  1. it seems that Avante ride is much quieter than forte's. Is it due to the sound-clad which comes with avante or tire size? Avante comes with sound clad SP and thicker tires. Or is it due to other reasons???
  2. Guys as above. Please state why as well. Disclaimer:I'm not buying either. Just wondering which most people would chose.
  3. But C&C missed out this one: KIA Cee'd How come? I don't mind to be a kiasi lang leh. [:p]

  6. [extract] The Kia Forte sedan has just been named the top-rated sedan under US$15,000 in the Edmunds.com Consumers
  7. I'm a new Forte owner... from the owner's manual, it stated the for Europe countries, the recommended petrol is 95, although 91 can also be use but may result in loss of power... for non-Europe, the recommended is 91. My SE told me that the recommended is 95... but this is different from the owner's manual. So, I would like to find out what type of petrol you guys are using. Btw, any idea why is there a difference for Europe and non-Europe? Different engine used???
  8. hi one and all.... i suppose with yet another increased in COE prices, Picanto now starts from S$66,999 Auto@S$69,999 which is just a dollar short from S$70k... ($10k increased from the last round) the price gap between the 1.6L and 2.0L models have now gone to at least $20k....
  9. Also making its world premiere at New York Auto Show today is a hatchback variant of Kia's hugely popular Cerato Forte. The five door model joins the current four-door saloon and two-door (Koup) coupe versions of the Forte. Stylistically, the hatchback conversion of the Forte is far less adventurous than you would expect from a company that has churned out some interesting designs lately including the Optima and Sportage. There are no photos of the interior yet, but Kia's release makes word of a revised center console, new paddle shifters for the automatic transmission and the addition of a push-button start. North American consumers will have a choice of the 2.0 and 2.4-liter engines while customers in other markets will be able to choose from the 1.6 and 2.0-liter powerplants. More interestingly, the Forte 5-door has been fitted with Hyundai Group's latest six speed automatic transmission. This means that we can expect to see the sedan version be fitted with the 6 speeder quite soon. If the Forte comes fitted with a new 1.6L Turbo powerplant in the future, the Japanese are in deep s--t! In Singapore, the Forte 5-door would make a good alternative to the Hyundai I30. For those who are upset that the Kia Ceed is not available locally, they can take heart that the 5-door Forte could make a local debut. Folks at Cycle & Carriage, please make it happen!
  10. Hi bro and sis, I have found a supplier to bring in the eibach pro kit springs for kia forte which they require at least 5 person(cfm order) to bring in the shipment. price with installation :sgd 450 pls pm me for more detail or u can check on wedsite :eibach.com.sg
  11. heard that its selling about 50k++. Since its made in korea or thailand and forte is also made in korea, how come cruze is more expensive? anyone went down to chevy showroom yet?
  12. Saw a lime green KIA forte koupe zipping through AYE this morning, as if it is a big-bang sports car. My advice is, pls slow down and drive carefully. Your specs are not that terrific and if you keep driving this way, very soon you will be "taken on" by the big boys on the road. P/S: Side note, just saw the KIA forte koup advert today - $59,999 .... quite affordable siah ... even lower-priced than the past pseudo-sports car - Tuscani.
  13. Maybe it's just my luck but I think I have came across quite a number of Forte or Avante drivers who have this "I am driving a luxury car" look on their face and think they own the road attitude..... JUST A FORTE OR AVANTE LAH FRIEND!!! GIVE ME I ALSO WONT DRIVE :P I am not sure whether to be disgusted or to laugh it as a big joke.. Ok RANT OVER!
  14. Went to Kia showroom. Bare Bone model Auto 1.6L $49K Full specs auto 1.6L is $53K 2L auto is $57K
  15. Some not-so-nice comments from New Sunday Times (06 December 2009) on the Naza Forte: "The 17" wheels, however, made the ride a bit harsh on rutted sufaces (the lower specced EX comes with more comfortable 15" wheels). We noticed that the Forte nose-dived quite a bit, and if one is not careful, the rear can easily step out. Lifting the right foot in mid-corner, the tail with its torsion-beam suspension started to wag like a puppy. Throw in the light steering and even the best driver will not do anything daring on a wet day with a Forte. Of course, traction control was there to keep things in check but the best is that you keep the steering straight while braking and it should be okay." Price: RM81,800 (1.6SX) OTR with insurance. Regards,
  16. www.kia-world.net/index.php/2009/03/08/more-images-of-the-2010-kia-forte-coupe-xk-hit-the-web/ Comes with all-new 1.6L Turbo with 175bhp to boot! Wonder wat happened to the 2.0 litre TC?
  17. Hi all Any ideas on the subject header? Built by Korean themselves or they bought the engine from others?
  18. Found these two interesting ads on sgcarmart. Posted by the same dealer. looks kinda of fishy to me. Dishonest dealer or they really got two white cars with such similar registration dates. http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=60064 http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=62299
  19. Today went to show room to test these 2 cars. I found that Kia forte and Avante both got weaker pick compare to my 1.5A Vios. The Avante steering wheel is so loose even when the speed goes up to 80. The SE told me its electric steering? Tested Vios and Impreza later and the sterring wheel is stiff and good. Anyone drving a Avante also feel the same looseness?
  20. Don't know if there is already a thread on this, but definately there isn't a poll on this. So come on don't be shy, take your pick. Take everything into consideration la, be it value for money, fuel consumption, design, safety, brand, factor EVERYTHING in ! I know i30 not really in the same cat as the other 2 but trust me, i've seen a lot of people comparing between these 3.
  21. Considering the 2L Forte. May be going for a test drive this weekend. Any 2.0SX owners here to share their views. What's the main difference from the 1.6 apart from larger displacement, cruise control and sunroof? Bodykits?
  22. figures from sgcarmart:- Forte 1.6A - 1326kg Chevrolet Optra Magnum Sedan 1.6A - 1180kg Honda Civic 1.6A - 1219kg Hyundai Avante 1.6A - 1172kg Mazda 3 Sedan 1.6A - 1183kg Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6 GLX (A) - 1140kg Nissan Sunny 1.6 EX (A) - 1110kg Proton Persona 1.6 (A) - 1240kg Suzuki SX4 Sedan 1.6 (A) - 1205kg Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6 (A) - 1255kg
  23. Many Forte owners are experiencing a soft knock sound when going over road humps. The sound is from the front of the car and the matter has yet to be resolved by AD. Seems like an inherent fault in the car. Any Forte owners here who have the knock sound and got it rectified?
  24. striking color. but korean hybrid........... hmmmmm unproven.
