  1. Hi, anyone out there know of any after market fuel guage? Well my sis is currently driving a Perodua Kembara and the problem is that the stock fuel guage does not have a light indicating fuel low. The advice from the manual is to top up at 3/4 tank. I find this very lame. Now when she drives she is always very conscious of fuel level. This can cause a nervous breakdown over time . regards Kooster
  2. any1 driving baby merc?just want to know where the supply fuel line on merc a class?any pic?
  3. Hi, How much is it to mod the car so that we can go to JB for pumping fuel without getting caught at the custom? What is the penalty for doing the illegal modification if get caught? How many cases were reported? Is the fuel in JB (ron 97) better or worse than ours? Thank you, Regards
  4. Hmmm...Saw this post off the Sunny delphi forums...Is what he describes true?? ============================== After adjusting the pressure, did you pull the throttle cable to check the max pressure at the guage (PBV function check) ? Off the engine, did the pressure meter drop steadly to 0 (Fuel return line efficency check) ? ============================== If yes, then maybe I will reinstall my stock fuel regulator, cos my aftermarket one seems to remain at 2 bar for a while (say several minutes) even after turning off the engine?? Or is there a clog somewhere on the return line??
  5. Hi all, I'm driving a year 2000 Accent 1.5. At 150km, my fuel gauge is at 3/4, at 250km, the fuel gauge is near to mid-way mark. Is my Accent fuel consumption high or low? What about other Accent owners, how are your fuel consumption like? Regards, limws
  6. Hi T4 Owners, Just want to get an idea of what you folks are getting in terms of fuel consumption. These are my figures : City Driving - 12.4 l/100km Long Distance - 8.8 l/100km Mixed - 9.9 l/100km regards
  7. You know those "Fuel Vitamins" that you pop into your petrol tank? Are they actually useful? My friend swears by them and says fuel economy went from 11 to 13 on them! Really meh? Anyone here try before? Each Vitamin so cheap!? But I dare not try!
  8. My car maintenance log recommend changing fuel filter at 40,000km ... Was at a mechanic the other day and asked how much it cost to change the fuel filter. He then proceed to tell me why there is no need to change fuel filter in Singapore. His theory is that, in Japan, and other temperate countries, there's 4 seasons .... during winter, the water content in the petrol will freeze and thaw when driving ... these causes lots of contamination in the fuel tank when will be captured by the fuel filter. In Singapore, there's no need to change till 5 yr old ... then explain to me that it's not that he dun want to earn my $$$, but he dun feel necessary. Come to think of it, in my previous Sunny, there's no need to change the fuel filter at all !! Comments guys ?
  9. Hi experts out there, especially Cool, I have the broquet BM30 installed on my car, recently, I have been hearing alot about the fuel magnets and was wondering if there would be a problem using these magnets on the fuel line..........for example, with the metal ore additive from the broquet clog up the fuel line where the magnets are??
  10. i'm currently using a 185/60/R14 tires on my Accent 1.5 GLS. juz wondering will changing tires improve fuel economy?
  11. Top up a full tank with BP Quantum 98 yesterday and started the dirve today. I have a 50 litre tank with the Pug 206. Upon reaching my office (20 km), the meter dropped to the next mark (about 10%)!!!. How can this happen since a Mobil 98 gives me about 13.8km/l? Will continue to monitor and will report the final result here....

  20. Have being owning the fabia for coming to a year this thursday 15/8. Last few day experiencing very good fuel consumption because the needle stay at full mark after 300 km of driving. Unfortunately, too good to be true, the fuel reading seem haywire. should be a half tank mark but the needle shows full. Yesterday, it does indicate the correct quantity but today haywire again. Look like I have to send my car down to CA b4 my warranty expire. Wonder any skoda owner experience this phenomena. Quite disappointed to experience such thing, while driving korean and jap car, don't face such problems before. One of my suspicion for the euro car is the electric and electronic, they cannot match the asian make. But body and mechanical rigidity wise they are okay. If this is the start of the 'problems" for the conti car, then I will be thinking of letting it go.
  21. Share with u guys on some research and DIY stuffs I done on my G7. I think I managed to squeeze out the best fuel consumption out from my two G7. They are now : (60% town, 40% highway average) EE101 auto - 12.3km/L (3 tanks average) AE101 auto - 12.5km/L (4 tanks average) What I did 1. Both 4A/4E engines recommend 95 Octane minimum on original preset ignition timing, I choose 92 Octane. 2. Following adjustments to use 88 Octane as instructed by Toyota manual, I retard timing back to 08 degrees as stated (ie. ECU will take 8deg-/+2deg) 3. No knocking, even at full throttle, high speed above 140km/h or town speed around 60km/h crusing, very smooth idling 4. Max speed can still be reach without any problem, slightly slower ofcoz 5. O2 sensor readout are within specs, operating temp is slightly lower but within specs too. Results: Performance slightly lower (dun really notice unless u really floor ur accelerator all the time), but 1KM extra every Litre of petrol on my EE101 and 0.8KM extra on my AE101. Average about 490km before low fuel lamp starts coming on and off which indicates another easily 120km left. I am going to stick to current settings till later. :) Manual transmission should be able to clock even better fuel consumption. BTW : I dun have SAFC

  24. Guys, my personal experience with Fitch (drop in tank type) is positive with power/throttle response but negative in fuel economy, dropped by 1km/l. Any brudders tried Fitch in tank pellets or in-line canister type before? Review pls
