I think this is a common situation which sometimes gets difficult to decide. Any views? Many thanks for your ideas. I hope other forum users will find your views helpful when deciding also.

  6. McLaren has released full details on the MP4-12C and the model's specs are definitely in line with the uncompromising performance that the supercar-maker has promised. Under the mid-rear bonnet is the M838T power plant in the McLaren MP4-12C - a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces a total of 600 PS (441 kW / 592 bhp) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. The MP4-12C does the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in 3.3 seconds (3.1 with special Corsa tires) and has a top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph). 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) comes in at 9.1 seconds, 8.9 with the Corsa racing tires. The MP4-12C's MonoCell carbon-fiber chassis, which weights only 75 kg (165 lbs), helps makes for a sprightly vehicle that could weigh-in as low as 1301 kg (2868 lbs) with the lightweight options that McLaren will make available once the model goes on sale. Transmission on the MP4-12C is a seven-speed SSG gearbox which offers three drive modes: Normal, Sport and Track. The MP4-12C also comes with adjustable roll control, which replaces mechanical anti-roll bars, and the new supercar features a suspension control module with 3 modes too, Normal, Sport and Track, just as with the transmission but which acts independently of the gearbox setting. "I am immensely proud of the 12C development team. I don't believe any car company in the world has put as much effort, innovation, passion and sheer determination into launching a car as McLaren has with the 12C...Both in simulation, and in the real world on road and track, we have gone to extremes to ensure the 12C stands up to the performance and quality we know our prospective customers demand," said Antony Sheriff, McLaren Automotive's Managing Director, in a statement. McLaren is currently still testing the MP4-12C with four prototypes having gone on the road for further tests in Portugal and Spain just last month. The MP4-12C will be available through a network of 35 retailer locations in 19 countries at a price of around $229,000 in the US and about
  7. Labour chief Lim Swee Say says NTUC is moving towards a more pro-worker stance in the light of a full-employment economy. --PHOTO: BT THE NTUC is moving towards a more pro-worker stance in the light of a full-employment economy and is thinking of suggesting more measures to tighten the supply of foreign workers. The labour movement also wants to be more transparent about its internal discussions with the Government and employers so Singaporeans can appreciate the trade-offs made in positions taken on worker issues, said labour chief Lim Swee Say on Monday. 'While it is important for Singapore to be first in global competition, of growing importance is that Singaporeans come first in our local employment ...this is the best of both worlds that Singaporeans are expecting,' Mr Lim said. Mr Lim also said that the NTUC is thinking of pushing for a cap on the number of foreigners in white-collar jobs as well as to make a company's access to foreign workers conditional on it raising productivity or hiring older workers

  17. As topic, I engaged a quite reputable polisher who provided doorstep service but due to the nearing of CNY they decided to make it the other way round meaning you have to go to their place. Well I'm fine with it, so i booked a slot with them and they were supposed to get back to me to confirm the bookings which they never did. I then took the initiative to call them and then ask whether my car is do-able since it has a body decal. The replied was "yes" . The day before my unconfirmed appointment, I got this sms from them saying "We can't do it for you because your car is full of decal". This is my first time attempting to get a polish for my car so I dunno any about it. So is this true ? Anyway my decal is those glossy type.

  20. DENVER - USA - A full body scanner operator was caught masturbating during a scanning session by airport staff late Tuesday. Airport officials at Denver International airport were on high alert yesterday when a full body scanner operator was caught masturbating in his booth as a team of High School netball players went through the scanner. "The young ladies were going through the scanner one by one, and every time one went through, this guys face was getting redder and redder. His hand was moving and then he started sweating. He was then seen doing his 'O' face. That's when the security dragged him out of his booth and cuffed him. He had his pants round his ankles and everybody was really disgusted," Jeb Rather, a passenger on a flight to New York told CBS news. The controversial scanners display every minute detail of a person's body and have been called intrusive by privacy campaigners. Body scanners penetrate clothing to provide a highly detailed image so accurate that critics have likened it to a virtual porn shoot. Technologies vary, with millimeter wave systems capturing highly detailed pictures of genitals, and backscatter X-ray machines able to show precise anatomical detail. The U.S. government likes the idea because body scanners can detect concealed weapons better than traditional magnetometers. "What do you want to do, get blown up by a goddamn Arab at 30,000 feet or we get to see your private parts? It's up to you, the ball's in your park," head of the TSA's scanning department, Rodney Schroeder, told CNN. http://www.dailysquib.co.uk/?c=124&a=2389

  23. Here is my sad and painful story: I met with an accident with Mr Chong Say Ting, driver of SFC9973X in July 2009. He tried to drive away after hitting my car. I chased him and we exchanged details. He lied in his insurance reporting report, thus he was made 100% liability of this accident. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=my7DZ1w2rSg On 16th Jan 2010, my car was badly vandalized with all four tires punctured. On 30th Jan 2010, my car was again scratched with all four tires punctured. But this time, I caught him (Mr Chong Say Ting) on my car camera doing the act. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pN704en7xoY On 18th Feb 2010, my car was again scratched with all four tires punctured. It was Mr Chong Say Ting caught on my car camera doing the act again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROTuWLQ1DOI All three cases, police report was made. And finally, police decided not to prosecute Mr Chong Say Ting but to give him a
  24. Victor Muller has revealed more details about Saab's future product lineup. Speaking with InsideLine, Muller stated the 2013 (or 2014) 9-2 will be "stunning to look at, ingenious and an outstanding premium product." It will ride on a shortened version of the 9-3 platform or a platform from another automaker. Pricing will be 10% higher than the MINI Cooper and sales are expected to total 30,000 to 60,000 units annually. Later this year, the company will introduce a facelifted 9-3. In 2011, Saab will launch the 9-4X crossover (April), the 9-5 Sport Combi (June), and a new 1.6-liter turbocharged engine. For 2012, the company will unveil a redesigned 9-3 which will ride on a modified version of the current Epsilon I platform. Further out, a 9-3 Hybrid will be introduced and an electric vehicle will be launched by 2016. If everything goes according to plan, Muller expects Saab will be profitable in 2012 with sales totaling 120,000 to 125,000 units. Source: insideline
