  4. I'm flying to KL for a short holiday soon, bought Air Asia tickets long ago. Few days ago received email and SMS that my return flight is rescheduled to more than 2 hours earlier, which means that I'll have to wake up very early to catch the flight back to SG, which is certainly a mood spoiler. I want to change to a later flight back to SG. There was a malaysia number to call and a password that is supposed to get me to an agent, tried calling but got error message 'invalid or incorrect password' after keying in the password. I'm sure I keyed in correctly. Tried the 'live chat' function on their website, but there was no one attending to me after a long wait. Have just tried to email them, hope to get a reply soon. Anyone had similar experience before? I flew by Air Asia once or twice before and had no problems with it. Think this might be my last time flying with them, flight can get rescheduled as and when they like? What if it disrupts our travel plans? And seems like no customer service provided. Ok don't remind me it's budget. And for those who are thinking about flying with them, may need to reconsider.

  8. Have you know of anyone who DID not get a car after they sign the contract? If they did not get after six bids, did they top up and eventually got their car? If they cancel the contract, did they go to another dealer to get another car?" Has any of the above case FAILED and the potantial car buyer till today is still carless (using public transport) My innocent thought on this COE issue....... if over the past 20 years 100% of car buyers DID get to own their cars eventually. THEN WHERE THE FARK IS THE OVER DEMAND(or UNDER SUPPLY). I have not known of anyone who PERMANENTLY gave up car/motorbike ownership because of failure to get COE! Once a person sign and make up their mind to own a car....I think 100% of them eventually get it....be it six bids later or second hand car!!! SO WHERE THE FARK IS THE OVER DEMAND(or UNDER SUPPLY) THAT CAUSE THE COE TO SPIKE UP SO HIGH. I mean had the car buyers cooperate....we could all be driving $1 COE. The system itself is creating FEAR and KIASU....making us pay thru our nose for an item that 100% of car buyers eventually get it!!! That is my conclusion that COE is purely a money making system, feeding on kiasu and fear!!! P.S. those that did not get the COE after six rounds......they may try again with another car brand....but in the end still get their car after 12th bids(6months) max!!
  9. Hi, i was driving my previous car for 2years, no early scraping or selling off. I was supposed to have 20% NCD upon renewal, even had a email from them telling me that it's 20% upon renewal. I've decided to scrap my car at the end of 2years and bought another car few months after. The problem arises here, my new car is going to be insured by another insurance company and they told me that I only had 10% NCD. I lan lan get the insurance with 10% NCD and now waiting for them to give me my another 10%. Hope will get the refund of that 10%. Any guru here can tell me if im supposed to have 10% or 20%?
  10. Taken from http://sg.news.yahoo.com/afp/20090728/tts-...be-972e412.html LOS ANGELES (AFP) - - Michael Jackson's doctor administered the powerful drug police believed killed the music superstar, CNN quoting a source with knowledge of the investigation reported.ADVERTISEMENT Doctor Conrad Murray has become the focus of the probe into Jackson's death amid reports that bottles of the potent anesthetic propofol were found at the star's mansion after his tragic June 25 demise. A report on CNN's website did not give further information and a spokeswoman for Murray's legal team refused to comment. A spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department also declined to comment. Jackson's cause of death has been deferred pending the outcome of toxicology tests following a June 25 post mortem. Those test results could be released later this week. The report comes just days after federal agents and detectives swooped without warning on Murray's Houston office, revealing for the first time in a search warrant that Jackson's death was being treated as possible manslaughter. Propofol is used in hospitals to induce unconsciousness in patients ahead of major surgery. Experts say it should only be administered by a trained anesthesiologist and there could be no reason for it to be in Jackson's home. Lawyers for Murray said in a statement last week the doctor was keen to assist authorities in their investigation and was preparing for a third meeting with police after two earlier interviews. "The coroner wants to clear up the cause of death, we share that goal," attorney Ed Chernoff said in a statement. Murray is currently in Las Vegas, his legal team said, and Chernoff insisted that "based on Dr Murray's minute-by-minute and item-by-item description of Michael Jackson's last days, he should not be a target of criminal charges. "Dr Murray was the last doctor standing when Michael Jackson died and it seems all the fury is directed toward him," Chernoff said. "Dr Murray is frustrated by negative and often erroneous media reports, he has to walk around 24-7 with a bodyguard. He can't operate his practice." In the immediate aftermath of Jackson's death, friends of the singer's family said the clan had "unanswered questions" regarding Murray. "They (the family) are suspicious of this doctor and they have real reason to be because any other doctor would say 'Here's what happened in the last hour of his life and I was there. I gave him some medicine,'" family friend and civil rights activist Jesse Jackson said. "(Murray) owes it to the family and to the public to say, 'These were the last hours of Michael's life and here's what happened.' That's a reasonable expectation."
