  1. Wonder if anyone saw hit and run at Tan Quee Lan St Carpark? My metallic grey Altis kena hit and run at the car park. Am grateful if someone can give me details. If not nvm, I can pay for my own repair. Not very big issue, just want to educate the bloody driver.
  2. What would be the charge on these two bullies?
  3. last year my fren's car was stolen in KL (his car was broken into a few times the year before, right in front of the house in KL of his relatives where he usually stays) yesterday my relative's Camry was broken into, everything (golf bag, ERP card, cash, etc etc) was taken away and the windscreen was smashed. His car has keyless entry, so instead of driving it away, the 'stealer' couldnt start the engine and got angry and took eveything away. the trouble: against advice given to him, he parked his car away from the lift lobby of the basement car park, and 'hid' it behind a big column at a remote corner of the big carpark... he also hanged his expensive formal jacket in the car..... if anyone driving popular car models in MY, please watch out and be very careful where you park. Models not available in MY or not highend models are relatively 'safe'?? any other advice to prevent such break-in or car stealing?
  4. few days ago i reached home and parked at the open carpark...... as i gathered the stuff in the car to carry home, i heard thunders, and actually also the sound of rain from a distance but it was coming towards my area...... so i quickly grabbed newspaper, stacks of documents, my clothing, and few other stuff... got out, opened the back door to grab more things from back seat...... too late liao, the rain came and its a big storm!!!...........grabbed the umbrella and opened it, but half body wet..... one more thing to grab: my NTUC shopping bag.... (by now i had the newspaper under one armpit, document under the other, one hand holding umbrella plus NTUC bag, the other house keys and computer bag, car key was held between my lips..... then the car key fell off my lips and onto the ground.............. bo bian, bent down to get it.... then newspaper also dropped from armpit, and followed by my clothing (was slung over my shoulder)........... all dropped and kissed the water puddle.... everything became soaking wet..... finally, KNN a car zoomed pass and i was covered in a big splash of water.............. DEFINITELY NOT MY DAY!!
  5. Pity those staying there...most oldies. And the compensation....er.....  The way Denise Phua talks....no comment Don't cash out flats, Rochor residents urged By Joanne Chan | Posted: 16 November 2011 2106 hrs Photos1 of 1 HDB flats in Rochor Centre VideoDon't cash out flats, Rochor residents urgedhttp://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...165837/1/.html#http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...165837/1/.html#7 SINGAPORE: Residents of the Rochor Centre HDB flats have been cautioned against cashing out in the resale market. Member of Parliament for Moulmein-Kallang GRC Denise Phua has urged them to consider taking up the relocation package to Kallang, following Tuesday's announcement on the North-South Expressway (NSE). Four blocks at Rochor Centre will be making way for the NSE. Affected residents have been assured of a new flat in Kallang, and in many cases, may even enjoy some net proceeds. Following the initial shock of the news, residents have been trying to make sense of the compensation offered. Some have raised concerns the money offered is insufficient. RC chairman Eunice Phng said: "Three-room to three-room, they're getting about S$100,000, they think it's still not enough. "Because they are actually making way for the highway, and this is a very prime area, you can't get a similar area like this. "So they think the loss is there. But in terms of payment, if the authorities can look into more benefits, that will really make them happier." Home owners have the option of selling the flat in the open market, where they are likely to fetch a premium above market value. The relocation benefits can also be transferred to the new owner, who may have set their sights on the Kallang development. But the area's MP has urged residents against selling their flats. Ms Phua said: "If any of the residents were to sell too quickly without thinking through, and apply for another estate, they will not get the priority and they may find themselves stuck. "The other thing is, if they choose to cash out and use the money and find that later on they have no where else to go, they will not be -- most of them -- ... entitled to a rental flat because of the surplus they would have profited." Ms Phua also pointed out residents stand to gain from moving to Kallang. She noted that not only will they be getting a brand new flat with a fresh 99-year lease, elderly residents who currently endure the inconvenience of a lack of lifts in Rochor, will be able to benefit from having lifts on every floor in Kallang. HDB has frozen the sale of these flats for a month to ensure residents fully understand the relocation package before making a decision. It will also be holding a week-long exhibition, starting this Friday, to explain the compensation details and also provide more information on the replacement flats in Kallang. - CNA/wk We recommend
