  1. Beauty is in the eye of beholder. The new look is too much a change for me, especially the odd looking C-pillar. OK I boomer, @RadX say one. Other than these few photos, Kia did not reveal any specification of the new Cerato replacement, which is schedule to debut on March 27, at the New York Auto Show.
  2. Yishun once again being Singapore’s Florida. What happened? An elderly driver in a Kia Picanto lost control in a multi-storey car park and crashed into a group of parked motorbikes. We can see that the bikes in question in the Facebook post are in a pile together, with varying levels of damage How did that red one end up there sia? There was also a motorbike just randomly lying on the ground away from the group. I doubt this was intentional because the bikes aren't absolutely wrecked, though how the bikes ended up where they are does makes me go "????". How do you crash into bikes and make them pile up on top of each other, accidentally? Online chatter There were of course plenty of Yishun comments. Others blamed the eldelry person and used this as a point to show that the elderly are not fit for driving. As someone with a grandma who can drive, I can tell you this is not the case. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 3. Hi, anyone here still driving a 2008 Kia Picanto? Any problems you all facing with key parts like gear and engine? Or generally still ok for you all, just usual wear and tear?
  4. Have you heard of the domino effect? According to Google, it is referred to as "the cumulative effect produced when one event sets off a chain of similar events". Watch the domino effect in action here: What Happened? A Honda Shuttle and a tipper truck slammed into each other as they decided to switch lanes simultaneously. The collision caused major damage to the Honda Shuttle, leaving it with a pretty wrecked rear with a shattered window. Debris also flew into the adjacent lanes, which caused a grey Honda Civic to jam brake on lane 2 of the expressway to avoid some pieces of small debris. As a result of the Honda Civic's emergency brake, a Kia Cerato Forte Koup behind it could not brake in time and rear-ended the Honda Civic. The rear-ending seemed pretty intense as the Honda Civic rolled several metres forward, despite its brakes being applied. Needless to say, the accident left the front bumper of the Kia a complete wreck too. Netizens' Comments The biker is very lucky. And kudos to him for remaining so calm! IMO, the Honda Civic driver most likely panicked and performed an e-brake. I am confused.... ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  5. Hi all, Going to collect car soon. Some newbie questions. 1. Will the warranty void if I upgrade the kia dashcam to other brand with battery pack connected to fuse box from outside workshop? 2. Will the warranty void if I upgrade the car battery to higher capacity battery? Any recommended brand and workshop? TIA
  6. Anyone can advice. Asking for friend. The Kia Seltos and price is similar to Citroen C4 yet comes with no safety tech. May i know why is people still choosing Kia Seltos? For a similar price and car size segment, is there something similar with comprehensive safety tech and value for money for us to consider?
  7. Am thinking of changing to a sedan from a crossover, due to itchy backside, excuses are unsatisfactory fc and poor acceleration, before my legs are too weak to squat getting into car. What's your preference and what you think of each choice ? Hope to get some pointers from fellow forumers. Thanks.
  8. After a long hiatus, a new compact / mid size MPV is coming from Kia finally, which will be officially unveiled in another 10 days time. This shall be a strong challenger to the BMW 2GT, Citroen Grand C4 SpaceTourer, Honda Freed, Peugoet 5008, Renault Grand Scenic, Toyota Sienta and VW Touran. Kia has officially announced the return of the Carens nameplate in a brand new minivan that will be unveiled on December 16. The teaser video published by the Korean automaker gives us a glimpse of the Carens which is rumored to share its underpinnings with the Seltos SUV. The fourth-generation Carens appears to adopt a more SUV-like appearance instead of the outdated one-box MPV silhouette of its predecessors. It also inherits Kia’s latest design language with thin LED headlights and full-width taillights similar to the ones on the new Sportage. The new Carens will likely be longer and taller than the Seltos in order to provide more interior space and practicality. The tall roofline will also allow for a third row of seats making it a seven-seater like its predecessor. After its world premiere on December 16, the model will roll out in India, follow by other markets at a later date.
