  1. I'm driving subaru impreza 2008 1.5r 5d, gh3. Can kakimoto regu 06 fit? Previous owner tell me its LTA Compliant on GH8.
  2. The all-new 2017 Impreza debuts the Subaru Global Platform architecture that's designed to deliver significantly higher levels of driving pleasure, agility, crash protection and ride comfort and will underpin a variety of upcoming Subaru vehicles, including hybrids. As before, every Impreza is equipped as standard with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, a boon to driving agility and traction and a key advantage over front-wheel drive competitors. The roomier 2017 Impreza models also debut the brand's new design language and new driver-assist technology. Also new, multimedia features including standard Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ and standard Near Field Communication connectivity debut on Impreza. The new Impreza will be available in base, Premium, Sport and Limited trim lines when it arrives in Subaru dealerships in late 2016. Subaru's new design language puts the brand's signature hexagonal grille and hawk-eye headlights onto a more sculptural body, its athletic stance accentuated by prominent wheel arches and flowing lines. The dramatic new look carries into the cabin, with an outward-flow design that follows the front of the car. The 2017 Impreza rides on a 105.1-in. wheelbase, up 1.0-in. over the last generation Impreza. Both the Sedan and 5-Door are 1.6-in. longer than the outgoing models, and both are 1.5 in. wider. The larger dimensions create a roomier cabin, while a 0.4-in. lower height helps improve aerodynamics with a lower coefficient of drag. Although sleeker in appearance than the previous models, the 2017 Impreza Sedan and 5-Door preserve excellent all-around visibility. The new Subaru Global Platform, together with the Boxer engine, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and EyeSight® that represent Subaru's core technologies, constitutes the basic foundation of the next generation of Subaru vehicles. Impreza's new platform incorporates new frameworks with optimized cross sections and highly stiffened joints between structures to significantly enhance straight-line stability, agility and ride comfort while suppressing noise, vibration and harshness to a degree not seen in the compact class. Specifically, the new platform increases rigidity of the unitized body structure by over 70 percent. A lower center of gravity and revised suspension systems contribute to the biggest-ever leap in Subaru's performance evolution. The double-wishbone independent rear suspension mounts its rear stabilizer bar directly to the body, which helps reduce body roll by 50 percent compared to the outgoing model. Greater hazard-avoidance capability is another benefit of the Subaru Global Platform's inherent handling agility. In addition, the resolute straight-line stability that makes the 2017 Impreza more relaxing to drive is also an important constituent of the autonomous driving capability this platform can support in future Subaru vehicles. Taking full advantage of the new stiffer platform and more powerful engine, the Impreza 2.0i Sport, now available in the Sedan as well as 5-Door, delivers a more fun-to-drive performance feel thanks to exclusive suspension tuning, 18-inch machine-finish alloy wheels and Active Torque Vectoring. Subaru aimed for a new ride/handling balance benchmark in the compact segment. The Sport also includes a new 4-way Tire Pressure Monitoring System, which is available on other models. Exclusive exterior styling and features setting the Impreza Sport apart include standard LED daytime running lights (DRL), black-finish front grille, body-color rocker panels and turn signal side mirrors. The Impreza Sport 5-Door features gloss black rear gate trim, while the Sport Sedan has a rear trunk spoiler. Inside the Sport, unique black cloth upholstery is trimmed with red stitching, a motif that repeats for the steering wheel, gear shift, instrument panel and door trim. The instrument panel incorporates exclusive Sport gauges and a Multi-Function Display. The Sport comes well equipped, with upgrades over the Impreza Premium that include the Subaru STARLINK™ 8.0-inch touchscreen multimedia system, and a new harman/kardon® premium audio system is available. Keyless Access & Push-Button Start, aluminum pedals, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift handle and a CVT shift boot round out the Sport's enhanced standard equipment. A revised version of the FB 2.0-liter 4-cylinder Boxer engine gains direct fuel injection and other enhancements to boost both performance (now 152 horsepower vs. 148 before) and drivability. In highline trims, the Lineartronic® CVT (continuously variable transmission) features a 7-speed manual mode function with steering wheel paddle shifters that allow the driver to control the transmission via seven pre-set ratios. Subaru designed the 2017 Impreza to provide even higher levels of safety than the outgoing model, which was named an IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK and a TOP SAFETY PICK+ when equipped with available EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology. The new platform underpinning the 2017 Impreza improves crash energy absorption by 40 percent over present models. The EyeSight® system includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Pre-Collision Braking and Lane Departure and Sway Warning, plus a Lane Keep Assist function. Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are also available. Also new are available Steering Responsive Headlights, which can illuminate curves as the vehicle steers into them, and High Beam Assist, which automatically activates and deactivates the high beam headlamps based on driving conditions. All 2017 Impreza models include as standard equipment front seat side impact airbags, side curtain airbags and a driver's knee airbag. The 2017 Impreza adds new driver-assist technologies, including Reverse Automatic Braking and the display of steering lines for the standard rear vision camera. Reverse Automatic Braking can apply the vehicle's brakes if an obstacle is detected while reversing. A new 4-way Tire Pressure Monitoring System can detect pressure drops at individual wheels. Subaru STARLINK™ Multimedia systems offer the latest in digital music playing, Bluetooth® wireless capability, iPod® control, smartphone integration and more. The display screen also provides the display for the standard rear vision camera, and the top-level system includes navigation. The available Subaru STARLINK™ Safety and Security Connected Services give the 2017 Impreza one of the industry's most affordable telematics options. Depending on the package selected, features can include SOS Emergency Assistance, Enhanced Roadside Assistance, Automatic Collision Notification, Maintenance Notifications, Monthly Vehicle Health Report and Diagnostic Alerts, Stolen Vehicle Recovery Service, Vehicle Security Alarm Notification, Remote Lock/Unlock, Remote Horn and Lights and Remote Vehicle Locator.
  3. 2022 Subaru WRX STI To 'Push The Performance And Technological Boundaries' source: https://www.motor1.com/news/459684/2022-subaru-wrx-sti-push-boundaries/ But there's still a lot we don't know about the performance sedan. We’ve been patiently waiting for the new WRX and WRX STI, but it’s the end of 2020 and we don’t even have spy shots of the performance sedans. We do have an idea regarding how it will look since the dynamic duo is expected to take after the JDM-only 2021 Levorg wagon, and especially the STI Sport variant. To ease the wait, Subaru through its Australian division is starting to talk about the speedy four-door cars on the occasion of delivering the 10,000th WRX STI in the Land Down Under. Talking about the spicy version of the two sedans, Subie mentions it “is certain to push the performance and technological boundaries still further” than its predecessors.” That’s not saying much, is it? But at least it’s a sign the reveal is fast-approaching. According to the latest intel, the WRX will allegedly premiere in April 2021 before going on sale later that year. Come June 2022, the WRX STI is expected to follow with more of everything. Both are rumored to share an Ascent-derived turbocharged 2.4-liter boxer engine producing as much as 400 horsepower and 490 Newton-meters (361 pound-feet) of torque in the STI. The go-faster sedans have been a long time coming, especially since Subaru first alluded to the styling direction the WRXs would take nearly three years ago. Remember the Viziv Performance STI concept? It debuted in January 2018 at the Tokyo Auto Salon as a sharp-looking sedan with an engine Subaru refused to talk about along with blacked-out windows to hide the interior.

  10. Subaru reckons your dog's love for you should be rewarded and shows us how one owner rewards his dog with a 'weekend trip of a lifetime' using his Subaru Impreza. We bet the dog must have a hell of a good time with things like, getting 100 tennis balls to play with, going on a ferris wheel, going to the beach, getting a new shoe to chew on, breakfast on bed and erm, meeting his old girlfriend. FYI, the Impreza in the video comes with a 2.0-litre engine which pumps out 148bhp and 196Nm of torque while we get the lower powered 1.6-litre 113bhp, 150Nm version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=43&v=aerv5xYhz2k

  16. Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI), the maker of Subaru automobiles, has just unveiled the all-new WRX STI (US specifications) at the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) currently being held in Detroit, Michigan. As the top grade model of the WRX series, the new WRX STI embodies at an even higher level the shared product series concept: “Pure Power in Your Control”. Starting with the base WRX model, Subaru has equipped the WRX STI with the powerful, motorsport-proven 2.5-liter Horizontally-Opposed turbo engine, an exclusively-tuned suspension for enhanced rigidity, multi-mode DCCD (Driver’s Control Center Differential) and more. During development, Subaru honed the driveability of the new WRX STI to perfection, testing it under various driving conditions in several countries. As with past generations of the WRX STI, testing included ultra-high speed road testing on Germany's Nürburgring circuit, known for its harsh road conditions. Through this process, Subaru has raised performance for the body, chassis and other vehicle areas to the limit and fused them into one. This has elevated overall vehicle performance, resulting in the pinnacle of Subaru AWD sport performance with predictable high power at the driver's fingertips.