  6. Another alleged assault case by foreigners... Kena twice some more. Not another non-seizable offence again please!!! From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...on_my_chin.html Posted on 14 Nov 2011 STOMPer attacked twice by guy who snatched cab he had booked STOMPer SeekingJustice says he was assaulted by a Caucasian man who had apparently snatched the cab the STOMPer had booked. The STOMPer told STOMP in an email today (Nov 14): "Last Saturday (Nov 12) at about 0115 hrs, after finishing the night catching up with friends along Neil Road, I was waiting for a cab that my friend had booked for me. "The taxi arrived and stopped at approximately 30m away from my said location. As I ran towards the taxi, I saw two middle aged Caucasians entering it. I reached out for the cab door and opened it, and asked the two gentlemen to alight as it was the taxi that was booked for me. "One of them then became angry and agitated. Both alighted the taxi, with much displeasure and sparked off an argument with me. "One of them landed a punch to my left cheek, knocking my spectacles off in the process. "I subsequently dialed 999 and tailed them, as they simply walked away! I followed them along Neil Road towards Cantonment Road. "Somewhere after Bukit Pasoh, the same guy landed an upper cut to my chin which chipped off my molar and left a bruise. "He carried on walking and soon we reached Cantonment Police Station (I guess he didn't know his way around). "I immediately got the attention of the police officer and his particulars were taken down while I made an official police report inside the station. "I had just filed a Magistrate's Complaint on Monday and I'm now waiting for further notice. "I would also like to thank the kind soul, whom I didn't have the chance to get his name, who came to my assistance. "I hereby appeal for witnesses to come forward if you happen to be at the vicinity of Neil Road car park, at 0120 hrs on 12th Nov 11."

  9. Fined liao still kena suan. "FW" indicated it was a bike. This biker damn suay. Could be that he park his bike in a annoying way which obstruct others? From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...on_summons.html Getting summons bad enough, motorist receives one with rude message As if receiving a summons ticket was not enough, STOMPer Hao Wei was angry to see a handwritten message written on it which read, 'Serve you right!'. It is not known who wrote the message, as the pen ink used is different from the signature of the parking warden who issued it. Said the STOMPer (Sep 21): "Parking summons remark. "I am so angry with this remark. "Being issued summons already makes me fed up. "But someone wrote 'Serve you right' on the ticket. "Seriously, do you have to write this remark on the paper when I've already been fined?"

  13. Was driving along SLE today, when the taxi in front of me suddenly jammed brake. Luckily I managed to brake in time. I overtook him to prevent the incident from repeating, but was stopped by TP for careless driving. I pointed out to the TP about the braking incident, but he say he did not notice it. Instead, he issued a summon to me for "careless driving". I have a video recording of the incident: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QbMpo8UHqk4 Am I in the wrong? Could I appeal with this video?
  14. *shake head* From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...why_are_we.html Malaysian hooligans deface S'pore flag: So, why are we rejoining Malaysia Cup? In what seems to be another unsporting reaction from Malaysian football fans following their national squad's elimination from the qualifying series of World Cup 2014, a group of them was photographed holding up a defaced Singapore flag, with the word 'Looser' sprayed on it. The Malaysian squad's hopes of making it to the World Cup were dashed after they were defeated by the Singapore Lions 5-3 in their first meeting, and drew 1-1 in the second leg of the World Cup qualifying match on Thursday night (Jul 28). A STOMPer had sent in this latest photo, showing the reaction of Malaysian fans after their defeat. "Look at these Malaysians," said the STOMPer. STOMPer Singapore Sling, who is also enraged by the photo of Malaysian fans defacing the Singapore flag, said: "Look at these idiots! They can't even spell 'loser' right! So who are the real losers? "And why are we still rejoining the Malaysia Cup, after all the unsporting behaviour that they have shown us?" Another STOMPer, Eddie, came across a page on Facebook which read in Malay: "Kelab Bola Sepak Singapura Banyak Belakon", which translates to "Singapore Football Club is full of play-acting". Said the STOMPer: "I personally feel that this is an act of sore losers. They don't even show sportsmanship after a match and even attempted to punch Singapore players during the match. "Now they are making a page and mocking Singaporeans?" During the match on Thursday, a Malaysian fan tried to blind Singapore's goalkeeper by pointing a green laser pointer at him. The Malaysian captain also made disparaging comments about the Lions prior to their second meeting, saying that they are "nothing without foreign players". Then in an article published in Malaysia's Sinar Harian, the Malaysians claimed that the Singapore players were play acting, and that they are worse than well-known 'divers' like Cristiano Ronaldo.

