  1. Came across this on the subaru japan site. Looks like its the crossover version of the current impreza. Wonder if it will make it to SG? http://www.subaru.jp/impreza/xv/index.html...terior/exterior
  2. What drive train does it use? Asked a guy and he said it uses the Fwd? Not AWD?
  3. Looking for the name of Nina, who had transfer me $50 to my posb acount. kindly pm me....
  4. [extract] -Subaru Impreza XV Turbo diesel. Subaru have been pretty quiet since they launched the new Forester, Impreza and Legacy recently. Maybe this is a good thing since there was a slight uproar when the Impreza was launched awhile back. From a slightly demented looking sedan it had become a slightly dull looking hatchback. Of course people have gotten used to it and now Subaru thinks that the world needs a crossover version of the Impreza so they launched it at Geneva recently. Subaru have decided to call it the Impreza XV instead of using the 'Outback' name as their Legacy models. Why Subaru have done so is a small mystery to me. Anyway,
  5. I had earlier posted an article on the Subaru Impreza WRX/WRX STI scoop and the various cars utilizing it. This modification is usually done by people to want to make their rides look like they have a gazillion horsepower under their hoods or that these cars really need the extra cooling due to 'having a top mounted intercooler' like an Impreza WRX. Maybe the Toyota Hilux in the picture I posted earlier is a turbo diesel with a top mount intercooler and the scoop is really useful in directing cool air where it is needed the most. But sometimes the scoop is just a dummy intake for the sole purpose of styling and looks. This is like the picture of the Proton Satria turbo conversion above, where the scoop is purely for looks as the intercooler is front mounted. The scoop is redundant. While I do agree that it is their hard earned money and it is their democratic right to spend it on whatever they feel like doing, sometimes you do feel like someone should tell them not to. The following photo is an example of why you should do just that: A new Proton Saga with a triple layered Impreza scoop as mentioned by one of the readers of the previous posting. I just had to search for it. And for the benefit of you readers I have found it on a Malaysian buy-sell site. We all know that if you dress badly you may end up being arrested by the fashion police or at the very least the photo of a very badly dressed you in a fashion magazine as an example of how not to dress. Maybe the car is a show car for some motoring event or to showcase the 'skills' of the fiberglass specialist. But we may still need some policing for car mods like these, regardless whether they are just for motor-shows or events; as some people say too much freedom can be a bad thing. This is all the proof you need that sometimes you HAVE to tell someone they have taken things a little too far.
  6. hi, i am thinking of getting the above. the price is $72,500. is this a good price or should i bargain for more stuff? AWD consumes more fuel? thks for your comments.
  7. SINGAPORE: Hundreds of people in Singapore have entered a marathon test of endurance to win a car. For the first time, the annual MediaCorp Subaru Impreza WRX Challenge is seeing participants from China, Taiwan and Indonesia. Some 400 people turned up at the Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza on Saturday to take part in the event. They are all focused on winning a brand new Subaru Impreza worth S$81,000. But some said they would not be keeping the prize if they emerge the winner. "If I win the car, I think I will sell it and get the money," said contestant Eason Ju, as he does not own a driver's licence. Eason, 27, is one of the 10 Chinese nationals taking part in the event. Another participant, 27-year-old Telly Asih Handoko from Jakarta said that he too will be selling the car and put the money to good use. "I have a dream to set up my own business in Indonesia. I will use the money to set up a motorcycle workshop," he said. Among the local contestants, there are some who are no strangers to the challenge. Naisha Jamil, a 41-year-old nurse, is taking part in the event for the third time. "Last year, I lasted about six hours plus. Because I accumulated three penalty tags, I was asked to leave. I'm working permanently at night. I'm used to having little sleep. So, it shouldn't be a problem...as long as I don't accumulate the penalty tags." The rules seem simple enough. The participants just have to place their palms firmly on the cars. The last man or woman standing will be the winner. But it is a tough challenge. Last year's winner, George Lee, lasted a record 81 hours 32 minutes. The challenge kicked off at 1pm sharp and hardly an hour passed before the first person was eliminated. He is 44-year-old driver, Ang Theng Chuan. He said: "I had to place my palm at the same point and I could not move around. I felt tired and it was painful." - 938LIVE/ Source http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1014992/1/.html

  10. As above. At $55,888 for a 2,000cc car, consider relatively affordable. In fact, many 1,600cc cars cant even match this price. Power wise, only 5 horses lesses than Civic 2,000cc, but torque is 8 Nm better Worth buying ? Any 2.0R drivers here ??

  14. Serious Subaru Impreza accident at Bukit Panjang area. Date and Time: ~12am midnight when 18th Feb 2009 has just begun. Location: Bukit Panjang area. Heard a loud long, long, long screech and then followed by a big bang. I went to take a look, to my horror, I saw a white Subaru Impreza mounted onto the pedestarian path. The driver could not stop in time and the car finally came to a halt when the boot was caught by the concrete wall and front its bonnet stuck to a tree. It landed in an awkward position, 90 degree from the direction of the road. A bus-stop was just barely 10meters from the wreckage location. The driver left the scene. Please drive carefully, please do not speed.
  15. "It's the most stylish Subaru ever! And this striking Impreza coup

  18. ...at Stevens EXIT area to PIE en route to Jurong, 21st Apr 1520hrs. I was filtering out from Stevens into PIE, and had filtered to lane 3. I was about to filter to Lane 2, and had checked my blindspots. I was halfway into Lane 2 and you SWERVED into my lane making me swerve defensively into lane 3. I did not horn nor curse....as I was too STUNNED..... 2secs after that, from my right, appeared 2 TPs, and they then went ahead of the TS and blikners on and signalled him. At first, thought I kena...but I drove on, and the TS stayed on the shoulder with the 2 TPs in front of him. Well, sure kena for 'DANGEROUS DRIVING'. I glanced and saw a bloody young punk Ahbeng!! CB Kia. Almost caused an accident. A good thing Heaven got eyes, and thus, heralded 2 TPs IMMEDIATELY Anyway, I drove home and to the TS driver, here are my thoughts: 1. Thank you for contributing your GST dividends back to gahmen and helping in nation building I shall remember when i use the toilet paper at MRT station. 2. I think you may have been kan chiong and wanted to SIAM the TPs by keeping in lane 2. NEXT TIME BEFORE YOU DO THAT, OPEN YOUR BLOODY EYES AND LOOK FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC. 3. Hope the points you earned today will go a long way in your memory That's all folks. My story for the day. If the CB TS driver is here, PM me, and i treat you coffee from MY GST dividend and to the potential CB-kias, who say this wrong folder/thread, this not complaint hor....why shld I complain when justice is served IMMEDIATELY!!!
