  2. UROLOGIST APPOINTMENT Sabbie went to his appointment with the urologist. In the examining room he told the doctor, 'Don't laugh!' 'Of course I won't laugh,' the doctor said. 'I'm a professional. In more than twenty years I've never laughed at a patient.' 'Okay then,' Sabbie said, and proceeded to drop his trousers, revealing the tiniest 'willie' the doctor had ever seen. It wasn't any bigger than a triple A battery. Unable to control himself, the doctor started giggling, then fell to the floor laughing hysterically. Ten minutes later he was able to struggle to his feet and regain his composure. ' I'm so sorry,' he said. 'I really am. I don't know what came over me. On my honor as a doctor and a gentleman, I promise it won't happen again. Now, what seems to be the problem?' 'It's swollen,' Sabbie replied.
  3. Today is annoying. I nearly hit a stranger... labelled A. I signalled right.... and going at around 60+km/hr. Person A wanted to jaywalk and happily assumed that I would stay in my lane, not knowing that I intend to filter right to enter a shopping centre carpark. HE walked into the right lane, just as i was filtering right (with signal on) it was a close shave as i have to swerve. i horned very loudly at him. This is Zion road, with 5 big lanes. and the shopping centre is Great World City. I nearly killed someone on NYE Happy New Year everyone!
  4. Can any bros share.. For me, i will be spending my time in Genting @ Resort Cafe, play arcade, eat again and watch fireworks, the day after 2morrow i iwll be leaving for SG
  5. Kana at car park. This morning notice a long scratch of around 15-20cm x 2cm wide on right corner of front bumper. I guess whoever is turning out of the lot or reversing in didn't judge properly and brush against my bumper. I guess its time to accumulate the scratches and then go for respray. That car is probably dark colour cause the paint marks are greyish in colour.
  6. After months of speculation, Daimler has reportedly decided to phase out Maybach. Citing high-ranking sources, Autocar is reporting Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche will axe the brand in order to focus more attention on Mercedes. As one insider commented, "We've come to the conclusion that it is better to cut our losses with Maybach than to continue into an uncertain future with a brand that has failed to live up to original sales expectations." If everything pans out, the last Maybachs will be built in early 2013. To fill the gap, Mercedes will reportedly offer a new S600 Pullman. Source: AutoCar

  8. The real question is how many PRs we have to date and what percentage of their children siam NS throughout and not only the last 5 years... From CNA: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1166966/1/.html 8,800 PRs served NS over last 5 years Posted: 22 November 2011 1500 hrs SINGAPORE: Over the last five years, about 8,800 males who had become permanent residents under the sponsorship of their parents were enlisted for and served National Service (NS). About 6,100 of them have taken up citizenship. Defence Minister Dr Ng Eng Hen gave the figures in a written reply to a parliamentary question from Nee Soon GRC MP, Dr Lim Wee Kiak. In that same period, about 4,200 males who had become permanent residents under the sponsorship of their parents renounced their PR status prior to serving National Service. Dr Ng said the failure of these permanent residents to serve NS will be taken into account when they subsequently apply to study or work in Singapore. These PRs were warned about the consequences of their action at the point of renunciation.
  9. thats quite alot There were 353 suicides last year and 401 in 2009. Foreigners accounted for 57 and 52 suicides in the respective years. These figures, based on data compiled by the Ministry of Home Affairs, were provided by Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean in a written reply to a question filed by Non-Constituency MP Lina Chiam. Mrs Chiam had wanted to know the number of suicides committed by foreigners and Singaporeans here and "the probable causes of suicides among the foreigners". Mr Teo, who is also Home Affairs Minister, said: "We do not know the exact reasons why these foreigners choose to commit suicide." http://www.todayonline.com/Singapore/Singa...-last-year--MHA

  11. Hi dear forumers, I would appreciate whatever advice there is. Thanks in advance!! I was involved in a chain accident, which I am the last car out of 3 cars. What happened is that I rear-ended a Swift when we were moving slowly (around less than 20km/h) along ECP towards east side. The Swift's rear door was dented in, but there was not much damage to my car except for a slightly folded bonnet and cracked bumper. In front of this Swift was a Lancer, which had the rear bumper dented as well. It is not clear who banged into who first, but I was quite sure I had kept a safety distance from the Swift. The thing is, after I reported my accident to my insurance company, and wanted to claim from my company, it took them 7 days from the day I reported to check on my Driving License Date, and voided my insurance 7 days later, stating that I did not satisfy one of their criteria (minimum 2 years driving experience). Problem is, when I purchased their policy, there was no way I could enter my Driving License date! And now the Swift driver had her car repaired, and she tells me that I have to pay for the damage for the Lancer as well. And the damages are not cheap !!!! Amounting to $8000+++ including the rental fee of $120 per day. My questions are: 1. Can Fidrec help to at least ask my previous insurance company to honor at least partial of the claims? My insurance company is D*****A*** 2. Do I really have to pay for the damages to the Lancer? I found this BOLA from GIA link (see page 9) but I'm not sure since my insurance has been voided effectively during the accident. Anyone else in a similar position but still escaped paying for the first car's damages? 3. Is there any way to settle the charges with workshop without seeking approval from the Swift driver? She doesn't seem willing to let me settle with them. Any help rendered is greatly appreciated!!

