The videos/photos were submitted to the insurance. If the see the video, will know obviously cannot be claim so high. What's going to happen now? Insurance say they will be handling the claim. Will they fight it if they think is too high? Since they say they will be handling, any inputs needed from my side?

  4. I am looking at the Aviva My Retirement Plus. In the illustration when one pays 16K for 10 years then receive an inflation adjusted payout of 1K/mth until 85. What will it happen if the holder decides to stop paying the premium at 5th year when migrate to another country? Surrender with a big loss, or receive a pro-rated payout according to the premium paid and schedule, or what other exit strategy can the holder take? I wonder whether there are any easy and hassle-free retirement savings plan where the buyers can put in money as they wish and the interest increases with the time the $ stays in like the SSB then after retirement the payout also follows some automatic prearranged schedule, and most importantly, removing insurance agents' cut?

  6. good people, I was goign through my insurance renewal when a particular clause strikes me, its says it includes insuring the COE & PARF value, and there is a tick for me to OPT OUT. My question now is, isn't COEs & PARF value guaranteed? Meaning, if in the event of total wreck or lost of vehicles, my remaining COE & eligible parf will be paid for by the governemnt? OR am I missing the point totally?
  7. Hi all, Presently driving an Audi Q3. Will be renewing insurance in a few months time. 1st year was with AIG. Seems pricey but 1st year had to stick with the insurance company recommended by PA. Anybody knows of other insurance companies which allows servicing at PA and are cheaper? Thanks!
  8. If I drive part-time Grab during weekday evening, and I also rent it to another Grab relief driver during the weekend, do I state the NCD as 50% (mine) or 0% (Grab relief driver) when getting the car insurance? Assume that I have already converted my car to commercial with LTA.
  9. Dear all, I was having a minor collision with this Causeway Link bus(yellow ones) on the causeway bridge towards Singapore custom (just came out from JB custom), I was trying to merge into lane 1 with signal on and the bus refuse to give way and hit the right side of my car near the rear wheel and rear right door while I already stopped (not sure whether he purposely hit me or not). So this bus driver said we both report to insurance and refused to provide me his particulars stating the company name and plate number sufficed. I filed online accident report with my insurer (AIG) and made police report also when I came back to Singapore. I would like to know that if I don't claim my insurance company (new car excess $800 and lost my NCD) and go outside workshop to do the job(around $850), will there be any problem? If the bus company insurer claim against mine, do I still have to fork out another $800 excess for this case? Have been calling AIG hotline for the whole morning but couldn't get through, so would like to hear dear bro's opinion on this. Thanks and happy new year to all!

  13. Hi All I've got an insurance question to ask. My kid was hospitalised due to illness. Wife and I both working and both have hospitalisation coverage for family members provided by respective companies' insurance providers. Can we both make claims from our respective companies' insurers for the bill? eg I claim from my company's insurer and say there's still a shortfall, wife then claims from her company's insurer to make up the shortfall. This should be possible, right? Thanks

  15. I was involved in an accident yesterday. I was going straight passing a junction and a NTUC comfort taxi who is going to turn right failed to give way to me, as a result, his right front corner rammed into my right car body. It was green light for both direction. TP came due to heavy traffic flow and oil leakage from the taxi and I also got hold of two witnessess who came forward. Subsequently my car was towed to IDAC for assessment. I was advised by my insurance company to make an insurance claims. They said its either I make a own damage claims or 3rd party claim. Own damage claim - Not provided with courtesy car as it did not covered that in my Comprehensive Insurance coverage. But procedure is faster and they can reclaim the excess i forked out if I was found not to be at fault. 3rd party claim - IDAC find a workshop for me who can provide me with courtesy car and I dun have to fork out a single cent for the repair. They will do the 3rd party claim for me and the claiming process takes longer. I have to go through lawyer interview on the accounts of the accident. If I am 100% sure I am NOT AT FAULT, do I still have to settle for a 50-50 or 90-10 negotiation??? Can I insist the taxi insurance company to pay all the repair costs?? Any bros can advise me which option is better??

  18. Hi all, my car may be declare total loss by the surveyor. Can anyone advice me how do insurance calculate total loss value and how will the insurance compensate me? I read my policy and it states based on market value at the point of loss, how do that determine that? My PARF & COE Rebate is 29.5k according to onemotoring.com.sg calculator. SG carmart 2nd hand selling price is 80k. Any expert can advice me on this?
  19. I am very sad that AIG rejected my policy due to accident claim. No one wants to be involved in any accident (i had one in Feb this year, no personal injury, liability is likely 50-50, my repair amoumt is about 5k-6k), but when you had one, insurrance company simply abondon you and forget about the days of happily collecting premium from you. I had other 3 policies with them (each year they collect almost 8k from me), thinking of cancelling them all. So now, i have to look for alternative insurer, any bro can give some advise? will AIG's rejection affect my new insurrance plan? do i have to tell them about the rejection? any insurer to recommend? really apreciate your advise.

  23. From The New Paper : Man in road accident passes breathalyser test but insurance company refuses to pay out - See more at: http://www.tnp.sg/news/drink-and-drive-no-insurance-cover-even-if-youre-under-limit By: ZUL OTHMAN and LINETTE HENG By his own admission, he drank a few beers about three hours before his Mitsubishi Lancer was involved in an accident at the junction of Grange Road and Tanglin Road on Jan 29. Mr Wayne Poh was given a breathalyser test by the Traffic Police and cleared when the test showed that he was just below the legal limit of 35mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. But the 29-year-old finance manager is now locked in dispute with his motor insurer DirectAsia.com, which won't honour his claim over the accident because he had drunk alcohol before the accident.
