  1. On the morning of 6th December 2009, i had drove in a Shell petrol station(Marsilling) to pump in some gas before going to the market. Was surprised to see all pumps occupied as normally it would be almost deserted(staying nearby so quite familiar). Initially i waited cos was fooling with my son in the car. But suddenly noticed after awhile that a car was parked in between the pumps. Still waited cos all the other pumps were occupied. I thought maybe the driver made a dash for payments or something. After about 5-10mins the driver came back to her car, walking as slowly as anybody would at the beach . I rolled down the window, said HI! & said could u pls move along as i need to pump too. She didn't even acknowledged or said sorry, then purposely start the car late & check mirror & s--t like that. So i gave a light tap horn. Then she looked at the rear mirror & gave that "WHAT" look. After that hell broke loose. I got out of the car, went to the front scream at her to get lost. Pump attendants came ask her to move along. End of story, opps not yet. there was also another car left in between pumps at the other end of the station . Both drivers of same race, not related but different gender. OMG...!!!! Why do we have these kind of idiots in S'pore???? I wouldn't mind if she had left her car to one side of the pumps but in-between?! Guys, this is not a complaint but this might be my first encounter of such behaviors in S'pore & anywhere else, have u encountered similar episodes or is it a norm for some people. Could you guys also comment on what you might have done if you were in my situation. Thanks & drive safe, be courteous.
  2. ESPN Soccernet reported : Agent quashes Berbatov exit rumours Dimitar Berbatov's agent has moved to quash speculation that the Bulgarian striker will leave Manchester United this summer. Despite United's success in winning FIFA's World Club Cup, the Carling Cup and Premier League, defeat in the Champions League final meant the club's season ended on a sour note and with Berbatov failing to make an impact to match his club record
  3. saw this news on tv.Xabi reported to agree 22mil to real marid.
  4. it seems the world largest automobile manufacturer had enough of the high life of F1, and possibly the silly polictics that come along with it. it will be quite sad for them to depart from F1 as i do believe they may see some good results soon from Timo Glock. ---------- f1-live.com Clear signs are emerging that Toyota could be contemplating its future in Formula One. The Japanese giant, which entered the sport in 2002, was perhaps the most enraged among F1's manufacturer ranks at the proposal of a single engine formula. Even though that prospect has receded, Toyota Motorsport President John Howett recently admitted the move 'would be a reason' for the Cologne based team to quit F1. Now, in the pages of the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, it is suggested that Toyota sees returning to Le Mans-style prototype sports car racing as an alternative to F1 beyond 2010. At this year's Le Mans 24 hour race, for instance, a dozen un-uniformed Toyota engineers were present, armed with cameras and reportedly sizing up the current competitors. Additionally, at the American Le Mans Series race in Detroit in August, Toyota officials met with representatives of the series' organising Toyo body ACO. "We would like to go back to Le Mans," Toyota's F1 team boss Tadashi Yamashina confirms. "The final decision is budgetary. "Under the present economic conditions, it is unlikely that we could do Formula One and Le Mans in a parallel fashion," he explained.
  5. Are you guys aware of this? If someone spot that you leave ur car engine idle, and u left ur car for some time, they can actually submit ur car plate, location etc to NEA and you can be fined... champion.
  6. Yesterday I was listening to Rod's Married Men show and they were talking about how this Friday is their last show. Is that true or did I hear wrong? Are they trying to "pluck" listeners again?
  7. This might be the next trend after recent cash card stolen cases : www.katu.com/r?19=950&32=3226&7=109991&40=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.katu.com%2Fhome%2Fvideo%2F15546217.html%3Fvideo%3DYHI%26t%3Da&41=Video+GPS+units+a+hot+item+-+for+thieves&18=0.19370652902813024
  8. Any bros have left their cars unused for 3-6 mths or even longer? Do I need to get someone to drive it around every month? or is it ok to just leave the car alone for such a long period? Anything I should lookout for? also, possible not to renew road tax during this period, while still maintaining insurance and parking charges? Please advise. Thanks.
  9. Does leaving key in the ignition in the off position for long periods drain the battery? this happened to my friend who lives in landed home and i wonder its due to that.
  10. I heard that if one goes away for long periods (a few weeks/months) and leaving the car un-driven, the car should not be left entirely alone. The car needs to be started up occasionally to prevent problems. Anyone knows the reason? This is old school but is this really necessary to start the engine occasionally, especially modern cars?
  11. lifted off from ST online today: kudos to Caltex IMAGINE getting your family saloon washed for under a dollar or your seven-seater MPV for $2.80, when car washers at petrol stations charge about $6. Car owners thought they were on to a good thing when an independent car-wash and servicing company at a Caltex petrol station sold them stacks of 50 or 100 car-wash coupons, each redeemable for a car wash at less than a dollar for a family saloon. Fifty dollars bought 56 coupons. But L.K.W. Automotive Service suddenly closed shop at the Upper Thomson Caltex petrol station three weeks ago, leaving its customers stranded with unused coupons - and wondering how to get their money back. The company started selling the pre-paid car-wash coupons in the middle of last year. It also gave out windscreen stickers to customers to signify their membership in the 'club', and was still promoting the membership deal up to the week before it closed shop. Business boomed. Straits Times reader Stella Ong, 32, said that a queue of at least 10 cars snaked out of L.K.W. on weekends; in the Sin Ming Avenue estate where she lives, one in two cars had the sticker. As one among many car owners left in the lurch, she sent a text message to Stomp, ST's interactive portal, at 75557 with the news tip. A car-wash package deal and membership is unusual. A check with 10 car-wash companies operating out of petrol stations showed that all of them had a pay-as- you-go payment plan, or let motorists use the points from their petrol station cards for car washes. Chevron, Caltex's parent company, said it objected to the coupons because they bore no expiry dates, which put the customer at risk if L.K.W. should suddenly fold, said a Chevron spokesman. The company told L.K.W.'s sole proprietor Loh Kiam Wei eight times to print expiry dates on the coupons, but he ignored the request. Mr Loh was served a notice of termination on June 17, after which he had 60 days to wind up his business. Chevron had hoped he would use the 60 days to give customers time to use their coupons, but he closed shop the morning he got the notice and has not reopened since. Mr Loh could not be contacted for comment before press time. Those affected can now contact Chevron at [email protected] to register their details and the number of coupons they have left. A refund plan will be worked out. Said the Chevron spokesman: 'Legally, Chevron bears no responsibility in connection with L.K.W.'s services because it is an independent operator, but we will not leave customers stranded.'
  12. I wonder how many of us have encountered (especially in shopping centre carparks) drivers leaving their vehicles in a position which would cause inconvenience to other drivers just to run off to top up their cashcard or even run some last-minute errands. In the attachment below, the driver stopped his car to top up cashcard at the machine in the corner. This is not too bad. Last year at Bedok central, at the taxi stand in front of KFC (along New Upper Changi Road), I encountered a Merc driver who parked his car at the exit of the taxi bay and ran off to queue at the ATM machines outside DBS bank about 40 metres away, causing a queue of taxis forming up, all waiting to exit via that taxi bay. Anyone else had similar experience? Funan_s.wmv
  13. Anyone, will there be a problem with the car, if i turn the key to ON for extended period, say, 30min?
