  1. "Welcome to another episode of Jay Leno's Garage" - is Jay Leno's usual introduction whenever he starts off a web video. Visiting his garage recently was an iconic but important Lamborghini. At 20 mins it is nearly the running length of a sitcom, but may I say if you are a car enthusiast, it is truly worthy of your time. Visiting his garage was the legendary Lamborghini 350 GT from 1965 - The first Lamborghini ever. With him is Andrew Romanowski of Lamborghini Club of America, and together they discuss about the car and a brief history of the marque before finishing off with a auralgasmic drive down the street. If you are a young car enthusiast probably from the iGeneration and are more familiar with recent models like the Gallardo, or Aventador.. then you should watch this. Think of it as a automotive history lesson.
  2. There is a new automotive video blog production of sorts called The BHP Project and they have kicked off with a really good video but an astonishing car, one of the rarest in the world. The Lamborghini Reventon Roadster. Yes not the ordinary Reventon but the ultra-rare Roadster variant. For a new start up it is impressive they got to drive one of the current rarest car in the world and while their video production is not Top Gear quality it is good enough for us to ogle at the raging bull masterpiece.
  3. [extract] The Lamborghini Gallardo started production back in 2003 and is the best-selling Lamborghini of all time with more than 10,000 sales globally. To mark the end-of-life of the Gallardo, the Italian car maker has launched a 2013MY LP 560-4 model, which is labeled as
  4. The first images for the facelifted Gallardo Spyder are here, and it wears the similar trigonometry inspired face which does not fit well for the Spyder. Though personally I feel that the extremely sharp styling does not work as well as it did with the coupe. Maybe it's the colour or the camera angles, but perhaps its looks better in the flesh. Besides the folding soft top, the Spyder is essentially similar to its coupe sibling, which was revealed at the recently concluded Paris Motor Show. It wears a new set of two-tone 19-inch Apollo polished alloys and feature bigger air intakes ahead of the front rims. Like in the coupe the powertrain air outlet area is wider for improved thermodynamic efficiency. What do you guys think? Am I too harsh on the looks or do you think it will grow on us?
  5. Many would have seen the Lamborghini Estoque Concept car (second image from top) which was made known to the world a few years back at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. The Lamborghini Estoque is a mid-engine, rear wheel drive sports car and it has four doors. Many have commented that Lamborghini has made something different from what is usually done and that is to come out with a four door sports sedan. But these people are not aware of a previous Lamborghini car that has four doors and that car is known as the Lamborghini Espada Frua Faena (top most image). In 1978, Italian coach builder Pietro Frua build a four door Lamborghini car based on the Espada grand tourer. As mentioned above, the car is known as the Lamborghini Espada Frua Faena and it was built on a reinforced 1974 Espada Series 2 chassis. Pietro Frua took eight months to build this four door Lamborghini. He managed to add an extra seven inches to the standard Espada chassis. This was to accommodate the rear seats and also to fit the rear doors. In the end, the car was over 4.5 metres in length and weighed 200kg more than the normal Espada. Lamborghini Espada The extra weight did not give the 350bhp V12 engine much problems but it was clear that the extra length affected its handling characteristics and hence, it also affect the overall performance. The Lamborghini Espada Frua Faena was showcased at the 1978 Turin Motor Show and again in 1980 at the Geneva Auto Show. It did not attract much attention as many felt that the rear end looks ugly. The Lamborghini Espada Frua Faena was nicely built and Pietro Frua hoped that it could be produced in small quantities, but the show car was the only one ever produced. Shortly after the 1980 Geneva Auto Show, the car was sold to a Lamborghini dealer in Basel, Switzerland. And it was later sold to a German car collector. The German collector still owns it today but the car remains registered in Switzerland. Photo credit: Net Car Show and Wikipedia
  6. At the 2012 Paris Motor Show, Lamborghini presented its most successful super sports car with a facelifted design. Lamborghini has given one more facelift before the all-new replacement arrives. Lamborghini presents the new Gallardo LP 560-4 and the LP 570-4 Edizione Tecnica at the Paris Motor Show. The new Gallardo LP 560-4 has a cosmetic upgrade while the Superleggera and the Spyder Performante, will be now renamed and offered as the Edizione Tecnica. The refreshed Gallardo models will be available at Lamborghini dealerships starting November 2012, while the rear wheel driven LP 550-2 'Valentino Balboni' Coupe and Spyder remain. The new Gallardo LP560-4 The new Gallardo LP 560-4 looks broader and more dominating, courtesy of a mathematical friendly triangle and trapezoid design language. Larger air intakes have been created ahead of the front wheels and the new 19-inch 'Apollo polished' alloy wheels, painted in matt black and featuring precision-machined spokes in polished silver. The air outlet for the powertrain in the rear has a wider surface area, to improve thermodynamic efficiency. The new Gallardo LP570-4 Edizione Tecnica Features of the Edizione Tecnica include the fixed rear wing, carbon-ceramic brakes that Lamborghini claims to combine low weight with remarkable fade resistance and durability. The power to weight ratio of the Edizione Tecnica is now an outstanding 2.35 kg/bhp. The Edizione Tecnica will be finished in exclusive colours where the entire roof arch and front air intakes are painted in a contrasting colour. The available shades are: - Nero Nemesis (matt black) body with Arancio Argos (orange) pillars and front air intakes - Bianco Canopus (matt white) body with Arancio Argos pillars and front air intakes - Arancio Argos body with Nero Nemesis pillars and front air intakes
  7. The Lamborghini Reventon and its Roadster counterpart is truly an iconic and head turning vehicle that no-doubt has influenced the current styling language, like the current flagship the Aventador, Aventador J and the Sesto Elemento. Ondrej Jirec, a final year Transport Design student at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California has taken Lambo's lead for a concept vehicle that has styling inspired by military aviation. Dubbed the Lamborghini Perdigon, it is named after a famous fighting bull from 1894, and its head is currently on display at the plaza Museum in Madrid. From the concept images, the Perdigon seems to be a Sesto Elemento replacement of sorts, utilising striking design with lightweight construction. The sharply styled concept's body language is inspired by the F117 Nighthawk and F22 Raptor jet fighters. A large air intake with a fan can be seen at the front, though no idea what purpose it serves, it feel reminiscent of the Batmobile from the Tim Burton directed movies. The interior looks in-line with current concepts, and looks minimal with little distraction for the driver. The orange, white and black colour layout looks interesting and simple, with a nice slice of sportiness delivered.
  8. [extract] Lamborghini has made their latest bull, the Aventador, more environmentally friendly by incorporating start/stop function and cylinder deactivation technology into the 2013 MY LP 700-4. Hence, the revised Aventador is akin to a plate of Char Kway Teow prepared with healthier oil