  17. This one lor No lah, I will puke and fall into a coma if this aunty did a trenchcoat flashing . . . What I meant was she high beamed me This morning she happened to be the car in front of mine and when the traffic lights turned green she drove off at 30-35km/h as usual. I speeded up to 50km/h and overtook her on the left (she was hogging the right lane). Not happy, she flashed me a couple of times and at the next traffic lights I stopped and she kept 2 car lengths away from me. Green lights came on and I did not go immediately, waited for 10 secs and she did the same (did not drive up). Then I drove off and she followed suit but at her snail's pace. When I was 200m in front, I looked into the rear view mirror and could see that she was holding up a stretch of vehicles behind her . . . go take a kiddie ride lah aunty! (20cents for 1 minute)
  18. Got a 4 year old used car. Checked by 3rd party workshop. Good condition. Before handing over to me, still change engine oil although other wear and tear parts never change. Car was in decent condition. Drove 10 days even trying out at NSHW 160-180 kmh sprints. Perfectly fine. Day 11 sent to another regular workshop for servicing. Service bill total $2000 plus. I also supplied $1k plus of my own parts like brake pads, rotors, fluids, filters, etc for change. Service bill $2k plus does not include pads rotors etc. I'm fine with the price. ($2k is fine cos alot of work to change wear and tear items) Next day, less than 24 hours, car overheat, coolant all evaporated. Fan stopped moving. Even after resting over 2 hours and topping up with new coolant fan still not moving. Started engine. Showed Cold. Within 5 mins rose to middle and less than 10 mins went to 3/4 closing in on hot. Frustrated, turned off engine and called AA tow. Vehicle towed back to workshop who did $2k servicing and boss not ard. Car sat around for 24 hours and I got report from worker than engine gasket/block etc blow. Water in cylinder! 24 hours earlier, when $2k service was being done, I saw them change spark plug in front of me, no problem. Cylinder no water. Now 24 hours later, after servicing and overheating, tell me cylinder filled with water, sparks fouled and that it was a long ago problem! That means my driving around 10 days before servicing etc car cylinder filled with water? If yes, how did i hit 160-180km/h? If yes, when they do servicing and changed spark plug, that time no water? I got fed up since boss not around and no one could do anything. I towed vehicle to another workshop. In 48 hours after major service, the other workshop showed me engine gasket, cylinder head plus a whole load of other items damaged due to driving while overheating. Since the $2k servicing workshop boss did not get back to me I was exasperated, irritated and totally angry and asked them to proceed to service the car properly and final bill was about $8k. In view of this, i wasted good money for a c--k up. Naturally $2k servicing boss will deny his fault. But look at it this way, Imagine, 24 hours after a $2k servicing and engine overheat and engine blow, theoretically the blame is clear. However, it was my fault. I failed to look at it from a legal standpoint and send the car to Authorised Agent. By doing so, whatever problem caused the overheating by authorised agent would be noted and if it was something done by the $2k workshop and reflected in the invoice, I would have a rock solid llegal case. Being just me, I asked to tow the vehicle back to the $2k workshop and they generally claimed nothing wrong. That overheating was because vehicle is old and that it was not caused by their poor servicing. After servicing 24 hours overheat and engine spoil, if not them then hard for layman like me to understand. Prior, 10 days after getting used car no servicing yet no problem. So many thousands lost just because of suay. Anything u fellas wanna add? Really lan lan suck thumb. Makes the paint work damaged post look tame in comparison

  23. Dear Bros & Sis, Sink-a-Pore has already started sinking... Our government has sold all our power plants and our only petrol company away. I think they keep the $$ into their own pockets... (It's so damn convenient of Temasek Holdings to declare that they are not strictly a sovereign wealth fund too!) Power-Seraya to a unit of Malaysia's YTL Power International for $3.8 billion! Tuas Power went to Chinese firm Huaneng for $4.23 billion! Senoko Power sold to a consortium led by Marubeni Corp for $4 billion! SPC sold to PetroChina for 1.26 billion! Expect electricity, water and fuel costs to keep increasing till no end... Now that we know China purchased so many of our national assets, this easily explains why there are so many "ah tiongs" pouring into Singapore! Our power source is the pulse of our nation. To have sold it away means we are held hostage to foreign countries. Even if we have water source, when there is no electricity, our waters cannot be pumped to our homes. We need to get rid of the LEEches before its too late!
