  1. Looks like panic setting in.... http://www.straitstimes.com/GeneralElectio...ory_660601.html Funny, I don't remember him ever apologising for the fiasco. He did not even stand corrected. And what's this about taking responsibility for it? What actions did he undertake in the name of taking responsibility?
  2. Bro, Who is playing Modern Warfare 2 or Battlefield 2 on PS3? anyone going to get Battlefield 3 for PS3? Check out this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uA378g_gD1I
  3. i received this in my PM who i dun even know ..... what should such message be classified as? moreover, just use one brain and you know it won't happen on 23 April!
  4. Just curious how much will everyone be getting this May Does the majority really falls in the 600 group ?

  6. I was amazed for the first time all the cars at my area cp parking illegally while returning home after sending wife to work were summoned . Parking has always being a great problem at my area with increasing approval for season car holders via limited number of parking lots. Open space carpark is already full at time as early as 9pm in the evening especially for some who returns home late from work has no choice but to park their car illegally however in their best discretion not to cause obstruction to other neighbors . We are all legal season holders mind you. Simple theory applies: 20 parking lots available while 50 season tickets were issued. Some may argue the fact that buying season ticket doesn't Amt to the fact that you will get a lot??? At the end of the day , still gotten summoned ????? Justifible ???? You are a parking warden and saw numerous cars parking illegally at a particular cp but upon scanning the tag discovered drivers are actually season ticket holders. What does it tells you especially seeing carpark is fully packed at that point of time???? One thing i know for such that who ever you are and whatever mindset you may have at that point of time, a big AngBao expected end of the month for you in the expense of law abiding citizens . Perhaps we should think twice voting for you know who this year????
  7. Here's a hypothetical question. You're crossing the road, the lights are in your favor. And a bus turning left at the junction, runs into you, and over you. You're bleeding, your hip is shattered, driver admits fault. What is the recourse? I've read that a similar accident happened to a maid and bus company only paid 10grand. Maid died btw.
  8. Hi bros out there, have been riding for the last 5 years, and finally planning to get a 4 wheeler. I hope with ur experience and suggestion, i will be making a fast and a wiser decision. I have been scouting in the mart online for the pass few weeks, and was very tempt to get a close to 4 years old Latio Sports. Price Tag was around 40k. I worked out the maths and realise i will be paying about $460 monthly if i were to downpayment 10k. OMV was about 16k. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Then there after i when to the auto mart at ubi.. saw a couple of latio sports, 2009 model, price tag around 55k. OMV 18k Worked out the maths again with 10k downpayment and 8.5 years loan, monthly approx $510. Difference of 50 bucks monthly, and can drive 3 years more. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I also got fren who advices me not to put any downpayment. But I was thinking if i have got 0 downpayment, monthly will be quite xiong for me. So to down or not to down?? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I believe these are some of the questions that are not only bugging me, but to those newbies who are interested in getting a ride in this COE insane period. Ur opinion is appreciated! Hope fellow forumer can help, and give me some guidance. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  9. Hi everyone I was thinking of getting a 2nd car from a direct owner rather than getting it from the 2nd hand dealer because it seems cheaper. Anyone knows what are the things I need to watch out for or do? Thanks in advance.
  10. I think I just saw the latest breed of TP WRX. No markings except for 'Police' on both sides, NO light bar except for a little detachable rotating one plus the usual flashing lights behind the front grille. Other than that, it looks like an innocuous white civillian WRX...BE WARNED! Anyone else seen it before? I just saw it this morning @ 1005hrs with a black Vios stopped in front of it along Eunos Link in front of Eunos Technolink. The officers were copying down the driver's particulars. Sorry I wasn't able to take any pics of it...would've really loved to...bloody good disguise...you won't be able to tell it's a TP WRX from behind...I couldn't!
  11. Need help in getting out of midvalley shopping centre to E2 NS Hwy. Getting in is not so difficult as getting out of the place.
