  2. Dear bros, Just encountered a close shave this evening when driving in my mscp. Fortunately, I was going very slow ~8km/h according to my DVR software, and was alert, if not an accident might have happened. Please drive slowly in mscp and for those who cycle, please dont cycle against traffic flow esp downslope. For parents, kindly watch over your kids especially when they go cycling "just at the void deck". Kids don't know the danger and think it is fun chiong down slopes.... Ignore the date/time stamp. Something wrong with my DVR.

I wonder will they be picked to do MY's NS or not..... Since we are also in the same situation, I'm curious to know too... Anybody has such experience?
  6. i am asking for a father on this parenting issue... if you have kids in pre-school (or pri 1) and you are living with your parents. Your dad loves to watch some violent shows or movies in the evening, shows like NCIS and living dead, which has mixed of violent, dead bodies, gross images, sex, etc. which you think may would have bad influence or negative impact on the young kids. So the issue is do you think it is ok for kids of this age (8 and below) to watch these shows or you should stop your dad from watching shows when the kids are around? at least till the kids are in bed.

  9. Kindergarten school bus carrying kids crashes through barrier and into other vehicles A school bus carrying nine students from Glory Kindergarten crashed through a barrier near Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary School near Upper Bukit Timah Road. The incident, which happened around noon on Tuesday, saw the bus hitting two stationary vehicles and a bicycle. School principal Mrs Helen Chua told The Straits Times that the bus driver was making his way out of the kindergarten grounds when he appeared to lose control of his vehicle, which ploughed through the fence straight ahead instead of turning right as intended. The children on board, who are aged between four and six, along with their adult bus attendant and driver escaped with "very minor injuries" such as bruises and bumps, said Mrs Chua. "Everyone had their seat belts on so that was probably what prevented something worse from happening," she added, noting that it is the first time such an incident has happened with any of the school's transportation services. The bus driver is understood to be a male in his late 40s with a clean driving record and an employee of one of the school's longtime bus service vendors. Police investigations are ongoing. Wah lau eh, what's going on nowadays..

  15. From ST Forum: http://www.straitstimes.com/premium/forum-...llowed-20130301 CHILDCARE CENTRES Should sick kids be allowed in? Published on Mar 01, 2013 MY HUSBAND and I heard from our friends that children sent to childcare centres tend to fall ill frequently, at least in the initial months. As first-time parents, we are concerned and anxious about sending our daughter to a childcare centre. We visited three centres and inquired about their guidelines on admitting children who are unwell. All three centres said they would admit a sick child as long as he does not run a fever higher than 38 deg C. The child would be admitted even if he were having a runny nose or cough, or on medication such as antibiotics. The centres said they were running a business; if they adhered to the Government's "grey" guidelines and barred a sick child from class, working parents would be upset. They would then remove their children from the centres and put them in more "tolerant" centres. We were appalled to hear this. Wouldn't everyone benefit if parents and centres practised social responsibility by not allowing a sick child into the class, where he might spread the illness to other children? Aren't parents granted childcare leave to look after their sick children? I hope to hear from the relevant authorities on the health guidelines for childcare centres. Helen Chong Xu Rong (Ms)
  16. Si gin na.... From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...eding_room.html Posted on 08 Nov 2012 Youths refuse to budge from breastfeeding room and even show woman the finger Two youths refused to budge when a STOMPer politely asked them to leave a breastfeeding room so that she could nurse her baby. One of them also started spewing vulgarities and showed her the finger. In a video sent to STOMP, the STOMPer had repeatedly asked the youths to leave the room, but to no avail. In one instance, one of the youths had replied, "Yes, we will leave the room," but remained seated and gave no intention of leaving. He also seemed to have claimed that he was "breastfeeding his baby". When the STOMPer told the youths that she would put the video up on the Internet, the same youth started hurling vulgarities and told her to go ahead. He also laughed and showed her his middle finger. In an email to STOMP early this morning (Nov 9), one of the youths had requested for the story to be removed because he is embarrassed.
