  1. public announcement service From September 6-15, 2019, Singaporeans, Permanent Residents, and Employment Pass holders will be able to enter park for free. The period falls on the September school holidays. Tickets are usually S$25.50 for adults and S$17 for children. Out of the 15 exhibits, however, five will be gated. Visitors can pay S$2 to visit each individual exhibit. All three shows will require a fee of S$4 per area. Coupons in sets of S$10 can be purchased on site. A bit confused with the pricing thou....... free entry, why not just make it fully free?

  10. Just a sincere reminder to all our MCFers :) Travellers returning to Singapore to pay GST for shopping purchases Published on May 27, 2014 2:07 PM - See more at: http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singapore/more-singapore-stories/story/travellers-returning-singapore-shopping-have-pay-goods-a#sthash.6bT62Xnl.dpuf Travelling this school holidays? Singapore Customs is reminding travellers who return from overseas with shopping worth more than $600 to declare their goods and pay GST on it. More details here: http://bit.ly/1wdg0yR June is coming and that means overseas holidays for many families. But beware of lugging back too much shopping from your jaunts as your spoils could be subject to Goods and Service Tax (GST) once you get home. Singapore Customs has issued an advisory to remind travellers that GST is exempt for only for a certain value. If you travel out of Singapore for less than 48 hours, then you will not have to pay GST for goods valued up to $150. If you are away for more than 48 hours, you are exempt from GST for goods valued up to $600. Travellers will have to pay GST only on the value of the goods that exceeds the GST relief. For example, if you buy $800 worth of goods on a four-day trip to Hong Kong, you will need to pay GST for the $200 worth of goods. At 7 per cent, that comes up to $14. You will have to produce invoices or receipts of these purchases to help calculate the tax payable. You can pay taxes at the Singapore Customs' Tax Payment Office or at the self-service Tax Payment Kiosk at the checkpoints.

  18. Just got back. I will share videos of my recent holiday here. Privileged and blessed to be able to travel and see the world with the family. Awesome trip. For this trip, the plan was to take a cruise out of Genoa, Italy. The problem was that Genoa was pretty hard to get to. So, to get there, we first flew to London, stayed one night, then flew from London Stansted to Genoa via Ryanair, stayed on night in Genoa, then boarded the ship for a 7N cruise covering ports like Civitavecchia (for Rome), Palermo, Malta, Marseilles, Barcelona (not in that order). On disembarkation day, we took British Airways flight back from Genoa to Gatwick, and spent some nights in London before heading home. That, in gist, was the plan. The rest of this thread, I will post videos (probably in random order). First day in London, arrived quite early, went for a walk. Here were some aggressive ducks in London Regent's Park. The Triton Fountain, also at London Regent's Park. Very bright and quite cool, around 11 deg. A boy feeding pigeons. Quite fun.
  19. Anyone went?? Looks better than Legoland one.
  20. My friend just complained, why always riot when he wants to go to the country for a holiday! First Thailand red and yellow. Now Hong Kong student riot. Anyone as sway as my friend?
  21. Starting a travelogue complete with pictures taken from my GC 2014 trip (raw pics as I haven't got the time to edit). Anyone with pictures to share of your trip in any parts of Aussie, feel free to add on! @blueblueman this is for you. More pictures, less words. Traveled by FlyScoot. Sea World If you're going to Sea World, I suggest you put on lots of sunblock lotion, bring extra clothes as there are water rides there, and be dressed in casual = shorts, slippers. Weather isn't gonna be easy on you, as least for the month of April which I went. Parking @ Sea World. Don't think you have to worry about parking lots as it is highly sufficient from what I saw. Must watch Dolphin Show. Always the highlight. Dinner @ Surfers Paradise. Many many food joints you don't have to worry about starving. Jap food, Korean food, American, Mediterranean, etc etc etc. This is mine @ The Coffee Club, next to Ben & Jerry. Their sandwiches were pretty damn good. Movie World One of the two best rides. Batwing Spaceshot drop and Superman Escape rollercoaster ride (accelerates 0 to 100 in 2 seconds!) Don't forget to take the Green Lantern rollercoaster too, located directly beside the entrance in full view. Crowd on a weekday, I think it was on a Monday. Pavilion. Gather around here for the Batman - Shadows of Gotham live show at 1pm. Hollywood Stunt Driver 2 live show, featuring gun shots, explosions and car chases. Right after the Batman live show ended at 1.15pm, everyone went to queue up for the 2pm Hollywood stunt show. They didn't have proper allocated queues so it's gonna be pretty messed up. Good thing is that the venue is able to accommodate a whole lot of people. Arkham Asylum (Suspended roller coaster) MUST TAKE! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSFRpJO2xgE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=siKw60INs0Y Kebabs widely sold in Surfers Paradise. Had to try one since it was everywhere. Remember to update GPS maps. Roadworks all around (especially at Surfers Paradise since they are doing hte railway line) and GPS navigation isn't accurate, as experienced on my friend's GPS. Surfers Paradise Beach Q1 Observation Deck Quite suaku. First time seeing such pay-to-park machine. From what I observed, it gets extremely hard to find a road side/parallel parking lot at Surfers Paradise in the nighttime. We had to park inside of those buildings quite a distance away from the main beach. 3 minutes of wow and after that I'm thinking okay what's for lunch.. It's one of those gotta do and visit places when you're in GC but it gets boring after 3 minutes, IMO haha. Lunch @ Harbourtown Shopping Center. Everyone says Fish & Chips is a must to try in Aussie and so we did. Cheap and good! Parking @ Harbourtown. To be continued.................................
  22. Many people today got summons for parking in URA/HDB carpark that is under "Free Parking on Sunday & Public Holiday"...today,many motorists is confused ,yesterday is a Holiday, while today is NOT,today also got ERP,as on a normal Saturday...
  23. Saw someone circulating on What'sapp that Ministry of Manpower has announced that 7th Aug 2015 is a Public Holiday because of SG50, but cannot find the press release on MOM website, any bros here has news on this?
  24. Hi Am going on self-drive holiday around UK. Is there any good Andriod App that will work without wifi, just on GPS signal ? Or How can i buy/get a UK Map for my current GarminGPS ? Many thanks.
  25. Hi guys any story/experience to share driving in other asian countries/cities other than MALAYSIA? Let me share mine first, since I am relatively young, I have driven in Thailand and Indonesia before, driven car friend in bkk for half day only but was unlucky as traffic really jam. Drive around the sathorn area as well as sukhumvit area 3-4 years back in his CRV. Really pain in @ss driving in bkk as had to wait long in traffic light. Then in indonesia i have driven before in Surabaya, Bali and. Batam before through car rental. In Bali it was challenging as roads very narrow and gps somehow brought me to small road for one car only for shortcut BUT that road is for 2 ways. So when there is oncoming car, I had to keep the most left, ask my gf to check out left side of the car and then i fold the mirror, think left and right less than 15cm! Then also managed to drove to kintamani mountain for 3-4 hours drive from the denpasar city. Its tiring but fun Then in Surabaya, i rented an Innova and went to Taman Safari Prigen about 1 hr drive from the city. The fun part is that the safari is like jurassic park, lions and other animals is at ur car window as we drive in to see those animals using our own cars. Unforgettable experience indeed. Think if u watch one of the Running Man episode in Indonesia, its exactly the same. U can feed some herbivores food by opening ur window slightly. Its fun! Last but not least in Batam, rented a car drive to barelang bridges. Not much experience but fun part is when u cross the first bridge. Then i think in 4th or 5th island drive through viets village. Thats all about my Asia Driving experience