  12. Samsung Galaxy S getting Android 2.2 Froyo update now Posted by Affan on October 15, 2010 Samsung has started rolling out Android 2.2 Froyo update for Samsung Galaxy S worldwide. Some of Galaxy S users in Norway, Denmark and Sweden reported that they have already received the update. Previously Samsung announced that it will be available from mid of October, hitting first European users, followed by Southeast Asia, the Middle East Asia, North America, Africa and rest of the world. All you have to do is wait for it, as Samsung has sold more than 5 million of these devices, so it will take a little time. The Samsung Galaxy S already got hotspot capabilities and 720p video recording, so the key enhancements that it will bring to the device will be improved performance levels on Galaxy S, JIT (Just in Time) compiler and Adobe Flash Player 10.1. The other enhancements include Google Maps with Navigation meaning GPS navigation system with voice guidance, New Android Market with auto-updating, Pinch-to-zoom home screen flyover, improved default keyboard, Video records in MP4 format, New Search widget, Gmail application and Colored icons in settings. The Android 2.2 update is available via Kies (link below), which is Samsung

  14. There is an incident which I like to relate which "geniuinely" happened to a guy friend of mine. Most of you know of site wholivesnearyou and there was once when my guy friend P.M this girl (Average looking to me, a bit churbby) wanting to chat out and maybe be friends because thinking the girl has similar interest as to collecting stamps. He went on say "HI" nice stamp collection you have there , care to chat thing but was shocked to receive reply like "Have you look yourself nto the mirror lately..." so on. Tho I cant really confirm the actually conversation both typed but the contents of what the girl replied pisses me off!!!!My friend isnt the kind of guy who make stories, rather ernest and nice friend. Yes I agree, my friend 's not very good looking but this is no way to treat a friend?? Maybe you guys may say stuff like"Get a life"!!! are you living under the rock all this while ????? Nope , Im fully aware of the battle of the looks thing going online and even friends making. Us guys are good at looking at the face when making or jio ing girls, but hence am suprised at the rate Singaporean girl had evolved ???? My time in the early 20 century , girls are still pretty approachable and are willing to give out emails some HP numbers .Some may igbore but never splat at ya like what the girl did. Haizzz.... Some of my girl friends too agreed that mostly Singaporean girls on friends making web site are getting mighty materialistic and stuck up nowadays. As mentioned before, am fully aware of whats going on but just feel kinda DULAN cos maybe he is my friend ba. No wonder more and more guys going for foreign brides .Maybe this be the beginnig of a wake up call for local girls????? Come to think of it , in comparison to looks , characters and attitude towards taking care of the family, why go for local if foreign girls are less demanding with equal status eg: Looks, figure etc etc ...... ha ha ha Come to think of it, nearly 80% of my guys friend's wives are foreign...malaysia,china,Thai,VIT etc etc .... Kindly share if anyone encounters similar or feels the same as me????? [rolleyes]
  15. Any kind soul out there can advise me where i can buy dry ice ? Thanks, DoNnuTs
  16. Is Your Car Getting You More Traffic Tickets? by Joseph B. White Wednesday, October 20, 2010 wsjlogo.gif At a stoplight, a woman in her 20s driving a red Pontiac Grand Am pulls up next to a 50-something man behind the wheel of a black Mercedes SL convertible. Which one of those two is more likely to get a traffic ticket? The guy in the Mercedes -- especially if he's from out of town. If motorists could predict when and why they would be singled out by a police officer to get a traffic ticket, they'd have a lot less aggravation in their lives. A study released this month of which vehicle models get the most tickets -- and some older research on the judgments police officers make when issuing traffic citations -- offer some intriguing clues as to which drivers are most likely to get pulled over. The data suggest that people who buy expensive, high-performance luxury cars want to get what they paid for -- or at least can't resist the temptation to test their car's capabilities when an open road beckons. Younger drivers in flashy SUVs or sporty small cars are still ticket magnets, too. But in a sign of how the auto market has changed since the muscle-car era of the 1960s, the new list of the most ticketed "spirited vehicles" includes just two Detroit names, both now defunct: the Hummer line of big, bold SUVs and the Pontiac Grand Prix sedan, a car that sought to recapture some of that brand's hot-rod legacy. wsj.most.jpgwsj.least.jpg Quality Planning, a unit of Verisk Analytics, serves the insurance industry by analyzing and verifying the claims motorists make when applying for auto insurance. The company checks into such questions as who is driving the car, how far it is likely to be driven, and where the car is garaged overnight. It also digs into whether motorists are being truthful about their driving records. All of this information and more goes into calculating the insurance premium motorists are charged. Bob U'Ren, a Quality Planning senior vice president, says the company combed through data on about two million cars to see which models racked up the most moving violations. The average is 0.2 moving violation per 100,000 miles driven, or one for every 500,000 miles, he says. The most ticketed model line of all: Mercedes SL, whose drivers collect four times that many tickets, on average, the Quality Planning research found. The Mercedes SL 550 Roadster has a 382 horsepower, V-8 engine and starts at $102,600. Two other high-powered Mercedes models -- the 507-horsepower CLS 63 AMG sedan and the CLK 63 AMG coupe -- made the Top 10. Among the others with violation rates well above average: Four small cars aimed at younger drivers, the Scion tC and xB, the Acura Integra and the Volkswagen GTI. No. 2 on the list was the Toyota Camry Solara convertible -- a car favored by middle-aged women, according to the data. Rounding out the list of what Quality Planning called spirited vehicles were the Hummer line -- the large H3 and the super-sized H2 -- and the Pontiac Grand Prix. On the other end of the spectrum, the