  1. Initially, authorities in England charged Glenn Knowles and Richard Mant with trying to defraud their insurance company. The pair of men co-own a Lamborghini, or at least they did, until Knowles misplaced it during a night of binge drinking. Prosecutors weren't buying the story that Mr. Knowles took the car and then drank until he erased his mind as a way of coping with a bad time in his personal life. The matter went to trial, and after six days, a jury conceded that it didn't seem like fraud, ultimately acquitting the pair. It's not the first time Knowles has lost a car. He once tucked a Mercedes behind a nightclub so well that it took a deep search to find it. This time, the Lamborghini seriously cannot be found, despite having a tracking system installed. Mitigating the charges of fraud are the long history of high-end car ownership by the two men, and their ability to keep making payments. So, despite the nutty insurance claim, it didn't strike the jury that this was an attempt to bilk the company. Perhaps, even though exonerated, Mr. Knowles might do well to be sentenced to a period of walking. Then, he'll only have to worry about losing a shoe.
  2. These are the first images that you can find of the pre-production, 225mph Lamborghini which will go on sale early next year with a price tag that is quite irrelevant since most of us won't be able to afford one. But if you do have about a million in your pocket, this is quite a feasible buy. The new Lambo features a bespoke carbon composite chassis and a brand new 7.0-litre V12 engine, rumoured to have between 700-720bhp. And ever since Audi took over the wheel at Lambo, the range topping version will have four-wheel drive as standard and carbon fibre panels to make this mean machine super light. Its kerbweight is targeted to be less that 1500kg which means acceleration in this Lambo would mean neck aches and massive G forces on your eyeballs since 0-100km/h will take about 3.0 seconds. Strangely though, the new Lambo will not feature a DSG transmission because it would be
  3. This will probably be the coolest looking 'environmentally friendly' Lamborghini the world has ever seen. Its a concept of the new Lamborghini Madura which is scheduled to be Lamborghini's first ever supercar attempt to please tree-huggers. Its downsized, sophisticated aerodynamic slimmer body means that the Madura is slated to be more environmentally friendly than its other fuel guzzling counterparts. Known as the Lamborghini Ankonian concept, this mid-engine supercar features special OLEDs which have been flushed between the bodywork to act as headlamps, And this Lamborghini, as with all Lambos, is as bold and aggressive as ever. Even the name Ankonian, orginates from a bull famous for black hair. The man who designed it, Slavche Tanevsky, clearly had his eye on creating the next Batmobile.. This revolutionary design looks to bring Lamborghini's styling department up to a whole new level, making this one even more radical than the Reventon. Hopefully this car will be released as shown by 2016 because I must say, this car looks absolutely stunning..
  4. The Lamborghini Estoque (Spanish pronunciation: [esˈtokwe]) is a concept car built by Lamborghini. It is a four-door sedan that was introduced at the 2008 Paris Motor Show.[1] [2]The Estoque is the first front-engine vehicle by Lamborghini since the LM002 utility vehicle. Despite being classed as a concept car, the Estoque is being seriously considered for production.[3]. It currently houses a 5.2 litre V10 engine, although there has been speculation that this could be replaced by a V12, V8, or possibly even a hybrid engine (as suggested by Lamborghini's Brand Director, Manfred Fitzgerald).[4] As with other Lamborghinis, the Estoque derives its name from bullfighting. An estoque is a type of sword traditionally used by matadors. **Kop from wikipedia** Video @ http://www.cnet.com.au/cartech/cars/0,2000...feed=pt_estoque

  11. Friday May 11, 6:17 AM Lamborghini launches lightened version of Gallardo SINGAPORE: Italian car maker Lamborghini has just launched its newest model - the Gallardo Superleggera. The Superleggera which means Superlight, is 100kg lighter than the regular Gallardo. This latest car, revealed on Thursday at a launch in Singapore, boasts 530 horsepower and is made mostly of lightweight carbon-fibre parts. And this allows the driver to reach high speeds in a shorter time, while using less fuel. The cost? A cool S$918,000, inclusive of COE. In the super-car ladder, the Superleggera is said to be close to the Murcielago flagship. Lamborghini says it will also soon launch a new range of its Murcielago and it would be called, the Murcielago Roadster. - CNA/yy

