  3. This morning, saw a new car SGLXXXX having this number plate that is unreadable from a distance, especially when morning sun shines on it from behind. The wordings is in shining silver and the font size much smaller than usual which makes reading worse. Think the plate is done from somewhere up north. Sori, don't mean to peep at people no. plate, but the Getz bright yellow which makes it stand out. The plate attract me further attention. I thought these number plate already outlawed by SG TP liao? How come still C so many such no. plate on road? Is there a change of rules by TP that allow these number plate? If these are allow, me think going to change these type liao... so traffic cam cannot read correctly if taken.....
  4. Apparently, some car agents claimed that it is legal while others say otherwise. I am really confused. Anyone can comment ?
  5. Just last week, travelling along the SLE (westbound) to exit at Woodlands, I was stopped just passing by the Thompson exit when I spotted a ROV bike on the road shoulder. As I passed him, I noted that he was out of the shoulder and travelling. Very soon, he was next to me, telling me to pull over. I was all puzzled... what on earth on does he want with me now? My GT wing? My roll-cage? (which by the way are all street-legal) So I pulled over near the Mandai exit. I got out of the car and asked him what was wrong. He said... "Licence plate"... then he proceeded to take out a RULER to measure the height of the numbers and letters... ... and then he said... "Cannot use sticker licence plate, how come you use?" Told him... "Just came back from track, look at my front bumper, cracked again... can even check my passport to confirm that I just got back from MY... and my actual licence plate already broke and fell off during track... just collected replacement (from Johnson at Ubi)" He looked at the new licence plate with spanking new protective film over it and then he asked me to move along... ... NO PROBLEMS in the end
  6. I have noticing quite a number of cars fitted with HIDs that aren't properly installed - the kind that totally kills your night vision even if you try not to look directly at them. Those cars that come with factory-fitted HID (usually) have more diffused beams that do not cause a nuisance to other road users. Case in point, I was at the carpark next to Liang Court over the weekend when a Toyota Ist fitted with such HID was waiting for a lot while I was trying to get out of the carpark. In frustration I switched my lights to high-beams. By this time he was trying to back out of the carpark as well, so I simply aimed my car at him and followed his car (and shining my headlights back at him) till he managed to do a three point turn (I drove past him as he was doing the three pointer). I had half a mind to wind the windows down to ask if he knew his headlights was that blinding, but decided that exchanging words wasn't a good idea. It was also so bright I couldn't really see his licence plate either. I have no issue with properly fitted HIDs, be it factory, or a lower-spec car upgrading to a higher-spec car's projector HID beams (eg. 1.6 FD Civic using the 1.8 or 2.0 Civic's HID lamps) but I think drivers should be responsible for ensuring their headlights don't blind other people.
  7. OK this thread to remind all illegal street racing is bad. (mai delete hor) Johor Baru North traffic police chief Inspector Bakri Zainal Abidin said 34 people were detained for illegal racing, including two civil servants and two students. More than 400 cars and 150 motorcycles, including some with Singapore registration plates, were impounded. The weekly races offered winners lucrative cash prizes and the promise of sexual favours from young women. The races have attracted hundreds of people, participants and spectators, mostly youths, over the past three months. Minutes before police moved in yesterday, spectators who had parked their vehicles by the roadside were cheering as the motorcycles and cars lined up. With engines revving and horns blaring, everyone was anticipating the race
  8. Been thinking of getting a LCD Screen for my car..but both my decks are in use currently, so thought of getting one mounted on the dash board... But heard from some folks that LTA dun approve of screens in car? Distraction? Just wondering.... if its better to get those in dash screens instead so that can close if stopped by authorities
  9. Hi guys, Saw a car today got no brake lights and nearly kiss his butt. He was trying to make a left turn into another road and I was behind him. After he turned a little, he decided to jam his brakes because I think it wasn't the right road for him. His car has no brake lights (maybe spoil), so I didn't know he brake so suddenly. Fortunately my brakes quite jiak, so manage to stop in time. Incredibly I didn't horn at him. But I don't use my horn very much anyway. My point is, it is illegal to drive without brake lights. Can I report this bugger to police?

  13. Had a funny idea recently. I know it may be illegal but then do they actually check your engine during inspection? They did not check my engine (if I am not mistaken) during my last checkup for road-tax.