  9. Kia Concept EV9 if officially previewed as a large and boxy electric SUV. This EV9 Concept will be officially unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show on 17 Nov 2021, together with the Hyundai Seven Concept (preview of the upcoming Ioniq 7).
  10. Hi everyone, I'm new here. Not sure if this is the correct place to post but I'm looking for a workshop to repair my Stonic 2019 model's front bumper grille above number plate (refer to attachment). Got chipped off after bumping into wall at carpark. Been to a few workshops at Ubi area but all told me no parts available. Was thinking of going back to C&C however the cost should be quite high. Appreciate any advice here. Thanks in advance! 😊
  11. Have to say that Kia is really stepping up the game. Basing on these silhouette shots, I think it 同父异母 (same father different mother) sibling, Hyundai Tucson, has no fight... The official teaser campaign for the 2022 Kia Sportage has begun. The new Sportage will be officially unveiled on 8 June 2021,which is exactly 1 week from now.
  12. Nope, nothing wrong with my title, you are looking at a brand new Hyundai look-alike model... Still, it is a very handsome car! Kudos to the Korean for the continual improvement in design and quality.
  13. The distance cousin of Hyundai Ioniq 5. Basing on the silhouette seen below, it look like a sportier version of Ioniq 5. I like! Hyundai inaugurated the E-GMP platform dedicated to electric vehicles a couple of weeks ago with the Ioniq 5 and now sister brand Kia is about to unveil the EV6 riding on the same underpinnings. The zero-emissions model is the firm's first EV to adopt the latest design language and adopts the new nomenclature that will be used by future dedicated electric cars, as small as the EV1 and as large as the EV9. Much like the Ioniq 5, it takes the shape of a crossover and a dedicated page on Kia UK's site mentions the design is derived from the 2019 Imagine concept. It looks nothing like other production models from the South Korean brand and has the typically short overhangs you'd expect from a dedicated EV. It will be able to cover more than 483Km and will only take 18 minutes to charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent, which is the same thing we can say about the Ioniq 5. Should you be in a hurry, four minutes of charging equate to 100Km of range. 0 to 100Km/h will take only 3.5 seconds, which is quite interesting considering the quickest and most powerful Ioniq 5 of the bunch does the job in 5.2 seconds. EVs don't excel in terms of top speed and it should be the same story with the EV6, although it seems to be sportier than the Hyundai version, which is capped at 185 Km/h regardless of configuration.
  14. All Kia / Hyundai owners (2016 onwards models) How is your general experience with Hyundai & Kia In the past few years ? Ive been keen on the New CN7 Avante for awhile now, but i keep seeing recalls, problems, horror stories online From Theta 2 engine, Gamma Engine, DCT problems (in tuscon 1.6T), IVT problems , Aircon got water sounds, trunk seeping water , extreme vibration when idling, screeching, door opening while driving, transmission jerking, loss of power... wah too many to list.... But all these problems ive not heard from my friends that own hyundai & kia locally, generally said problem free There is even a nationwide petition against hyundai & korean govt for an apology ... 222k people signed. Was keen on CN7 Avante Elite... Seems like good value for money with packed features ( Dual power seats with driver memory, Beautiful interior, Heated n Aircon seats) And stuff like the seat functions above... headache to add aftermarket also right? Mazda 3 has driver power seat with memory... but no passenger side ... Altis dont even need to see Having second thoughts on the Hyundai & Kia Brand... Any bros wanna share their experience good or bad ? Drive safe all
