  6. Posting this on behalf of @Wynd Hi guys, This is an unfortunate event that happened to me. Can I request for eye witnesses for an accident that happened on the 9th June 2014, at the junction of Upper Bukit Timah road turning right into Old Jurong Road between 6.30pm to 7.00pm? I was turning right from Upper Bukit Timah Road to Old Jurong Road and green arrow was lit in my favour but there was this car that dashed the red light and collided with my car. I am unsure if the red light camera went off or not. According to my claims advisor, I would probably lose this case as the other party can say that the traffic light is in his favour. And going straight usually wins the case. There was one driver driving past who kindly rolled down the window , yelled to me and pointed at him telling me he dashed the red light, best part is, I did not take down this nice guy's number or his vehicle plate which is vital information for me in this situation. So can I appeal that he or anyone who knows this guy would contact me at 9880 6818 to be my witness? Also, please help to share around if possible. I need to find the nice driver! icon_mrgreen.gif Thank you for your time.

  8. Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates will be reduced by $1 or 50 cents during certain time periods at 12 gantries for the June school holidays. The revised rates will apply from June 1 to June 29. The ERP rates will revert to pre-school holiday charges from July 1, said the Land Transport Authority (LTA) in a news release on Monday. The 12 gantries include one on the southbound Central Expressway before Braddell Road, and two along Dunearn Road. Rates for other gantries remain unchanged. The LTA monitors traffic speeds on all roads and found that traffic flow at these 12 gantries during the last June holidays was smooth enough to warrant a reduction of ERP rates this year. In addition, vehicle entry permit operating hours will end earlier at noon on weekdays for June 1 to June 30. Drivers of foreign-registered cars and motorcycles do not have to pay permit fees for the day if they drive into Singapore after 12pm and leave by 2am the following day on weekdays during this period. The LTA said this is part of an ongoing initiative to attract foreign visitors to Singapore, especially during the local school holiday period. For normal weekdays outside of Singapore's June and December school holidays, vehicle entry permit fees are charged from 2am to 5pm daily except on weekends and public holidays. The existing vehicle entry permit fee is $20 a day for cars and $4 a day for motorcycles. Source: http://www.straitstimes.com/breaking-news/...mit-hours-june-

  10. from CNA : Casino visit limit on financially vulnerable to take effect on 1 June The casino visit limit on financially vulnerable Singapore citizens and permanent residents will come into effect from 1 June 2013. The visit limit, if imposed, will set a cap on the number of times an individual may visit casinos at the integrated resorts each month. SINGAPORE: The casino visit limit on financially vulnerable Singapore citizens and permanent residents will come into effect from 1 June 2013. The visit limit, if imposed, will set a cap on the number of times an individual may visit casinos at the integrated resorts each month. Three types of visit limits will be introduced. A Voluntary Visit Limit means individuals may apply to the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) to limit their visits. Family members may apply to NCPG through a Family Visit Limit to limit a family member's visit. Persons found to have poor credit records or are vulnerable to financial harm due to gambling could have a Third-Party Visit Limit imposed on them by a committee of assessors appointed by NCPG. The committee will evaluate the individual's financial vulnerability, taking into account factors such as frequency and pattern of casino visits, credit record, work situation and information provided by him and family members. Before the committee imposes a Third-Party Visit Limit on any person, there will be an opportunity for the individual to object to the proposed visit limit. link: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singap...ner/689730.html How would they know a person is financial vulnerability apart from what they had stated ? Only possible way is through Credit Card loan ...

  13. Singapore Traffic Police have conducted an island-wide pre-dawn operation against drink-driving, arresting 16 drink drivers. The blitz took place on June 15 from 1.30am to 4.30am. At road blocks at Crawford Street, Fort Road, New Bridge Road and Outram Road, more than 80 drivers were stopped and tested for alcohol consumption. Of these, 15 men and one woman, aged between 24 and 45, were arrested for drink-driving. The highest Breath Evidential Analyser (BEA) test result was 82 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, more than twice the prescribed legal limit of 35 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. Drink drivers, on conviction, will be disqualified from driving for at least 12 months. They will lose their driving licences and have to retake the theory and practical driving tests to get their driving licences again. In addition, first-time offenders can be fined between S$1,000 and S$5,000, or jailed up to six months. Repeat offenders may be slapped with a maximum fine of S$30,000 and a mandatory jail term of up to three years. They may also be caned up to six strokes should death or serious injury be caused. 14. A car caught fire at the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) Saturday afternoon. The car, believed to be a black Lexus sports model, was near the PIE Clementi Road exit in the Tuas to Changi direction. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call at about 3.10pm concerning a vehicle on fire at the expressway. It sent a fire engine and a red Rhino to the scene, and firemen extinguished the fire with one water jet. SCDF said no one was injured. Investigation into the cause of the fire is underway. 21. http://www.asiaone.com/News/AsiaOne%2BNews...518-346619.html The Star/Asia News Network Friday, May 18, 2012 PUTRAJAYA - Beginning June 1, foreign visitors to Malaysia are no longer required to fill in the Immigration Disembarkation Card, commonly known as the IMM.26 Form. They only need to produce their passports upon entering the country. Home Ministry secretary-general Tan Sri Mahmood Adam said the procedure was no longer required following the introduction of the biometric recording system by the Immigration Department. The system records the data of foreigners through the National Enforcement Registration System (NERS). Mahmood said NERS, which was introduced on June 1 last year, fulfilled the Tourism Ministry's requirement to record the data of foreign tourists to Malaysia.
