  1. Till end-May 2008. Mon-Sat: Noon-2pm. Free parking on Sundays. Recommended makan: Char-kway-teow, prawn mee, Hakka food, fried tang-hoon, and of course the muffins. The two new Muslim stalls are good too.

  4. Hi all, I've a few appalling experiences after having some food at Ikea Tampines. Now everytime I go there, I can see heaps of rubbish on tables, uncleared plates, food on the floor, serviates flying around. Its like a pigsty! I do remember going Ikea is a nice experience as everyone would clear their tables after they finish their food. This doesn't seems to happen now. It got to a point that I'm truely disgusted by the behaviour of the customers patronizing the place: 1) only 1 poor pathetic cleaner trying to clear hundreds of never ending plates and dirt piles 2) customers complaining to this cleaner for not cleaning their table fast enough 3) best of all.. they see the rest not clearing their tables, they join in as well, leaving their filth for others to clean. Just to let all of your know. Ikea's food area has a long running policy that the customers should clean up when they leave. Do your part, remind those beside your table that they need to clear when they leave. Rgds
  5. This thread is to detail bad experiences you have so that others will not suffer the same. I will start with mine: Location: Bukit Merah Lane 1 Hawker Centre (Just opposite Mova Automotive Workshop) Stall: Rong Guang BBQ Seafood Case: I ordered a few dishes and one of it is La-La (the shellfish in chilli sauce dish that many love) My Beef with Them: 90% of the shells are empty and the shellfish are pathetically small. Its about 1cm by 1cm per piece so go figure The food is not fantastic (average quality and taste) even though it was recommended by Yummy King. Watch out!!!!
  6. Hi all, esepcially prospective Skoda owners, Rencently I have the opportunity to ride in one of the Premiercab Skoda Superb taxi. The leather upholstery is done locally. Prior to this, I have viewed the leather interior of a Skoda Superb which was delivered to a SOG member in early October. To my surprise, the leather upholstery in the cab and the private car is provided by the same contractor. The main tell-tale sign is located at the rear bench seat at the middle. There is a seam on the leather upholstery which is found 5 to 10 cm away from the seat cushion which supports the back. This is a common technique to connect 2 adjacent pieces of leather to make up for the deficiency in length. The second tell-tale sign is the inclusion of leather upholstery on the door panels of the Superb, without the need for extra cash top-up. For the Superbs which have been delivered prior to Oct 2006, the original cloth upholstery is left intact even though the seats have been upholstered by the previous leather contractor, which is renowned for its workmanship and quality. The third tell-tale sign is the pitch of the thread found at the seams where 2 adjacent pieces of leather are sewn together. The fineness of the pitch is related to the genuity of the leather. For leather which has a higher percentage of genuity, the distance of the pitch is finer compared to half-leather and PVC. From what I have observed, the pitch is coarser for the leather upholstery provided by the current contractor. As seen by one of the new Superb owners whose leather upholstery has been done by the current contractor, the grain and quality of the leather have taken a step backwards. Workmanship has dropped considerably. There was excessive leather on one section of the rear seat bench, revealing a bulge. (Nobody has sat at the rear before, just in case anybody thinks that the bulge is a crease.) According to the owner, the cost of getting leather upholstery installed has not been lowered even though the quality and workmanship are considerably poorer. To add to his woes, the leather seats of his Superb look no different from those found on the taxis. To those potential Skoda owners who are keen to opt for leather interior, it could be a wise move to order a Skoda vehicle ditto leather. Besides having the flexibility to choose the colour and texture of the leather upholstery you desire, you will be assured that you will be getting your money's worth from a reputable leather upholstery provider. The upgrade which is worth topping up are the rims provided by CA. Albeit they are not original Skoda rims, it is value for money considering the top-up price.
  7. Had just return home from a very good dinner and just want to share with all the Bro/Sis here....got good value for money lobang must share. Happen to drop by this kopi tiam while visiting one of my friends just now. WanDee Seafood Restaurant Blk 194 Kim Keat Ave #01-394 S(310194) Tel: 63533758 We had 1. Steam fish Hong Kong Style --> The taste was heavenly, even better than expensive restaurant. Don't take my word for it, go try it once. If no good, come into this forum and scold me. 2. Prawn Roll --> Traditional Teochew style, fresh prawn, mince pork, water chest nut wrap in beancurd skin, then fried. Eat with sweet black sauce. 3. Sweet and Sour Fish --> My kid finish almost the whole plate. 4. Sambal KangKong --> This dish taste normal, nothing outstanding. 5. Prawn Paste Fried Chicken Wing --> This dish, I finish the whole plate. They serve the mid section of the wings only, freshly fried and not too salty, flour is thin and crispy. I hate those that put a thick layer of flour. 6. Clay Pot with Fish Maw and Sea Cucumber --> Soup is thick, sea cucumber is think and serve with real fish maw (some places uses pig skin), good value. After dinner I started chatting with the cook while he was taking a break, found out that he is his own boss, told me that the location is a bit out of way, rental of the place is cheap and he only got 2 workers, so overheads are low and therefore manage to put out all these food at such a low price. After closing at 11pm, he still wash his own dish...a friendly humble man..... The service is a bit slow but to low headcount but I couldn't fault the food given the quality and price. At the price that he is selling the dishes, I wonder how he is making a profit??? I am thinking of going there again on Sun and my OC readily agree.....

  14. I am looking for this impatient aunty who took the same lift as me, my wife and 2yr old son at BLK 982 Buangkok Crescent Food court 10am today. Firstly, while we were wait for the lift to reach 2nd floor, you brush aside my wife and stand in front of the lift. Secondly, you close the lift door while my son is entering. I am still outside the lift and used my hand to block the lift door. Maybe you didnt notice my stare on you. Thirdly, my son scared of the lift door closing on him rush to my wife who is carrying 2 packet of hot kopi. It spill on the back of his head and back causing him to scream. Fourth, instead of helping..you walk off even I shouted at you. Dont turn back and act blur nothing have happened. You were lucky I was busy tending to my son burn. If you are in a rush to go home lou sai or die, pls use the staircase since its only 2 storey. Or jump down from second storey if you are in such rush. Sorry for venting my anger here but those staying at Buangkok Crescent pls be on the lookout for this aunty age ard 40+ when you taking lift with your young ones. If you anyone happen to know this aunty pls let me know as I want to know whats her problem and give her a piece of my mind. Thanks.