  15. No, it's not clickbait! The Cerato drove right into the motorist and sends him sprawling from shock and the impact. This happened on 20th January, on the west coast highway, The Cerato driver obviously had his eyes on the wheel, apparently, given how he drove right into the motorist. Who would've thought that this day would come? That we'd actually see an idi*t blatantly driving into someone else. I braced myself watching this and felt my heart wrench into anxious anticipation of what could happen LOL. My guess is that the driver was either irresponsibly texting, using his mobile phone or making TikTok videos. Or, he could have dozed off for a bit after a late night's up – but this doesn't absolve him of any responsibility for being such a road hazard. This looks like a scene in a drama where xxx tries hurt zzz out of jealousy and tries to make it look like an accident. Like in Stairway To Heaven. *dramatic heart-wrenching angry music plays* 🥺 Here's what the others on SG Road Vigilante's YT channel had to say: Attempted murder is a tad dramatic but the hit was so blatant and head-on!!! Ugh, some people really don't deserve to drive. 🥵🥵🥵 Imagine your body sprawled on the highway with cars furiously zooming by, still unaware of whatever happened... yikes. My heart goes out to the poor unsuspecting motorist who did not see it coming, literally. I hope he's alright – mentally and physically. No sympathy for the Cerato, unless he had a pretty damn good reason for this. This Cerato driver is the epitome of "your eyes grow on your buttock" ok. 😤
  16. Hi k3 owners , Sesrching for a 5yr old k3 , would like to check with you owners about the aircon effectiveness and also if good and bad about this car. Honest comments appreciated. Thank you
  17. Lol...... https://www.motor1.com/news/449767/kia-k5-races-itself-ad/
  18. Honestly, I have lost count of the number of SUV / crossover available in the Kia stable. A quick check on Kia (Korea) website, revealed the following: Telluride Mohave (Borrego) Sorento Sportage Seltos Niro Stonic Soul That seems to be a lot of SUV / crossover for company with a total of 19 distinctive models in it lineup (some are not available here through). Now, Kia has just announced another new sub-compact SUV in India, and they plan to introduce it to other market at a later stage. That's too much of SUV / crossover if you ask me, but it seems that NO auto manufacturers are immune to the "crossover virus", which started spreading since 5 - 10 years ago. Kia Sonet Kia Sonet is an all-new subcompact SUV to be produced at Kia's Anantpur facility for sale in India and also exported to international markets. Rivalling the likes of Hyundai Venue and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Kia Sonet shares its engine and platform with the sister company Venue subcompact SUV and will be the second car in the country to feature clutchless transmission. Upfront, the Kia Sonet gets the company’s signature ‘Tiger Nose’ with all-LED headlamps. The side profile looks quite impressive too and the car has a decent amount of lines and creases running across the body length, further escalating its sporty appeal. Now, coming to the interiors of the Kia Sonet, the SUV gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with as many as 55 UVO connected features as well. Moreover, you also get a digital instrument cluster and the same will come as standard on higher-spec variants. Apart from these, Kia Sonet comes with a three-spoke steering wheel with integrated buttons and scroll wheels. Prime features on the Kia Sonet include an auto climate control system, Bose sound system, electric sunroof, front ventilated seats, ambient lighting and six airbags – front, side and curtain. The Sonet also gets the world’s first virus protection tech for better safety in times like the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Kia will also be offering a smartwatch with the Sonet for remote functions. The list doesn’t end here as the Kia Sonet will also come with a wireless charger with a cooling function. The Sonet will be offered in a dual trim concept including the GT-Line trim that gets sporty-looking highlights on the outside as well as inside. The Kia Sonet will be launched with three engine options – two petrol and a diesel. These include a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol motor, a more powerful 1.0 T-GDi petrol mill and a 1.5-litre CRDi diesel unit. Transmission options on the Kia Sonet include five and six-speed manuals along with a seven-speed DCT, six-speed automatic, and more importantly, a new six-speed Smartstream intelligent manual transmission (iMT) that was seen on the Hyundai Venue iMT very recently. The biggest benefit of this transmission is that it offers clutchless shifting with the control of a manual shift lever. That said, the iMT on the Kia Sonet offers operation exactly like a manual gearbox with the need to shift gears but there is no clutch pedal. The Kia Sonet will also be offered with a six-speed automatic gearbox option with the 1.5-litre diesel engine option. You also get multi-drive & traction modes and grip control for the automatic variants of the Sonet.
