  3. Hi all, Let's say i am buying a 2nd hand car tomorrow, can i buy the car under my name, put the insurer's name under my dad and the named driver as me? Point to note: i am currently unemployed but i will pay the car in full, my dad is working in overseas permanently and he will need to fly back to Singapore to sign the insurer form if he's allowed to. But if he can't, can i sign on his behalf using his name of course assuming i will have a photocopy of his identification documents? (which by the way, i assume an umemployed person will not be able to sign the insurer form using his/her own name) Thanks.
  4. Hi all, Let's say if i have 30k on hand now, can i walk into the car mart and buy a car? Means i pay them in full and drive off without any issues? Any hidden charges or admin fees if i do that? I would prefer a small hatchback car that gets me from point A to point B like a Suzuki Swift. Any recommendations? Thanks for advise.

  6. Then how can this happen???? SINGAPORE: Singapore is expected to be one of the worst-impacted economies in Asia, should the eurozone enter into a full-blown crisis. This is according to a Credit Suisse report released on Thursday. Singapore's exports to the eurozone directly account for more than 12 per cent of its GDP, and private sector holdings of eurozone debt and equities are the highest in the world outside of Hong Kong. In addition, eurozone banks also make up a bigger proportion of domestic bank lending in Singapore than other Asian economies. The uncertainty in Europe has sent jitters across the Singapore stock market, with the Straits Times Index (STI) continuing to extend losses. The key benchmark index ended 0.5% or 13.07 points lower at 2,773.81 on Thursday as it struggles to find solace in the European debt crisis. But for investors with a mid-to-longer term horizon, some analysts said the time could be ripe for selective bargain hunting for defensive stocks, such as REITS and selected blue chips like CapitaLand, which have seen prices beaten down by the current volatility. Head of premium client management at IG Markets, Jason Hughes, said: "The valuations you're seeing at the moment, in terms of historic levels, are quite attractive for longer-term investors to try and pick up stocks in this time. "We're seeing a lot of people focused on high-yielding stocks. So for someone who is focused on holding for two, three or even longer years, then now is the time to start picking up these shares at this price." Meanwhile, others prefer to stay away, in the lead up to big market-swinging announcements. These include the June 17 Greek elections, European and US consumer prices results and US jobless claims. Co-head of research at DMG & Partners Research, Leng Seng Choon, said: "We are still going to see a fair bit of volatility in the equity market with a downward bias. Waiting for clearer signs that the debt problem in Europe is going to see some firm action, which will lead to a longer-term solution, would be a better time (to invest)." The outcomes of the G20 summit and EU Summit later this month are also expected to impact Asian stock markets. - CNA/wm
  7. Managed to catch a glimpse of the news on TV today 27th April 2012. I thought I saw a hand gesture to indicate LeeKwanYew. I could be wrong. Anyone knows what is the hand sign?
  8. Visa Lee's Photos This hand belongs to my 4 years old nephew. We need witnessess from the pushing case that happened yesterday (29/03/12) around 3 odd pm at Ang mo Kio station escalator. We need witnesses to step forward to catch the person who push him down the escalator and lefted the poor boy with his left hand stuck in the escalator! And this little boy is my nephew. He is now having 18 stitches on his small fingers! For your info, he is left-handed. We are worried if he is able to use his left hand again. Imagine the amount of pain inflicted on him, his parents and us. Please help me to share so that witnessess can step forward to contact us. No, I do not earn anything if you are willing to share. I am hereby begging your help to arrest that horrible person who did this to my little nephew. Please.

  16. Hi all, Is it worth to buy a 2nd hand car with 4 years COE left? If the car is in pretty good condition, average mileage used and reasonable price (eg honda integar for 45k)? Thanks
  17. Hi Bros, I am actually looking to replace my year 06 car with a year 08 or 09 2nd hand auto car, but there are so many different registered date cars for me to compare... Really headache at first... Now I just basically look at the monthly installment and the registered year, but again.... I found that nowaday 2nd hand car price are really at very high side.. Example : 1) Honda Fit 08 - 09 approxi $750 to $850 per mth New Fit installment roughly around $900 per mth. 2) Kia Cerato Forte 09 - 10 approxi $770 to $830 per mth New Forte ( 6 speed Auto ) roughly around $860 per mth. 3) Toyota Vios 08 - 09 approxi $750 to $850 per mth New Classic Vios roughly around $900 Really dunno how this year 08 to 09 car which is supposed monthly installment to be around $500 to $650 went up $200. Any one know how this 2nd hand cars price link with new cars price ?
  18. Anyone can advise, why is it that the current 2nd hand cars are priced based on the recent COE price instead of the original COE which they were bought at.

  21. Was thinking of getting a used (2nd hand) set of original enkei cps2 rims. As this model is very old, I presume the seller (that I had already found and touch base with) have used it for many many years as he say he use it for 2 cars already. The condition was quite satisfactory i.e. no kerb rash but slight scratches only... Before dealing will also get tyre shop to do a rotation to see if rim wrap... Wana ask is, as the rim is used for many years, will affect the condition e.g. integrity etc.? and can the rim be use for years to come? Also anyone here using old classic rims i.e. rims that been used for many many years already... Thanks..