    Cream of the crop

This is not your 'ordinary' WRX or STI. As much as the subtlety tries to hide, there are still little hints that will betray its true identity. This, is the Subaru Impreza S204. I'm not sure about the rest of you readers out there, but Subaru Imprezas and Mitsubishi Evos have a special place in my heart. In my childhood days, I spent a lot of time watching them at carpark rallies, instead of studying. And needless to say, I was all too happy to shoot this S204. A quick introduction of the S204. Based on the Japanese version of the 2.0-litre WRX STi (Singaporeans get the 2.5-litre version of the STi here), Subaru Technica International (STi) answered the request of its fans by giving the car more power and better handling through this limited run special. Only 600 units were said to be produced for sale in Japan but a quick search on the Internet revealed that the people living in New Zealand got a couple of units too. On that note, it is believed that every unit that made its way into Singapore had its number plaque removed. This troubled the previous owner, so while he was working in Japan, he got connected to the right people and managed to trace his car's number. It was unit 078/600. As mentioned, power was upped to 315bhp from 276bhp while torque went up to 431Nm. All these were achieved with the help of a twin scroll turbo design which was also featured in its predecessor, the S203. Turbo diameter in the S204 has been enlarged, while the turbine blade configuration has been altered to smooth out acceleration. Using a new turbo charger also necessitates the need to retune the ECU. Another highlight feature of the S204 is the installation of the Titanium muffler which helps lowers the exhaust back pressure. Of course, improvements were made to the chassis also. STi collaborated with Yamaha to develop a performance damper that improves handling immediately from the moment a driver turns in, through the turn, and at the exit. Other notable stuff include the strengthening of the spring rate by 50 percent and an increase of the rear sway bar diameter to counter body roll. As expected, STI-unique pink feature on the various bars and links... Similar to the S203, the S204 comes standard with super high performance P ZERO tyres by Pirelli. These tyres come mounted on lightweight aluminum forged BBS wheels in size 18 x 8.5. Moving inside, black was used on much of the instrument panel while lesser WRXs are painted in gunmetal colour. Usual JDM (Japanese Domestic Model) WRX STis get their speedometers rated till 180km/h but the S204 gets 260km/h ones. Other than Yamaha, STi also worked with Recaro to design these sexy lightweight bucket seats. Developed in Germany, the back is made of carbon while synthetic leather is used on the sides to add a touch of class. But frankly speaking, these seats aren’t exactly the most comfortable for long distance driving. Moving back to the exterior, STi gave the S204 some minor but significant aerodynamic upgrades. New carbon front underskirt lip spoiler and a newly designed rear spoiler improves airflow and provide added downforce. Other goodies done up by the previous owner include a turbo timer and HKS EVC boost controller. You may think that the car has since had its boost pressure increased but its current owner is more than happy with the stock boost pressure. I am guessing 320 horses are enough to piss some pesky taxis and hot hatches. Having tried another JDM 2.0-litre STi before, the S204's power delivery is noticeably smooth and more linear. This S204 also had its rotor upgraded courtesy of a well known japanese brand, ENDLESS. Unfortunately, there is still room for improvement in terms of brake modulation. All in all, the various upgrades to the S204 make it a significantly improved car over a normal STi. If I was looking for an AWD sedan that I would use for daily driving and give me the occasional thrill, this would be a great choice. Knowing that there are only 600 in the world makes it even more special.
