  3. Back in March 2010. Went to Ipoh with a good friend via KTM. Sit from 11pm to 6am. Around 9am or so when went to toilet, realise my butt there got one hole. Underwear also got hole too. Okay, take next train to Ipoh. Got down train, sit on metal bench, wah! kachang felt cold immediately. realise, the hole got bigger. Ok, went back hotel, went on his brother's car. Realized my pants the threads keep falling off. Ok, nvm. After that, shop shop awhile. Realise need to use my shirt cover my kachang or else damn lao kui. Back to hotel, sleep one night, realise got more holes at the front of my pants, as show in the picture. Got back sg, same kind of holes in my shirt too, but not very big. Can any bugs or insects bite my pants until like that? Somemore expensive marks and spencers one leh.
  4. In the past, if you travel to asia countries for CNY, many places were closed and you have no shopping, no meal, quite miserable... On the other hand, when i was in some kampongs in Malaysia, the people enjoy themselves with home cook food, simple activities like gambling, fire crackers, or just catching up. Missed those simple lifestyle whereas over here, many rather rush and squeeze in the malls

  7. We are only 3 mths+ into a 60 months cycle and so much have happened already - Corpse water - Tanglin Mall waterfall - Schoolboy drowned in longkang - DBSSgate - Someone take public transport but still have no solid idea on how to improve it - Transport price hike cannot be helped - MRT depot broken into yet again - Corpse found behind Istana - Integration issues with FT cannot be helped - Currygate - Play with HP during Marikita - 12 year NS disruption - 2 redundant post done away with but they still get to keep a paid staff - No one really knows what another redundant post is meant to do And these are just the incidents I can recall.

  9. Higher expenses derail SMRT Corp earnings Published on Oct 29, 2011 Revenue for the three months increased by $15.1 million or 6.1 per cent to $261.1 million, on the back of higher public transport ridership. -- ST PHOTO: NURIA LINGBy Christopher Tan Rail-and-rental group SMRT Corp posted a $13.9 million drop in operating profit to $42.1 million for the second quarter that ended on Sept 30, largely because of higher expenses. Revenue for the three months increased by $15.1 million or 6.1 per cent to $261.1 million, on the back of higher public transport ridership. Contributions also came from the newly-opened Circle Line, higher taxi rental revenue, increase in external fleet maintenance revenue and higher rental and advertising revenue, partially offset by lower average fares for MRT and Bus. Group revenue for the first half rose by 6.8 per cent to $514.2 million. Net profit after tax for the first six months fell by 18 per cent to $68.9 million. Chief executive Ms Saw Phaik Hwa said: 'Looking ahead, we expect an increase in fare revenue due to higher ridership on existing lines and increased ridership due to the opening of Circle Line Stages 4 and 5. 'However, profitability will be impacted by higher operating costs, particularly energy cost.' SMRT directors have declared an interim dividend of 1.75 cents per share.
  10. First, I am not a OPC owner. But this guy is talking about how to prevent accident and is inferring weekend cars are caused of it. No. 1 - WEC. I doubt there are any WEC on the road. Most will have been changed to OPC. If he gets his facts right and say OPC, then No 2. How does he know they are on the road when they should not be? whether use e-license or paper how he knows? http://www.straitstimes.com/STForum/Online...ory_713210.html

  13. It was raining very heavily and my car was running at almost empty tank. There was a petrol station in sight but the station was undergoing a partial renovation with some areas closed. There were only 2 pumps and the pumps were not too well-sheltered from the extremely heavy rain. I managed to squeeze my car into the limited space to fill the tank with petrol. I am feeling rather paranoid about rain water getting into the fuel tank during the refilling process (although it may not be the case). I am sure many drivers have experienced such a situation before. What are the symptoms if rain water really gets into the tank? What are the potential damages and what would be a cheap way to rectify it?
  14. Hi bros, need help! This brand used to be very popular. Its my dad's favourite brand for shirts. But lately cant find it anywhere. Anyone knows where i can get it?? Thks!
  15. By Andrew Loh It doesn't hit home until you're standing there, eyes fixed on the old man of 87-years old. He is no longer cognisant of his surroundings, I am told. His ability to register familiar faces and places is no longer as keen as before. He can barely recognise his own son who is standing beside me at the side of his bed on the day we paid him a visit. First a boat-builder
  16. One such 'irritating' thing:- Feel high tide, rush to toilet, unzip in front of urinal..... water fall starts, before halfway mark ...... ring, ring, ring, and hp in pocket vibrates.... look at the display:- OMG, boss calls from overseas..... but while holding hp to read the caller ID, di di swings to side and water fall goes the wrong way.... to answer the call, or let it ring but use the hand to 'steady' the di di?? so many times, when doing the water fall thingy, hp sure rings OR going from home to car outside, both hands carry bags, newspaper, water bottle, running shoes.... ie both hands are full.... then the hp starts to ring and i am not wearing the bluetooth ear piece.... you guys ever encountered before anything worse than the above???

  24. What are that there are so many hit-&-run cases happening nowadays? Or is it bec there have always been many cases happening and due to the convenience of internet which reported such cases giving us the impression as such? I am actually more interested towards WHY they happen. A rational driver, despite his/her character or habit, will not intentionally ram another vehicle/ a pedestrian if he/she can help it. I think the following reasons, as compiled through the contributions of fellow MCR bros, could be the reason: At Car parks (i) Inexperience drivers; (ii) Unlicensed drivers; (iii) Drunkard drivers; (iv) Reckless drivers; & (v) Car park design; On the roads (i)-(iv) same as above (v) Fear of mob lynching; & (vi) Theft; Your views?
