  1. Hi all, Currently, I'm using Shinco GM3510 (I think) which is using mapking and Malsingmap. It has faithfully served me for past 5 years and I have to finally 'decommission' it due to the lack of map update (last update was year 2009). Now, start to look around for a new GPS and wow, so many models around . I just have a few simple requirements: 1) Fast GPS satellites lock on (On average? 'Cos depends on satellites, but worst & rare case less than 30s) 2) Lifetime map update with latest SG & MY POIs 3) Correct routing for both SG and MY (I travel up north occasionally) 4) Search by Postal codes for SG 5) 3D Junction View (think it is a must when travelling up north as some of their filter lanes is like few hundred metres long) So far, I searched and found the following common models: - Garmin 2465 - Marbella M990+ - Papago R5800 Can any owner of the above models provide your review (based on the above listed requirement)? Or if you own other models, pls provide your review as well. Appreciate alot!!!
  2. Today was my 2nd day using GPS navigator passing thru the CTE tunnel, to my surprise, it is still functioning despite being inside the tunnel. The tunnel I am referring to is the one before "Orchard Rd" exit. does it mean after 2016, the satellite ERP will be implemented?
  3. hi, i am thinking of buying a gps holder for my 4.3' gps. thinking of getting those non-suction type. Anyone got lobang ??( pm or sms me at 98288336)
  4. Entertaining the idea of installing one. Have always depended on a quick flip of the street directory or my OC as a scout if I am not sure of the way. Too many new roads and buildings keepn popping out and I am always lost in the Tuas area. Could be time to install a Garmin. Anyone with a GPS end up regreting or not using it much?
  5. Anyone knows where to get the map for Garmin set?
  6. Guys... Noob question here. Just bought a GPS from COMEX today and it comes pre-loaded with Navteq and Malsing. Should I use only one of them or can I use both at the same time?
  7. Anyone knows how to search a location by just keying in the Latitude and Longitude . I never used this method before, any bros know how to do it?
  8. I heard from some source that the government has awarded to a contractor to implement GPS ERP. It seems that testing was done in India, not in Singapore and just after the GE Is this sneaky or what?
  9. http://www.idcgps.com/shop/ Anyone knows is such items available in Singapore? I am going on a Europe tour, free and easy. So lots of walking around the city and small lanes. I think this small gadget would be great to help me to get back to my hotel or meeting point should I get disoriented from anyhow walking and checking out the city. This gadget can memories three set location....and will show you the direction to get back when lost. This gadget is small and compact. I have a garmin 205 for my car....can it work in Europe without the maps installed? I just need to lock in the reference point, start walking around exploring...and get back to the reference point. Can my garmin do it without the map? Thanks.

  14. I have a question here. When you try to travel from Singapore to a certian location to Johore bahru, you will always get the Iphone map indicating that you must take the Tuas 2nd link, then you can reach your location, even though it will be easier for you to get to the location using the Woodlands check point. Any reason why ? and how can i get over this problem ?

  18. Hi Guys, I will be driving up to Kukup this weekend for a short getaway. However, i'm unfamiliar on the way to Kukup via 2nd link. I tried searching online for direction and it seems to be quite a easy task to do it but i would also take the direction my GPS to assist me just in case i needed it. However, i can't seems to find kukup's address in my GPS neither the coordination number found online. Coordination No: 1

Anyone realised that most GPS does not include warning for red light camera? We have to key it in as Fav or POI manually... anyone has the list of coordinates? I have tried Papa,Sygic, Navigon, tomtom, etc....
  21. Hi all, When I got my car, I had a 3rd party GPS + reverse camera installed. The GPS was horrible to begin with (Damn slow locking time, it can take up to 10 full minutes just for a steady GPS lock) and now I am looking for another GPS set with an AV input, for my reverse camera input. Does anyone know any recommended brands for such a device? In short, I need GPS with an AV input. Thanks loads
  22. we went to collect our new continental car from the collection centre but found 2 issues whilst checking it. 1. HID headlights will fog up on the inside of the lens. AD did a 1 for 1 replacement but the problem is not solved. 2. built-in GPS cant locate some addresses which have been ard for 4 years AD claims that GPS will never have 100 percent map coverage AD was not able to rectify the issues any further thus we had to take delivery of the car. Is fogging inside the headlight a normal occurence or a design flaw from factory? Has anyone had trouble with their GPS locating address that are not new?