  19. Greetings to all Impreza Drivers and Lovers of AWD. I will first start by sharing my tips to increase FC for my new car. Currently my Impreza 1.6i MT is still under RUN in less than 1600 km The Run in Engine Oil is very thick , thickest compare to Mineral oil and Full Syn oil I have acheived 12-13.5km /litre of petrol with lot of careful driving. TIPS 1) I have installed EZ-stab EXTreme. I have just Spend $620 on this Extreme. Very worth it It aids in Power and Fuel Efficiency 2) I always change gear @ 1500 - 1700 rpm. I entered 5th Gear @ 60km/hr speed. 3) I always set my gear to NEUTRAL during down slope, enter 5th Gear and slowly release clutch when I am about to reach flat road. I do that everyday on CTE. 4) When I saw red light at a distance, I will set Neutral and let it cruise. I dare to do this because it is AWD. Very Stable. Not afraid it will skid or anything. AWD is the best. 5) Check and pump to the correct tyre pressure every alternate days. I am hoping to bring this Impreza to 15km/litre. I am in constant process to search for good products and tips to improve on FC. anyway the petrol price have increased. Since I have bought subaru cars, i do not think i will switch brand. I am aiming for a SUBARU Legacy for my next car. I hope all the GURU out there in MCF will contribute on the tips of BEtter FC. I will humbly accept advices. Cheers GIMMY
  20. Nothing is official yet, but we hear that the local distributor may be bringing in the four-door bodystyle of the WRX STi. This is good news for the local fans of Japanese sports cars after the dust from the Toyota 86 and Subaru's own BRZ has settled. From the late 90s to the early 2000s, its arch rival - the Mitsubishi Evolution - and itself, carved out a niche for themselves with their boombastic point and shoot performance. Its basic iteration, the Impreza WRX, was easily the best bang for buck performance car in Singapore when the price of COE was low. All the local racing wannabes hankered after one. Fast forward to today, soaring COEs and the onslaught of German hot hatches contributed to the falling appeal of these wonderful rally reps. We are hoping the new four-door body will come soon and allow the newer generation of drivers to taste the magic of these rally-inspired turbocharged AWD sedans. And yes, there may also be a automatic version too for those who prefer a less frantic experience.
  21. Subaru has unveiled the WRX Concept at the 2013 New York Auto Show. The concept adopts a sloping roofline which is commonly known as a 'four-door coupe' body style. Together with the huge wheel arches and powerful body lines, we can guess that the next WRX is going to have a distinct identity, distancing itself from the regular Impreza. The direction that the new WRX is heading is confirmed by Toshiro Masuda, Senior General Manager of Subaru Product and Portfolio Planning. According to Masuda, it's more like 'they share a blueprint' than one is a hot version of the other. This is similar to Nissan's decision to separate the GT-R model from the Skyline name. The concept measures 4,521mm long by 1,990mm wide by 1,389mm tall, making it slightly shorter, lower and wider than the current Impreza. The concept wears 20-inch forged alloy wheels wrapped in 245/40Z R20 Dunlop rubber. According to Subaru, the car features a carbon fibre roof to lower the center of gravity and to reduce weight. A prominent rear diffuser and distinct C-shaped taillights enhances the WRX's own identity. The powerplant for the next generation WRX will be a derivative of the 2.0-litre, direct-injected flat-four found in the BRZ. No further power train details have been confirmed by Subaru.
  22. If your Subaru's engine cranks up and switches off by itself, do not be afraid as your car isn't possessed by supernatural forces. What happens is that if the remote starter key fob is dropped, a software glitch could occur and it may randomly transmit an engine start request without pressing the button. The engine will run for up to 15 minutes, but could continue to start and stop until the petrol tank is emptied or the fob battery goes flat. The danger is that if the vehicle is parked in an enclosed area, there is a risk of carbon monoxide build-up which may cause asphyxiation. The problem affects the 2010-2013MY Legacy and Outback as well as the 2012-2013MY Impreza fitted with automatic or CVT transmissions. According to Subaru, around 47,000 cars are affected by the recall in the United States. Subaru dealers will replace the fobs free of charge. This issue with Subaru key fobs also serves as a reminder to all of us to take care of our key fob. Personally, I've left mine in my pocket before and it went into the washing pail. Fortunately, it is still functional.
  23. Any good place to recommend for aftermarket or original parts?
  24. Every morning for the past 2 months, when I drove past the road opposite Citibank, I will see a white impreza parked on the side road on double yellow line and the driver will always not be around. I am curious did he park there the whole day or since last night? Thou not very heavy traffic,, but being a 2 lane road and this car is blocking one of the lane, I find it quite inconsiderate. Anyone notice this car as well?
  25. [extract] In Japan, there is a vehicle market segment known as keijidosha (literally means light automobile) which is a category of small-sized cars that are designed to comply with Japanese government tax and insurance regulations. These Kei cars also have to comply with size and power regulations, in other words, their dimensions and horsepower must not exceed certain regulations. Subaru R1, one of Subaru's recent Kei car models. Currently, their dimensions can not exceed 3.4 metres in length, 1.48 metres in width and 2 metres in height. And engine specifications are limited to a maximum of 660cc for displacement and 63 brake horsepower. Kei cars are generally less popular outside of Japan and we don
