  1. SINGAPORE: The supply of water to Singapore was disrupted after the PUB's Johor River Waterworks halted water treatment operations due to the high levels of ammonia in the river, Singapore's national water agency said on Thursday (Apr 4). A spokesman said: “PUB’s waterworks in Johor, the Johor River Waterworks (JRWW), has stopped treatment operations this afternoon due to high ammonia levels found in the Johor River. “The stoppage of treatment operations at JRWW disrupted its water supply to Singapore and some parts of Johor. Water supply in Singapore is not affected as PUB has stepped up production at the desalination plants and local waterworks to meet demand. “PUB is monitoring the raw water quality in Johor River closely and will resume abstraction and treatment of raw water when water quality is suitable.” Read more at https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/ammonia-pollution-johor-river-singapore-water-supply-disrupted-11413570 Everything there's something new about sg and msia. 5. A fire and explosion occurred early on Friday morning (April 12) at the Petronas Pengerang Integrated Complex oil and gas facility in Johor, The Star reported. According to a statement by national oil firm Petronas, the incident took place at 1.25am. An emergency and fire response team was deployed and contained the fire within 30 minutes. "The situation is under control and all relevant authorities have been informed," it said. "We will provide additional information in due course, as the investigation is still being carried out." Comments on social media have suggested that the blast could be felt by residents of nearby residential areas and as far off as Pasir Gudang. Spates of incidents happening to our brothers and sisters across the causeway lately.lets all wish them well and nothing major to happen anymore. anything that happens to our closest neighbour could very well affect us very directly.

  8. Car thieves in Malaysia have gone high-tech, using device to unlock car with keyless entry Owners of cars using the keyless entry system are at risk of having their vehicles stolen in minutes by a frequencyhacking device that is available in Malaysia. The device, which costs about RM150 (S$50) and can be obtained online or at some electronics stores, can unlock a car and start its engine by hacking its radio frequency identification (RFID) information. A source said the device could unlock almost any car with keyless entry. Source: http://www.straitstimes.com/asia/se-asia/car-thieves-in-malaysia-have-gone-high-tech-uses-device-to-unlock-car-with-keyless I still use the old school method to lock the steering but if they wanna steal they'll easily remove it anyway. Still, I think deterrence is better than nothing!
  9. Hi. Can any bro recommend a performance tuning (Stage 2) for Audi - in JB or any other parts of Johor? Going to sell off the car but wants to make sure the car is properly tuned for the next buyer. That's why I am kindof price sensitive. Thank you.
  10. I heard from my coleague that there is a fish market in Pontian which sell fresh seafood at very reasonable price. The market opens in the afternoon, 1pm if I heard it correctly. But, KNN, the coleagues are evasive when I asked for direction and always say they either follow the direction from their uncle or just sit a car and dunno the way. Searched thru Google but can't find anything on it. Has anybody here been there before? Could you share where it is?

  13. Hello, Accident happened just before JB customs (outbound to Singapore) on 19th November 2017 at around 9pm. I have rear car camera footage of the accident. If you are the driver of the black Honda stream who got rear-ended or the owner of the car who got reversed into, contact me if you need my footage. (PM me or reply to this thread). I have video evidence of the car rear ending the stream thrice and reversing into the car behind him.

  15. Saw a convoy of M'sian plate cars along BKE towards PIE this morning. The convoy leader is a Mercs S400 with plate JNW1. The 2nd and 3rd car in the convoy are Roll Royce with no number plates. The 4th and 5th car are M'sia civilian cars with the sticker bearing words "Polis" on its rear bumper. Behind the convoy is an unmarked WRX Singapore plate, likely the Singapore Police? The best part is when the convoy approached BKE speed trap near Bukit Panjang exit, they slowed down. I thought they can just choing through it? haha. 16. June 19, 2008 Johor Sultan vows to find ways to reclaim Pedra Branca JOHOR BARU - SULTAN of Johor Sultan Iskandar Ismail has vowed to find ways to reclaim Pedra Branca. Sultan Iskandar said he wanted to remind all that he had not forgotten his island and that it was rightfully under the state's sovereignty and not Singapore. 'Sampai bila masa, saya cari hatta ikhtiar balik benda itu ke Johor (It doesn't matter how long it takes, but I will find ways until the island is returned to Johor),' he said in the closing of his speech before opening the Johor state assembly here on Thursday. The ruler said he was confident that the state would continue to prosper economically thus bringing benefits to the people and reminded the people to reject racial or religious extremism. The Sultan's words caught everyone off-guard. Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Abdul Ghani Othman said the state government 'clearly heard' what the Sultan said. 'We heard and listened loud and what he has declared,' he said, without elaborating further. On May 23, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled that Singapore had sovereignty over the disputed Pedra Branca, while Malaysia owned Middle Rocks. On the other disputed territory of South Ledge, the ICJ ruled that it belonged to the country in whose territorial waters the rocky outcrop is located. The ICJ decision brought to a close the 28-year-old territorial dispute between both countries, and was immediately described as a 'win-win' outcome by Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim, who led the Malaysian side at The Hague where the court is located. -- THE STAR/ANN Good! Got fighting spirit.

