  1. If you kena caught in action with your wife by your kids (<7yr old) opening the door that you forgot to lock properly, what is the first thing you do and then tell them? Any ideas?
  2. For details over here : http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?t=1974906 "I'm very angry that while people are actively collecting funds for the earthquake and cyclone victims, there's this potential group going around scaming people!!! Part 1: Around 8pm i went to hougang mall... then just when i was about to go home, i saw this couple being approached by this kid Flash back to 3 weeks back, it was sort of like a deja vu scene: when i was at kovan mrt (outside heartland mall), i was approached by this kid who claimed to be part of some kind of "entrepreneur game" and have to collect $60? or more in order to win? i don't know I asked him for the coy name then, but he tried to skirt the question and then produced this paper clip, and ask me for $10 (saying what people have gave him $10, even more). i say dun have, so he say $5, $2 also can. i dug at my wallet but i was not willing to fork out $2 for it, so i ask him for $1 change. Ok, but today seeing the same scene, I walked forward to try to "listen in". About 2 meters from the couple, this guy approached me. He began with the exact same lines... so i raised my voiced and confronted him there and then. I asked for the company name/organisation name, what was this course they were talking about and why this game need to take so long To that, he replied that the game was continuous..., and the company was a consortium of groups. [Now I know why liao...], called simi "Private Training Hub". Of course i doubted the existence of such a generic coy name... So i asked for the manager name... He gave me this guy's number (his manager i presume), but cannot contact him, so I continue to grill the same guy. (and got his phone number). I retorted that being in this course/coy whatever sh!t, shouldn't he at least know something about the coy? but he gave this excuse that he just joined 2 weeks back, and blah blah blah some crap. So I asserted that what they were doing is tantamount to cheating. The guy who was talking to the couple said that they were not in the know at all (ya right, who would believe now). of course by then the couple's attention were already diverted, the couple ran away after that (my confrontation with the two guys). oh, before that they even compared themselves to tissue sellers. saying they also got no license, same as them. so i say, why not I call mata on the spot... i was suprised he readily accepted the challenge. So i wanted to give them chance... so just give them verbal warning first.. after finding out how many of them were around Part 2: so i walked across to hougang interchange, on the opposite side of the road. initially i wanted to take bus go home liao. but i was getting infuriated that there are these potential cheats out there while people were performing on tv to get donations so i approached the passenger service counter at the bus interchange. but no, they don't want to handle even though it's just outside their premises. they say, "we cannot interfere, you want can call police" so i call mata lor. "Hello police ah? got ginna soliciting money from public without license at hougang mrt outside oub" around 10 minutes later i saw them (the kids) running across to the interchange. (I assume they saw mata) They ran like the wind haha. I walked forward to confront two of those crossing the road. Of course they tried to shake me off, giving lame excuse say got what meeting and all those crap. But i persist and continue to grill this first guy previously and ask what school he from, simi course. oh mean while the other 4 people hanging around eddypsp shop. After lecturing them further, the two guys joined up with the other 4 and were like waiting for me to board my bus... " This is quoted from the website, just to spread some awareness! Let your close ones and friends know too!

    Having Kids?

Was having lunch with some colleagues and we talked about the issue of having kids. Personally, my wife and I plan not to have kids. I have been against the idea since years ago but I would leave the ultimate decision to the one who would have to physically suffer for 9 months per kid. Thankfully we have the same views, so no conflict. My colleagues suggested that parental objections might be an issue, but for us, we have settled that In this society which is becoming more competitive both within (think of all the super kiasu parents who send their kids for tuition and enrichment classes) and without (think FT), is it really a MUST to have kids? If one is having kids for the sake of having them, or just for themselves, isn't that a selfish way of thinking? Sad to say, not everyone I know with kids has them for the love of children. IMHO, that's the only good reason to start a family. I'm not undecided or anything. Our decision is firm for now, though it might change in the future. Just like to see what the folks on this forum think abt this issue
  10. lets see what is our kids load on our forumers
  11. I am sure we all can see that there are members here who doesn't drive.. well that not an issue albeit strange cos this is after all a car forum. We do get our fair share of kiddos who just register for the sake of talking kok which is fine to a certain degree. I don't dispel the remote possibility that just maybe the teenage girl who doesn't own a car and wouldn't likely consider owning one in the next 5 years enthusiastically joins a car forum to learn how do we polish a throttle body or how we can ensure our alternator is in good working condition. But recently we noticed a spate of little young generation Y girls registering... i came up with some reasons... hope you can contribute 1. Bored and nothing to do 2. Car forum is a good place to find potential guys since most guys in the forum "drives" which makes them a pretty good candidate... 3. Curious 4. 5. 6.
  12. We see the decadance of society especially the young. The young here refers to the teens somewhere between the age of 17-20 The get into relationship easily, disregard modesty. For example going out with strangers, in their vehicle. They tend to see relationship and sex as something akin to fashion... They get involved with older men and get wasted, Money is their key objective where older working men can satisfy their needs monetarily and of course a free ride. We do notice a trend in "acting virgin" where people who are borishly handling their sexuality pretending to be an innocent naive little damsel. This irksome shift in society has greatly caused many unwanted pregnancies and degrading of moral standards... in short.. singapore's future jialat liao

