  8. Dear bros & sis, nowsaday I realise there is a very funny phenomenal. Last time, most ppl will complain about over-aggressive drivers high-beaming slow drivers telling them to get out of the way. Most folks will agree that this is not the right thing to do. I also dun bother to do so as most of the time these drivers will just bo chup you and continue on their slow speed. Therefore, now I will just find the right time to overtake them as safely as possible. I'm now driving my dad's car and vice-versa so I tend to be more careful with his. However, these safe drivers also got big egos and are not happy that ppl over-take them. This is one of the few times that I encounter a driver who high beam me after I over take him. I am sure the distance was safe as before over-taking I made sure I check the blind spots and maintain a wide clearance before over-taking. Sigh like that also??? Probably these drivers feel that since thy are so safe they should be the safety cars and no one must overtake them just like in the F1.
  9. Happy Birthday Master Zhang Wu Ji.
  10. To all Hindu MCFers and their love ones.
  11. Hi all Owners of the new fit/jazz, are you happy with your ride? Is there anything you don't like about your ride? Please share your experience here. For non-fit/jazz owners, what's enticing you to change to this ride?
  12. i'm sure we all thought it was an exciting race. but i felt we were lucky to have the SC periods just before the 1st round of pitstops. Our organisers need to look into making the track more exciting with long sweeping bends and corners that allow overtaking. if not, it'll just be another procession next year. let's put it this way. there's a large percentage of locals ranging from kids to old folks to housewives turning on their TV sets or going there to check out S'pore's 1st ever night F1 race. And without knowing what the hell is going on, were treated to a carnage fest and unpredictability thanks to Piquet's & Kimi's crash. If not for these incidents, it would just be another race, like Hungary. But these are not fans who will keep motorsports alive here. They won't stay once the racing gets boring. Some say Monaco has no overtaking as well. But Monaco is much more unforgiving, leaving no room for error. Singapore is a pretty safe track. Monaco has been hosting F1 for almost 70 years. They will continue to do it whatever happens. Singapore is different. Once the profits start falling, crowds dropping, some rich business people will start to question the logic of spending tens of millions to let 20 drivers drive 61 laps, block the entire city area and screw up the city malls' bustling business. Let's not be over the moon yet. The real meccas of motorsports are in Monza, Spa, Silverstone all over Europe. They will always be there for F1. Great scenery do not make F1 for what it truly is. What will keep F1 in SG alive is a great racing track, which to be honest, is not there at the moment. The good news is we can modify our street track. We can use the long straights leading to the SMU tunnel exiting and take that u-turn back to City Hall. The thing is will the organisers crack their brains and not be lulled into complacency? We want to be the Monaco of the east? We need to host it as long as them before even daring to call ourselves that. FYI, Lewis said he enjoyed this track because the racing was nowhere near as challenging as he thought. 16. Been read about some Singaporeans feeling cynical that Team Singapore which won the 1st Olympic medal for Sg in 48 years should not be counted as all of the members of team members were not born and bred in Singapore. So should we feel proud of this achivement or cynical? Pls vote.

  23. Dow Jones journalist fined $1,000 for punching cabby A FINANCIAL journalist got into a tiff with a cabby who did not have change for a $50 note in October last year. Andrew Bevan Jones, 35, of Dow Jones, then punched cabby Irwan Shah Saharim, 33, in the nose, at the driveway of Block 3C of East Point Green Condominium in Simei Street 3 at about 5.30am that day. Mr Irwan was treated at Changi General Hospital as an outpatient for a fractured nasal bridge. On Tuesday, Jones was fined $1,000 after he pleaded guilty to the charge. A district court heard that both men could not agree to drive to a 7-Eleven store to get change for the $25 fare and when Jones tried to leave the cab, Mr Irwan Shah stopped him. Jones then punched the cabby. Both men then started arguing again as Mr Irwan Shah tried to claim money from Jones to consult a doctor. Neighbours awakened by the shouting match called security. Two guards arrived and managed to calm down Jones, who by then had paid Irwan $50. As Jones was waiting for the lift to return to his unit, Mr Irwan shouted: 'You bxxxxxd, you better watch your back. I know where you live.' Jones immediately turned around and another bout of pushing and shoving ensued, during which Mr Irwan fell. A security guard persuaded Jones to go home. Jones told police that he drank about four glasses of beer at a pub before he boarded the taxi. Asking the court for leniency, lawyer P.E. Ashokan said that Jones has been working here since October 2006 and has never got into trouble before. He also said that Jones had offered to pay the fare with his credit card or get change from his apartment but Mr Irwan refused both options. Mr Ashokan also said that it was rather surprising that the cabby, having worked all night, did not have sufficient change. Agreeing, District Judge F.G. Remedios said that a jail term in this case would not be appropriate.