list of "cautious" vehicles is dominated by sedate SUVs, minivans and more sensible cars. The least-ticketed model is the now discontinued Buick Rainier SUV, whose average driver is 61 years old. As to why certain combinations of drivers and cars attract the attention of police officers, Mr. U'Ren says his company's mission isn't psychology, and isn't implying the ticketing was faulty. But this list of ticket magnets suggests that high-performance cars -- or vehicles that cultivate a brash image such as the Hummer -- attract drivers who enjoy driving fast, or pushing the envelope in other ways. The one car that doesn't quite fit this mold is the Scion xB -- a boxy urban mini-wagon with a 158 horsepower, four-cylinder engine. The xB's young drivers -- the average driver is 37 years old -- got tickets at about 2.7 times the average, according to Quality Planning's data. New data from the Highway Loss Data Institute, which tracks information on insurance claims, including theft and accident damage, finds that some of the vehicles that had higher-than-average violation rates also have higher-than-average insurance losses. The Mercedes SL-class has an average ranking from the institute for overall insurance losses, but is worse than average on collision and comprehensive coverage losses. The Mercedes CLS and Scion tC are rated worse than average overall in their vehicle class. The Mercedes SL's No. 1 ranking on the list of most-ticketed cars may seem surprising, given the mature, highly successful people who own them. Quality Planning puts the average age of an SL driver at 53. Mercedes-Benz says they're more likely 57 -- and eight of 10 are men. But stereotypes about age-appropriate behavior are shattered every day as baby boomers age. With so few Mercedes SL models on the road, maybe police officers just want a closer look. According to separate -- and quite different research -- by two George Mason University economists, "spirited" drivers would do well to push the limit close to where they live. They studied traffic citations issued in Massachusetts and concluded that out-of-towners caught speeding were more likely to get a ticket -- and a higher proposed fine -- than people who lived in town. Moreover, cities with budget shortfalls tended to hand out more, and heftier, traffic fines. It helps a lot, however, to be a young woman, says one of the economists, Thomas Stratmann. Younger women were nearly 33% less likely to get a ticket than men, according to the data the researchers sampled. However, Mr. Stratmann says, once women reach about 75 years old, the advantage disappears. For the full list of the most and least ticketed vehicles see Quality Planning's website. 17. Hi everyone! I have trying to improve my driving style to improve FC. Thus asking you guys for some tips on improving my FC. What RPM do you all usually change your gear at? Do you prefer to step lighter on the accelerator at a lower gear or step harder on a higher gear (i.e. something like dragging engine at low RPM vs light acceleration at high RPM). Do you quickly accelerate to highest gear and then cruise or slowly accelerate and change gear? Thanks for the help!

  20. hey guys, anyone took loan from your company before? interest free or with interest?? what's the pros and cons of doing so?
  21. hi guys, I need some advice from you guys. Fedex made a screw up and this is having a major effect on my business. here's the info: I'm a very small company manufacturing/ selling products related to car audio ( some of you guys here know me personally or some of u guys have my products in your car). Now, my main market is overseas as singapore is just too small and i've succeeded in expanding overseas. To make my brand bigger, i've successfully managed to sponsor a very famous person in my industry. Basically he is a world champion and world record holder in my industry and he will be endorsing my product and brand. He is highly respected and basically, he is the champion in the competition scene. At the end of May, when we finalised the endorsement deal, I sent up around 60kg worth of product to him via Fedex. I usually use Singpost EMS, but this being important, i rather pay premium and use Fedex. Now, goods went out rough 29th May and reach the destination country ( Brazil) on the 1st of June and customs were processing it on the 2nd June. Brazilian customs are a**holes and usually take 2 weeks to process. on the 3rd week of June, I heard nothing and got my guys in Brazil to check things out. I later found out my goods were confiscated by customs as they were deemed " for resale value". At no time did Fedex bother to call me up and tell me whats going on. On further probing, I was later told to hire my own customs broker to clear the goods in Brazil. I had my guys in Brazil on standby with the broker to clear the goods. The broker has personally been down to the Fedex Office in brazil to try and clear the goods but he is unable to do it as he does not have the paper work. They ( my guys in Brazil)have been chasing Fedex through the month of July. Come early August, my guys in Brazil have exhausted all their means to get my goods and told me to do something. I called Fedex Singapore, only to learn that they were seriously " back dated", telling me to hire my own customs broker to clear the goods. i blasted the hell out of them all and was finally referred to their manager and I finally got the update on the info: my goods are with the Brazilian customs. The paper work for the goods are also with the customs. Only Fedex Brazil can take back the paper work from the customs as my broker is not authorised to. We got the number of the clearance manager in Brazil ( fedex) but my guys there still cant get hold of him. Now my sponsor guy is considering dropping my brand due to this issue and i'm gonna be in BIG SH1T for this. Basically, imagine if you manufacture engines and u get Lewis Hamilton to endorse your products, only to have fedex screw thins up for u. I'm at my wits end, Fedex Main office is in KL. Anyone here knows anyway how to help me out. I'm short of going to the media with this as this is seriously causing big problems for my business. Thanks in advance guys Cheers
  22. Correct me if I am wrong, I get the impression that MBS is receiving much more coverage than RWS. Even our MM attended MBS's opening. Who was the guest of honour when RWS opened its doors? I wonder why.
  23. boring, or are we watching the show at its deathbed?
