  1. 1. too many G plate cars out there ! even after working hours, or on a sunday, you can see crowding out at the usual leisure/entertainment places and carparks. 2. quite a number have kids in them - especially on weekends. its usually not as safe as the back row of cars. 3. many are now overspilling out of the leftmost lane all the time. especially since now they can go up to 60, 70 kmh, can stay on the second fastest lane on a four lane expressway. 4. some turbo diesels are going quite fast and overtaking quite alot - sure its within limits but van versus car... quite an unfair battle especially when the car driver has got more to lose (cost and personal heartache for his personal car). OK - rant over....
  2. Hi All, In reply to the post Goods vehicles - too many and getting out of hand ? There is people wondering if goods vehicle travelling on center lane is agianst the law or not. So due to my curiousity, i mailed LTA for better info. Even i myself do drive my company lorry at times as well, so i though might be good to share with those who did also. Dear Mr Wong, Goods Vehicle (SE - Mountbatten) FEEDBACK NUMBER: 490716 We refer to your email dated 21/06/2007. We would like to share with you that under the Road Traffic (expressway traffic) Rules, vehicle which has speed limit of 60kmph and below shall be driven along the left hand lane of the expressway except when overtaking another vehicle or passing an obstruction or in compliance with any traffic or directional sign. Hence, motorists that contravene the specified rule mentioned above can be subjected to enforcement action carried out by the Traffic Police. We hope that we have addressed to your query and thank you for writing in. Yours sincerely, (SIGNED IN LOTUS NOTES) YEONG WHYE KWOK ENGINEER, TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT (TRAFFIC SCHEMES) TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT TRANSPORTATION