  14. From: http://www.asiaone.com/Digital/News/Story/...1211-40649.html X BOX-ED THE video game was so important to these two young boys that they continued playing even when they were punched and kicked by a group of teens. The boys were picked on, presumably for hogging a demonstration Xbox console at the Best Denki store at Ngee Ann City at about 4pm last Tuesday. Their mother, 35, a housewife, had left them in the store and gone shopping. Timmy, 10, and Tommy, 9, were playing Halo 3, a game they didn't have at home. We are not using the boys' real names as they are minors. About two hours later, four teenage boys and a girl approached them. Timmy said: 'The group came up behind us. They didn't ask us to let them play or anything. 'One of them started saying, 'To play, you must press Reset'. 'When he reached forward, I told him, 'Don't press, please don't press.' But his pleas fell on deaf ears. 'We asked them to go away and not to disturb us,' Tommy said. Instead, the boys said the teens started scolding them. There were two other boys at a neighbouring console - a third console was not working - but the group did not pick on them. When the brothers ignored the taunting group, the teens became aggressive. One walked up to Timmy and threw a punch at the boy's right eye. Instinctively, Timmy flailed his arms to protect himself from the golden-haired teen who attacked him. Timmy said: 'I held on to the controller with one hand and tried to punch back with the other.' But Timmy's attacker skipped out of his reach, as Timmy held on to the controller that was tethered to the console. Meanwhile, his younger brother was being roughed up by two other teens. Tommy said: 'They kept pushing me around and saying I took my hands off the controller, but I didn't.' The group decided to leave when Timmy started crying from the punch, but not before one of them kicked the back of the sobbing boy's legs. Timmy retaliated and, this time, he managed to kick back at his attacker. This defiance act brought the group back - they surrounded the two boys and shouted at them. VULGAR LANGUAGE Five minutes after the incident started, the boys' mother returned. She said: 'When I saw the group, I rushed over with my handphone ready to call the police. 'One of the guys kept accusing my son of using vulgar language on them.' Timmy admitted that he did swear at the group because he had been punched. He then pointed out the teen who had hit him. His mother said: 'The guy was hiding behind his friends but he said 'yes' when I asked if he had punched my son. 'I was angry because they shouldn't have laid their hands on my sons.' The teens defended themselves for about 10 minutes. During that time, her boys continued playing the game and didn't speak up. In the end, unsure who had started the quarrel, she made both sides apologise to one another. She then took her sons away to hear their side of the story. She said her sons were fighting back tears and clenching their fists when they told her what had happened. 'I asked them, 'When people beat you, you should do something. You should run away or ask for help. Why did you still continue to play?' But they only shrugged. When contacted, a Best Denki spokesman said that there is no limit to how long a customer can use the demonstration game consoles, and that this was normal in the market. He said: 'As far as we know, most game shops do not stipulate a time frame. 'Should someone hog the game consoles, our staff member will politely seek the cooperation of the gamers to allow other people to use the consoles.' He added that they have not encountered customers who hog the game consoles in their stores as they have 'sufficient' consoles. The spokesman said the 4Dec quarrel was the first time such an incident has occurred. He said: 'Our staff member assisted in calming the commotion around the gaming area and requested the parties involved to call their parents.' The police confirmed that a report had been made about the incident and said that investigations are ongoing.

  17. Heart Attacks In Kids: Rare But Real CHICAGO, Oct. 1, 2007 (AP) Beth Meter is a cardiac nurse who has seen plenty of heart attacks, so when her son complained of sudden crushing chest pain that spread to his arm, she was certain he was having one. Doctors at first didn't believe her. That's because her son had just turned 13. A report from Ohio doctors documenting nine cases over 11 years in kids as young as 12 says heart attacks in children are a rare but under-recognized problem. For Beth's son, Dan, it took a month to see a specialist who confirmed the diagnosis. Luckily, 1
  18. 1. Do your kids prefer to take public transportation than to seat in Daddy's car? 2. I guess once they reached their teenage-hood, they probably don't like to join you for a road trip even . Regards,
