Anyone can shed light on the advantage of those 70,000 iphone prebooked vs anyone who walks into the singtel shop tomorrow to get the iphone over the counter? Other than earlier than a few days advantage...what are the package/price plans difference? I was thinking taking over my friends pre-booked slot to get the iphone today. Price wise or freebies wise any advantage?

Singtel plan offers free iPhone Tue, Aug 19, 2008 AsiaOne Singtel is offering customers a free Apple iPhone if they sign-up for a two-year, $205 monthly SingTel subscription plan. The much sought-after phone will be available in Singapore come Friday August 22. When the new 3G iPhone was released earlier this year in Hong Kong, Japan and New Zealand, fans braved the cold weather and queued up for days to ensure they could get their hands on one. SingTel is the first telco to bring the iPhone into Singpore. Other mobile providers Starhub and MobileOne should be offering the iPhone here by year's end. Existing SingTel customers can also get the iPhone if they sign up for a 24-month, that will run concurrently with their existing plans. Customers on SingTel's iThree Plus which goes for $192.60 a month will also receive the iPhone for free. Those on the iTwo Plus plan will have the option to sign up for a $95 monthly plan on a 24-month contract to get the iPhone at a discounted price of $208 for the 16GB model and $49 for the 8GB model. iTwo Value customers will get the 16GB iPhone for $508 and the 8GB model for $348 if they sign up for a $56 monthly plan on a 24-month contract. iOne Plus customers paying $25.68 per month will have to pay $848 for the 16GB and $698 for the 8GB phone. Sales will begin 'at the stroke of midnight' on Friday at the telco's Comcentre Building, a SingTel spokesman told The Straits Times. Wait for M1 and Starhub?

SINGAPORE - Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) and its mobile associates will bring Apple's popular iPhone to Singapore, India, Australia and the Philippines later this year, Southeast Asia's largest phone company said on Monday. Just wanted to find out how many of you would be getting one when SingTel sells it? For me, it's like the 'shiok' factor a little bit diminished as it has already been launched for so long, now then come to s'pore. Somemore no 3G (but got EDGE). Still undecided.