  20. I think the only shop now in johor starting to go into coating...If you are looking for paint coating services in johor..this one of the new grooming centre you might not want to miss..i chance upon a newly setup grooming centre who is interested in using optiguard for coating service..went in this morning to have a look, at least i need to know the workmanship first before allowing any detailer to purchase optiguard and start using.. As we know optiguard require a very good surface preparation for it to give its best result. I had require them to prepare a black paint car for me..well this is tge easier to tell if your workmanship is good..holograms or more swirl induce after polishibg which is very common found during polishing When i arrive at the shop..the senior detailer was preparing the surface and almost done I brought along an 70% ipa incase if they dun have..the ipa is a must to use before optiguard..this is to strip off any oil left from the polishes for a proper bonding between surface and coating...i proceed with the ipa..good job as i did not see any holograms left or swirl start popping out after ipa.. The master detailer has about 15 years of detailing experience in some well known car make factory and also does dealers car in sg..technically well versed... I introduce the master detailer on the optiguard application and yes..it never fails me.. I took some picture of the front bonnet which is coating...

  22. Hi, Reading this article, what is this device that can that can quickly unlock and disarm the sirens on Toyota and Honda cars ? prior it was saying that JB thief have the "Master Key" to Honda cars as well .... is that possible ? http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/singapore-car-belonging-to-animal-activist-stolen-in-johor-baru SINGAPORE - An animal welfare activist has successfully recovered his stolen car, more than 24 hours after it vanished in Johor Baru on Monday (May 16) evening. Mr Derrick Tan's second-hand silver Toyota Mark X, which he bought just weeks ago, had been stolen while he was having a massage with three other friends at Yisheng Reflexology in Jalan Serampang at around 8.15pm. As it was late and the parking lots near the massage parlour were full, he parked a litte further away. But when they emerged two hours later, his car was gone without a trace. The 35-year-old's wallet, passport and personal belongings had been left in the vehicle. Happily for Mr Tan, he announced in a Facebook post early Wednesday (May 18) morning that his car had been retrieved and he had since returned to Singapore. "A very expensive price paid for this lesson well learnt," wrote Mr Tan, who has a substantial following on Facebook due to his animal welfare work at Voices For Animals. He also thanked his family and friends who supported him during the crisis, as well as fellow Singaporeans and people from Malaysia who reached out to assist. While the car was recovered intact, it was emptied of his belongings, Mr Tan said in response to queries from concerned friends on his Facebook post. He had earlier asked for help in a Facebook post - which has since been deleted - on Monday night. "Please help share! My car got stolen in JB Malaysia! Please help me share SLB7735P silver Color Toyota Mark X!! Please help me share esp friends in Malaysia! My passport and belongings are all in the car!" he wrote. The post was shared more than 8,000 times as of 5.30pm on Tuesday. Mr Tan said that many people have offered him money and help, even strangers who have never met him. The car thieves have also been using his credit card, which Mr Tan quickly cancelled. But before cancelling the card, he received a few SMSes about the transactions made. Some of his Facebook friends suggested that he trace the shops where the transactions were made, and ask them for CCTV footage of those who used the card. Mr Tan also told The Straits Times on Tuesday afternoon that he was waiting for his temporary passport at the Singapore consulate in Johor Baru, and that a friend had driven to Malaysia to pick him up. This was only Mr Tan's third trip to Johor with the Mark X. When he reported the case to the Malaysian police, they guessed that it was a Mark X once he told them it was a Toyota. "The police said they (the thieves) love Toyota Mark X's as the parts are easy to sell," he said. He added that police told him the car thieves have a device that can quickly unlock and disarm the sirens on Toyota and Honda cars. "It's scary to lose your car in Johor Baru," he said. "I just want people to be more aware of the danger when they drive here."

They rob me in board day light when the petrol station is quite crowed. So be cautious .