  11. Thu Apr 3, 6:36 PM ET LEWISTON, Maine - Police are searching for a man accused of shoving an electric guitar in his pants and walking out of a store in Lewiston, Maine. Police say the theft occurred last week and they're looking for three men. One of the men shoved a Fender Stratocaster in his pants and pulled a sweatshirt over the top. The other two acted as lookouts. All three can be seen on footage from video surveillance. Strangely enough, the music shop has seen the method before. A man did the same thing in 2006 but was caught as he tried to walk out. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080403/ap_on_...DxpUo0P8LIuQE4F
  12. http://newpaper.asia1.com.sg/news/story/0,...,150906,00.html? SHE flashed a finger, he claimed, and then gave him a ride on her car bonnet. Her alleged rude gesture after a near accident, and what followed, has now become a police case. Businessman Guo Tian Fu, 36, claimed that he was driving along Cluny Road opposite the Botanic Gardens at 1.40pm last Wednesday. Behind his vehicle was a blue BMW 3-series. According to him, as both cars were driving past Lermit Lodge, off Cluny Road, the BMW stopped suddenly at the T-junction to turn right into Lermit Road. Mr Guo said he was about one-and-a-half car lengths behind the BMW driver when she made the abrupt turn. 'It was so sudden for me, I sounded my horn at her,' he recalled. RUDE GESTURE 'She showed me her middle finger on her left hand when she held it up at her rear-view mirror.' Furious, he followed her car into Lermit Road and overtook her on the two-way single-lane road. He wanted to get her particulars, he claimed, because of the near-miss. Click to see larger image He stopped his year-old Mercedes Benz in front of her car. He added that he overtook her only when there was no oncoming traffic. Mr Guo, who is married with a 6-year-old son, said: 'I wanted to make a report because it's so dangerous to stop your car suddenly. 'What if she had caused an accident?' He was also angry because of the rude gesture. 'You don't expect that from a woman,' he said, adding that he had intended to go to the police station after taking down her particulars. He said the woman was in her late 30s and was alone in her vehicle when he approached her. He claimed he asked her to exchange particulars and asked why she had shown him her middle finger. But, he said, she raised her right hand and showed him her middle finger again. She allegedly told him: 'Prove it then.' Mr Guo then returned to his car to take his handphone, which is equipped with a camera, to take a photo of the woman and her car. She could not be traced to give her side of the encounter. Mr Guo claimed that as he was getting his phone, the woman reversed her car and tried to get back on the road. He said he was standing in front of her car and tried taking pictures of her licence plate, but she kept inching forward so he had to take a few steps back several times. Then, he claimed, things took a turn for the worse. He said he felt her licence plate touching his leg. 'Everything happened very quickly, in less than a minute,' he said. 'When I tried to take a photo of her, she accelerated towards me. 'I had no choice but to jump onto her car and I ended up sitting on it.' He said he used his hands to support himself as the car moved with his back facing the driver. He reckoned she was driving between 10kmh and 20kmh. Mr Guo said: 'She was speeding off and I panicked. It was quite scary.' He said she drove for about 5m to 10m before he jumped off, hurting his right ankle in the process. CALLED POLICE He said he did not see a doctor as it was 'not serious'. But Mr Guo did call the police, who arrived in a patrol car. A witness, who was at a nearby private apartment, also gave his statement to the two police officers. The painter, who wanted to be identified only as Desmond, 25, said he was on the third storey of the scaffolding at the private apartment when he heard the sound of a car horn. He turned to look and was surprised to see a man on the bonnet of a BMW. He said: 'I was not sure what was happening. The car was moving quite slowly. He just jumped off and the driver drove off. 'I did not see the driver of the car.' A police spokesman confirmed a report had been lodged by Mr Guo. They are looking into the matter. Mr Guo's account is similar to a fatal confrontation near Wheelock Place in April when financial adviser Alex Lim, 30, tried to block a taxi driver from driving off after an accident. Mr Guo said he did think about that incident after his brush with the woman, but felt he had to do what he did. He said: 'I don't regret what I did. 'But I feel if drivers have a dispute they cannot resolve, they should call the police.'