  14. The main design characteristics of the car are the flowing lines of the rear and middle sections which remind of human muscles stretching to the back. The front end, which is slightly different from the rear, gives a sense of speed and forward movement when viewed form the side angles. The side air intakes are integrated in the body - a typical styling cue of Lamborghini's sportcars. http://automen.blogspot.com/2007/02/lambor...ga-concept.html
  15. This marks the 2nd time the next-generation supercar has been totalled on public roads - and it's not even available on the market yet! Monday, June 19, 2006 Lamborghini officially unveiled the next generation Murcielago, known as the LP640, at the Geneva Motor Show this past March. Originally projected to hit the streets in spring, the date had been pushed back to September, which means this exotic is not yet available for consumers. Lamborghini is on schedule to produce a total of 300 units this year, all of which have already been sold out. Although the LP640 is not yet available to the public, there are a handful currently being driven on public roads usually with automotive journalists or Lamborghini drivers behind the wheel. That's why it comes as a shock that not only one, but two of these pre-production models has already been wrecked on public roads. The most recent being in St. Andrae, Austria on June 15, 2006. According to witnesses, the Lamborghini lost control and crashed into a tree after attempting to pass another vehicle. The car burst into flames - the driver had to be flown to a nearby hospital after suffering severe burns. The Lamborghini was on its way to a press event at the time of the accident.

  18. Reporting from Australia Hatchback hate: Lamborghini chased By Dylan Welch March 13, 2006 The road rage incident started with a glance and quickly became one of the more bizarre pursuits on Sydney's roads. As the driver of a yellow Lamborghini sat in peak hour traffic in Homebush at around 8.20am yesterday he flashed an annoyed look at the driver of a Suzuki Swift, who was booming music out of his car stereo, say police. It was hardly a call to arms, but his frown provoked a 30-minute pursuit along Parramatta Road from Homebush to Glebe as the Lamborghini attempted to get away from the clearly agitated driver of the Suzuki, who tailgated the supercar and at one point even attempted to ram it. "The Suzuki Swift was changing lanes, getting behind the Lamborghini and tailgating and also coming beside the Lamborghini at lights and revving [his car] and yelling at the driver," Inspector Sue Trusty of Glebe Police told smh.com.au. Despite being hopelessly outclassed by the supercar, the driver of the diminutive hatchback managed to pursue the Lamborghini through heavy traffic to Glebe, where the frightened driver flagged down a police car. Police were unable to catch the Suzuki as it sped down a side street and disappeared. The shaken Lamborghini driver lodged an incident report with officers at Glebe police station, leaving his car parked in Talfourd Street in a restricted area reserved for police cars. He was then given a lift home by police, leaving the luxury vehicle to be picked up by his company. Inspector Trusty suggested the driver of the Suzuki may have been suffering from delusions of grandeur during the pursuit. "When they were stopping at lights he was the one revving up. He must have been delirious if he thought he was going to drag [the Lamborghini] off." The high-end Lamborghini, one of only 60 in Australia, can reach 100kmh in 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of over 300kmh. The Suzuki Swift hits 100/kmh in 10.0 seconds and has a top speed of 190kmh. Police inquiries are continuing.

  20. http://edition.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/europe/0...i.ap/index.html Varoooom! Friday, May 14, 2004 Posted: 1726 GMT (0126 HKT) ROME, Italy (AP) -- Italian drivers who like to use highways as their personal speed-tracks are about to lose the race. Italy's state police presented a sleek new addition Friday: a Lamborghini Gallardo, with a top speed of 309 kph (192 mph). The car is ready for service, bedecked with a siren, painted blue-and-white, and the word "POLIZIA" -- "police" -- stenciled on the side. Police showed it off at an anniversary celebration in Rome on Friday. They said the Lamborghini will be used on the Salerno-Reggio Calabria highway in southern Italy, for emergencies and to transport organs for transplant. Lamborghini, which is owned by Volkswagen and based near Bologna in northern Italy, donated the car. The six-speed, two-door luxury vehicle promises the ability to go from zero to 100 kph (60 mph) in four seconds, and has a list price of US$165,000 (euro145,180 in Europe).
