  1. Hi, Any good resorts in JB that can recommend? good and safe for family and car. Many thanks!
  2. Hi Guys/Gals, Any good hotel recommendations at Cameron Highlands and pricing also.
  3. Hi all, When on road trip to the North, what sort of hotel categorary would you pick? Would you go for 5 stars hotel for a smaller room or a super Deluxe in a 3 stars hotel? Also, is swimming pool an important criteria when choosing your hotel? Most of the tme, I felt that we might not be using those facilities like swimming pool, gym, library and etc. These are probably part of the hotel rates that we're paying. In Malaysia, some of those 4 stars/5 stars hotels/resorts look like 3 stars hotels/resorts. I've the thought of using more of those boutique hotel or even those highly rated 3 stars hotel that don't come with swimming pool. What do you think? Thank you very much. Regards,
  4. Came back from Genting Highlands this afternoon. Parked at Resort Hotel MSCP. My Fiat Panorama height is 1.818m, and managed to enter, although forgotten to look out for the height limit. This morning, had to drive thru several levels and downramps to reach the exit. Halfway, at 1 of the level, there was an additional downramp. When our whole vehicle was down the ramp, my wife immediately alerted that "1.6M" was painted on the overhead concrete beam. This was not visible before turning down the ramp. And I took for granted that it is clear all the way. Fortunately, my wife saw it on time, before we crash onto the concrete beam. Reversed up and took the other downramp at the end. So, Panorama/MPV/SUV owners beware.

  6. It was reported in the news.. Shin Ming Daily. A 4 star hotel in city experienced blackout, leading to the calling off of a wedding banquet. To summarise, the hotel experienced power failure at 530pm. Guests started coming at around 630pm, only to discover the wedding banquet was in darkness. Guests nonetheless still sat inside the banquet in darkness. However at 8pm, hotel staff informed the couple that they were unable to restore the electrical power, alternative arrangements were made for them to transfer to another hotel in the vicinity, assuring them that buffet dinner will be made for them. Upon arrival to the alternative hotel, the buffet wasn't ready. Instead, the guests were greeted with toasted bread, as the buffet food wasn't ready. It was only till 10+pm that the buffet was ready, however the food served was equivalent of a normal home buffet, with a budget of $10+/pax... I looked at the photos posted by Shin Ming daily... The buffet food was atrocious, a snapshot of the original hotel banquet venue was printed.. However, i wasn't able to identify the hotel nor the venue.. Does anyone know of the place? The management attributed to a power failure in the generator. The general manager for the hotel was uncontactable as he was overseas, according to Shin Ming.. Accordingly to Shin Ming, the couple had planned for a lavish 10 course Chinese sit down dinner.. any forumers know?
  7. Can we park at marina square & walk or muz be Valet parking?
  8. Wanted to book an executive suite at Roxy Mecure Hotel. it is to allow me to pick my wife on our wedding day as she is now renting a place. so she would prefer me to pick her up from a hotel rather than her rental flat. Called Roxy yesterday to enquire, everything was ok, then i checked with them if they can allow the bridal car to be parked at the lobby instead of the carpark. They called me back today to inform me that reject my reservation..... they say due to noise and does not wish to affect their other customers. I know it is their right. but i would preferred if they had told me that they can allow my reservation if i agree to keep the noise down instead of outright reject my reservation. Those that say is their right can dun reply because i also know. And if i am their other customers instead of the bridegroom i be happy that i would not be disturbed. Thoughts or Opinions?
  9. http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSTRE56G0EX20090717 JAKARTA (Reuters) - Four people were killed in two separate explosions on Friday at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and the Marriott Hotel in central Jakarta, Indonesia's Metro TV reported. Police have confirmed the blasts, but not yet said if they were caused by bombs. There have not been any major bomb blasts in Indonesia for several years, and this month the country's presidential election passed off peacefully. "There were explosions heard from two separate places, one the JW Marriott, the other in the Ritz Carlton. We are still trying to check because right now we are still helping the victims," said South Jakarta Police Chief Firman Santyabudi. Witnesses at the scene told Metro TV that the injured, including Indonesians and foreigners, were seen being taken away in ambulances. "Some windows of the Ritz-Carlton building have been shattered, mostly on the lower section. I'm looking at it from my office," said Myra Junor, who works at a nearby building. The Marriott Hotel was badly damaged by a car bomb attack in 2003 that killed 12 people. That coincided with a period when Islamists militants carried out numerous attacks, including bombings in Bali in 2002 that killed 202 people. Many militants have since been arrested. About Hotel 81

Anyone has some special encounters with their stay in hotel 81 before ? Let me start. Once I was there, outside a room, I heard the loud flapping sound coming out of the room and a girl moaning very loudly, it was awesome. This shows that the room's sound proofing is lousy. The rooms' bath room are so small. Next pls.

  15. Hi bro, Anybody know how to go pan pacific hotel by Marina square, if i park in marina square? Thanks
  16. Was looking around for a weekend stay with my kids this Saturday and realised that Rasa Sentosa has a good package for about S$209 ++. Called up reservation and told them I got 2 adults & 2 kids (7 & 12). The hotel told me since one of my kid is 12 and is considered an adult then I got to take 2 rooms. I told them my kids have to sleep with us but she still insist I got to book 2 rooms. I said thank you & hanged up. I don't understand the logic. Why are they so inflexible ? On one hand they need the revenue during this downtime hence the promotion, on the other hand they have so many terms & conditions to discourage would be local guests. Probably will just check in Marina Mandarin for S$250 nett (w/o bf) and still can walk to Suntec for the Pc show.
