they gas or oil filled? Or what good aftermarket replacements for shocks & springs are there? I want to retain most of the stock comfort, don't mind lowering slightly. Thanks.
  7. both 1.6L which is better in terms of handling , interior , bhp and fc ?

  10. http://www.worldcarfans.com/tuners.cfm/tun...us-st-from-wolf 4000 euros to convert the 225ps 320Nm regular st to a 300ps 400Nm power house. "For both power classes, WOLF also optimizes the control device, thereby generating additional power in all of the essential engine maps. At the same time, WOLF completely revises the turbo charger in terms of the turbines and the exhaust. In addition, the Neuenstein-based tuner modifies the injection nozzles. Professional tuning means that all necessary steps have to be undertaken when increasing power so that the power-enhanced engine does not die as the result of overheating. Consequently, WOLF also revises the water circulation system so that the cooling system matches the increased power. That way, the customer can rest assured that he will be able to enjoy the increased power for a long time. The price for the 300 bhp overhaul is 3,950 euros. For the 275 bhp version, the price is 2,740 euros. The more powerful version shines with a maximum torque of around 400 Nm achieved already with roughly 2,100 RPM. The maximum torque of 360 Nm for the 275 bhp Focus is achieved already with 2,000 RPM. In terms of revs, that’s between 30 and 64 Nm more than with the standard version!"
  11. Hi guys anyone has any idea how many New Ford Mondeo and Focus onSG road? Thanks :)
  12. I helped my friend replace engine oil for this 2002 Ford Focus (in USA, 2.0 ZETEC engine). He has about 60k km on his car, and I found that the middle part of the engine is oily, to the point of forming drips. This is observable near/under the exhaust manifold area. Valve cover, oil pan, front/rear seals are completely dry. Does this mean the head gasket is bad? Is this a common problem?

And also, woould like to know what is the market price to have the timing belt changes? (Which means inclusive of water pump, seal, gasket, bearing, etc..). 16. Hi there, 1. It seems that Ford Focus is a popular American car on Singapore road. It is priced competitively and the road holding is superb. This is my current favourite. Do we have Focus owner here? 2. For the price of a Ford Focus, what would be a comparable choice (minus Jap/Kor cars)? 3. Is fuel consumption a downside for this car? Please advise. Thank you. Regards.

  21. Hi, i currently drive a honda civic ( 4 yrs + ), and is very much interested in getting the new Ford Focus 2005 Sedan (76.9K basic) with full bodykit, 17" low profile tyre, rim etc (another 5K). My honda civic is registered in March 2001 (manufactured in 2000), well maintained (full service by Honda according to schedule), with leather seat/sports rim. The trade in value given is only 45K. Comments, suggestions relating to the above will be much appreciated before i made a decision by this weekend. Also, how much "discount" you think i can bargain for the purchase of Ford Focus? What color would you recommend? Would you think the 17" tyre/rim would affect much on the performance of the car? http://www.fordfocus.com.sg/ http://www.fordvehicles.com/cars/focus/ind...?section=COLORS http://www.forddesktops.com/browse.asp?f=focus Thanks.
  22. Dear MCF members, Need advice from you guys, my brother in law has narrowed down these 2 cars and asked for my opinion, but too bad, I have not much knowledge in Conti cars, did ask him why he dun like Jap cars and his only reply is too common, oh well, so anyone care to give feedback and comments about these 2 cars so that I can feedback to him, Thanks in advance.
  23. Hi, Anyone know where we can get Ford Focus Bodykits? Looking for something like the one shown on the main website. http://www.focussport.com BTW, any Focus owners here? See lotsa of them on the road nowadays..but cant find any discussion on it.
  24. Hi , Wats the average FC for the new Ford focus ?
  25. How much fun can one find in a 1.4-litre hatch these days, one would ask. Quite a bit, apparently, if it's the much talked-about 3-door Focus - pleasantly sharp handling, taut body control in and out of the corners and decent ride on the straights coupled to quite a bit of useable space behind (both in the rear seat and boot) the driver. Braking late into downhill corners hardly upset its composure (probably would have upset yours truly's lunch before the car showed any discomfort) and sudden lane changes (not very recommended too often but great shortcut way to check out roll in crowded roads) reveal a nice, firm set up with roll well in check. Only an overly light (for a conti) clutch (my one of two gripes) dents the otherwise lovely first-drive experience. And all this fun on stock 15"ers.... The dash upfront is feels half-a-notch up on quality from the Mk1 but, to my personal opinion, despite the presence of the factory fit head unit, the design takes a step back from the new edge to (new ?) conservative. Even the gearknob feels better tho' the look is debatable. The exterior looks like what I'd imagine a baby Mondeo would have. The lights, the flanks....even the steering wheel looks like it came from the Mondeo. A case of a maturing Focus, perhaps ? Access to the rear, with the doors slightly larger than the 5-door hatch, is decent but that also opens up to the second of the two could-be-better gripes I have - the headroom was surprisingly decent given it's a 3-door hatch and seeing how poorly its s40 brethren fared a couple of months back. However, the side armrests, wich double up as cubby hole covers could do better in the fit and materials department. Cliched as it may seem, one of the better handling cars in this end of the market may just have gotten better (and thank goodness it's a maunal, too, I should add) and, even with 3 adults and aircon blasting upfront, there was hardly a hint of any struggle for breath from the car throughout the drive. Personally, the last time I had so much fun in a out-of-the-showroom 1.4 hatch was with the Leon (for the uninitiated - it's the Seat Leon 1.4, of which only 20 or so units were brought in to S'pore), and this, I'd say, even beats that experience in some ways. So, again, with gusto, repeat after me - lovely handling, terrific ride, conservative inside, could-be-better rear....or, in short, I'd put it down as a most worthy consideration for this market segment. Now, if only the 1.6's came with manuals (but we've all been there before, haven't we ?)
