  1. Reminder to all driver of the bus lane hours. (:
  2. just now about 6.30pm, was driving along Jalan Bahar................2 lane road, jam pack, one YOG Bus on the right with his color head light on, majiam asking the long Q in front to give way, some did try to move to the left, many don't care................ I was on the left, as I pass the bus and move forward, I saw another YOG bus on the left lane and there was another Bus on the right lane (not sure if this is another YOG Bus, Because I turn left liao, but looks like it is), why are the YOG Buses on different lane, so give way to which Bus, give way to the right, left also have, give way to the left, right also have..................... Some more the bus has this irritating light like the knight rider in front, asking ppl to give way............................... so which lane?????? which lane leh???????
  3. Drivers choose giving way on Youth Olympic Lanes over fines The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has said no fines have been issued to drivers not giving way on the Youth Olympic Lanes, a week after the scheme hit the roads. The give-way lanes have been designated along seven expressways and 15 arterial roads, which are the key routes between YOG venues. This will help to ensure athletes and officials get to their venues on time. Going by the footage taken on board a Youth Olympic Games bus, motorists have been giving way to Games vehicles on the "Give Way" lanes. "I think the YOG doesn't happen daily. So it's one of the social calls, I'm willing to do it," said one motorist. Another said: "They've got to start the game on time, right? So they need to be on time." LTA spokesman Chuai Chip Tiong said LTA is happy that no fines have been issued so far. "This observation is exactly what we have been hoping for - Singaporeans graciously giving way, rather than to consider the fines. I'm happy to report that we have not issued any fines," he said. Motorists who fail to give way can be fined up to S$130. Unlike other Olympic Games host cities that set aside exclusive lanes for official vehicles, Singapore has adopted the give-way approach. The scheme ends on August 26.
  4. i'm all for giving way to yog vehicles on the selected 2nd lanes on the roads, but how the hell we know it is a yog car or bus by looking at the rear-view mirror?
  5. Well... give way for YOG started on Aug 5. Has anyone received any prize/penalty for giving way/not giving way, respectively? Just curious about the effectiveness of the YOG Lane.
  6. If somehow there is space, is it against the law to travel two cars in one single lane? Anyone kena caught for travelling on the eway road shoulder with about only 1/4 of the car body eating into the road shoulder? Encountered these during heavy jams..
  7. Some old movies screened at closed and forgotten cinemas. See how many have you watched there. I have watched movies at Changi, bedok, liwagu, hollywood, happy cinemas.
  8. Locals: Foreign Legion: Thanks for the memories
  9. Do you give way on Lane 1 if already at speed limit? Please state your arguments in logical order. Flame posts by speedsters not allowed. Note: This is only for constructive posts stating your arguments whether to give way or not and why.
  10. Hi All, Looking for solution of a problem, enough of complaining. Yesterday, I went over to the West and took AYE back home. I was on Lane 1, right most lane, overtaking the slower vehicles on the middle lane. From my rear view mirror, i could see a big good vehicle (those with big freezer) veered onto the right most lane going "at least 90km/h" straight on my back. Two thoughts flashed my mind: 1) wtf is a lorry (suppose to be 50 or 60km/h max) doing on the right most lane on an expressway. 2) Is there an urgent delivery of the frozen chicken on the truck? (I like KFC ) I purposely slowed down to the legal speed of this vehicle around 65km/h on the right lane and blocked his overtaking stunt. He tailgated me and went on to middle lane when there is no vehicle. He intended to overtake me on the right most lane but I managed to speed up to block his attempt. Yes, its evil of me, but in my mind, such vehicles going onto the expressway right lane is getting way too common. Both dangerous and illegal. Any constructive suggestions to prevent drivers of such stunts?
  11. Please... you do not own the road.... if your driving is weak, the 1st lane doesn't deserve a driver like you. Speed limit is 90... what are you doing on the 1st lane at 70km/h on the 1st lane even in the rain???? You go even slower in the bends!!!!! When is raining in the bends... you can drop speed to 50km/h.... isn't it no difference from lane 2?? To Look good... let people admire your car or just so to be a kind soul to stop people from going faster than you? Like i said... if you are weak, move to the 2nd lane for beginner or weak drivers. We do not need your braking and your red tail lights to come on when you're in the 1st lane. If you say lane 2 and 3 is slow.... then I'll say to you... you are no better than lane 2 or 3. I have so much more to say.... maybe i'll save some for later....
  12. I have always wondered ever since I was studying in NUS many many years ago, these two roads is always jammed as they serve, NUS, Chinese high, Nayang, Poly, etc. Are they still jammed? why until now never put bus lane? In Stupid hdb towns they put in soooo many bus lane and jammed up the roads, like the entrance road to yishun, etc.

  17. My complain to LTA... hee hee... happy reading ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I would like to make known my disgrunt at the traffic situation this morning along Upper Serangoon Road (towards Woodsville Flyover before the ERP gantry Bendemeer Road). I set off early as usual so to avoid the rush hour jam and avoid ERP charges at the said gantry (I believe most motorist on the road at that point of time is like-minded with me). The moment we hit the stretch of road near Woodleigh MRT station, traffic start to come to a crawl. The usual 3 mins drive from that point to the ERP gantry became a 15 mins drive. Why? It was because 1 lane along Upper Serangoon Road (after Poton Pasir MRT) was closed. There were LTA cones placed along that road but no road diversion signs. Adding insult to injury, there wasn't a single worker on the closed road... ain't the lane closure supposed to mean so form of road works was supposed to be carried out? I would have taken a photo if I could. Perhaps you can go take a look now... mostly likely still no workers there. The clock showed 730am and the 4-lane road became 2 lanes, coz 1 lane was closed for god-know reasons and 1 lane became the bus lane. Due to the congestion, motorist like me who set off ealry ended up paying the ERP charges. So, is the LTA (or rather the main contractor) going to reimburse us the ERP charges? Most likely not right? But for courtesy sake, at least post the lane closure situation on one.motoring.com's traffic news. So that motorist can choose an alternate route.
  18. Normal weekdays, 9.40am bus lane is still very clear. Then today sunday, bus lane with red lines, also clear.
  19. wah... so can those car cam videos of motorcycles in Lane 1 be sent to TP as evidence??? Esp peak periods and lots of Johor bikers! Source: Asiaone
  20. spotted a light blue lancer(QY2*T) with "LTA" logo on the side of the doors driving on full day bus lane(red/yellow solid line)during office hours.most of the vehicles including me were on the 2nd lane from left waiting to reach the dotted line to enter the lane to make a left turn but was caught in a jam by this LTA car who was drivng pretty fast blocking our way. i know other government vehicles are not allow in bus lane unless they have blinker and siren ON. or only the LTA vehicles are allowed to do so?
  21. Hi bros, Just something to share with you guys, so please dun flame me. Was driving along Orchard Road 2 weeks back and was at the Centrepoint area (before the taxi stand). I was heading for the Centrepoint carpark and there was a jam in the lane next to the bus lane. It was only about 300m leading to the side road to the carpark and I was late for my appointment so I took a risk and ventured into the empty bus lane (red lane). 100 metres down the road, I saw a white ant with a camera hiding within the crowd. OMG! My first thought was to cut back in but I knew it was too late as it was obvious the ant had seen me. So guess what? I dropped gear and picked up speed and zoomed towards and past the ant. Think I caught the ant off guard and he swung around to catch a pic of my rear end. Seeing his reaction, I continued to accelerate into the distance. To date, no summon and keeping my fingers crossed.