  13. Its had been a nightmare for the past 4+ years driving up and down CTE daily ....... The Central Expressway had been widen to 4 lanes and the last of the barricades had been removed for a smooth flow of traffics both ways. Some barreicades were left just above Braddell Road flyover to prevent vehicles turning into another slip road leading to 'don't know where' (still a puzzle to me) as the side road cuts into some Potong Pasir area & St Andrew's Boys Sec to PIE. But these barricades does not hinder the smooth flow of traffic. With the widening of CTE, traffic still heavy during peak hours ...

  17. more than 6 years ago, the Singapore identity was still very strong it has since eroded at speed i couldn't have imagined there was a time i felt proud of being a Singaporean, with our relatively low crime rates and high standard of living... now i feel nothing there was a time i got emotional listening and singing to the tune of "count on me singapore", "stand up for singapore", "home", etc... the songs are still nice to hear, but somehow the meanings are different to me now there was a time i got excited watching the national day parade on tv... these 3 years i have skipped watching it there was a time i felt a sense of responsibility when i was recalled to serve in-camp trainings... now i felt silly the success of IRs, record GDP, AAA rating in Asia... all these don't instill pride in me anymore... all i'm looking for is that familiar sense of belonging here the usage of new media like facebook, twitter, youtube to spread unflavourable news doesn't help, cos they can only make me feel angry or disgusted... the PRC joker saga, the curry saga, the pinoy and mr gay saga... when will all these end?

  19. Some bros might have taken their last ride... When i heard the last train will run on 30 June, i quickly bought the ticket and took it to JB this afternoon.... i must say the trip and $13 (sin2Jb) and 3Ringgits (JB2sin) were well worth the time. The TPagar station was packed with people, mm and men took their long lens to take pictures everywhere and every corners.... The scenary during the trip, though normal to many, to me it's interesting as the train went pass bushes, industrial estates, HDB, landed properties... schools, under the tunnels, over the bridges... By now, most passengers were there to taste their 'last trip' on this train.... when the train passed road junctions, passersby waved and took picture (making us passengers a bit like VIPs)... The train even stopped at the bukit timah station for about half an hour (not in its usual schedule) to let passengers get down to take pics.... passengers also took pics of visitors at the station who in turn took picture of the train and its passengers............. i jumped off the train and stood on the station platform to take pics also... BTW, i found something could be the only one in the world:- normally if we go from country A to B, we go through the respective immigration/custom checks in the same order/sequence. But when I went from SGP to JB, i first cleared MY check points and then SGP check points, ie reversed order!!
  20. 90% of them don't make police report??? ---- 24 women raped last year: Aware AsiaOne Tue, Jun 07, 2011 Tweet SINGAPORE - TWENTY-FOUR women said that they were raped last year, and about 20 of these women said they allowed their attackers to escape scot-free. This is according to women's advocacy group, Aware. The group also said that they get an average of 20 such cases on their hotline a year. Chinese evening daily Lianhe Wanbao reported that some of the women had sought help from Aware after they were sexually assaulted within three days of the attack, and the reasons they did not report about the attacks immediately included feeling afraid, feeling ashamed or even blaming themselves. One of the victims only revealed her predicament 10 years after she was assaulted. Aware's executive director Corinna Lim said that of the 24 women who called its hotline last year, a majority were encouraged to do so by their boyfriends or husbands. The women often cited friends or relatives, and colleagues or men they went out on dates with as their attackers. A few were assaulted by their husbands. Some of them were attacked after they had been drinking. Some of the women only called Aware's hotline three days after their attack. About 90 per cent of the women did not make a police report. The victims often said they were confused, lost sleep over the matter, and could not remember details of their attack. Some even became depressed. Ms Lim told Lianhe Wanbao: "If the women who were assaulted do not seek help, it will be very difficult for them to move on. We even had one caller who was attacked 10 years ago." To help these women who feel at a loss after being sexually assaulted, Aware has set up the Sexual Assault Befrienders Service, or SABS, to offer assistance to victims. If you wish to contact Aware at the SABS hotline, you can do so at from Mondays to Fridays at the following telephone numbers: 6779 7137, from 10am to 3pm, or 1800-7745935, from 3pm to 9.30pm.

  23. A lot of people are first time voters which is pretty much an unknown. Some are diehards, some are not. Maybe a good way to measure PAP is by the vote swing. If you previously voted for PAP but now decided to cast your vote the other way, check it. If you previously voted for any Opposition and regretted it and voted PAP this time, check it. If this is the first time you're voting due to previous walkovers, recent coming of age, etc., this poll is not for you. :p