  11. [extract] Many manufacturing companies realised that the most effective way to leverage niche talent is to establish a team in the heart of the segment. From video game makers to chocolatiers, companies relocate their offices to seek specific talents and also to have a better local feel. Automakers do the same thing too. Southern California is known for its fanatical car culture and the place has become like a capital city for automakers seeking a better taste of the region

  14. Lamborghini has been seeing great profits with popularity from models like the refreshed Gallardo and its many variants, its latest flagship the "A vent and a door" and increasing demand from upcoming markets like China, Russia, India. Heck even in our 'puny' sunny tropics, all 60 units allocated to Lamborghini Singapore have already been taken up until the third quarter of 2012. So what lies ahead for the raging bull? We look into the e-crystal ball and here's our findings. Aventador A topless Aventador, the Aventador Roadster is expected to debut at the Detroit auto show in January, featuring a targa top, that will be easier to use than the Murcielago

  17. The Lamborghini Urus SUV concept debuted at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show with much anticipation and the car proved to be a big hit for the Italian automaker. The concept garnered much attention from all corners of the automotive industry; from enthusiasts up to rival auto companies. Lamborghini has mentioned that the car is pretty much on track for production but anyone who is interested in it has to wait until 2017, at the earliest. The reason for the delay is because the company has set some ambitious targets and this was revealed by Lamborghini
  18. The Toro project by DMC adds a little more power along with a new, lightweight styling kit that adds on to the already aggressive looks and performance of the Gallardo. DMC has worked on an ECU remap complemented by a new titanium sports exhaust system. These changes are good for an added 20hp for a total output of 580hp and 574Nm of torque from the 5.2-litre V10 engine. Top speed has also increased to 329km/h. The bodykit from DMC is purely made from carbon fiber. It includes a front spoiler and sword, side sills and skirts with side under diffuser, rear diffuser, rear spoiler and rear panel and side mirrors. The extensive DMC carbon fiber bodykit also includes "more attractive rounded sills" on the interior of the sides. It sits on a set of lightweight 20-inch forged rims. Pic Source: DMC Auto
