  1. Hi all, am new to this site. Is there anyone here whom have contacts to purchase left hand drive cars? Commission will be split accordingly.
  2. Tyres size 205/60r16. where to find cheap replacements since car scraping in 6mth time. 2nd tyres in Sg or JB cheaper?
  3. By right commercial vehicle not suppose to enter JB, unless got wadever licence or road tax. Was thinking could i drive my company kangoo into JB? using the by left way. Anyone had tried driving commercial in and manage to siam the authorities, or what will be the consequence if i kana booked? If i not wrong, diesel vehcile not affected by the 3/4 tank rule, so i can go in empty tank to pump.
  4. Okay, even if we do have 53.3 years of oil left in the world, we could actually console ourselves considering this year's estimate is a good 1.1 percent improvement over last year's estimation. Fret not, I am not mad because the yearly estimates are pretty inaccurate actually, considering that the 44.2 billion barrels of oil that USA has in reserve is a 26 percent increase over older estimates. Fortunately for the petrolheads, it is very likely we won't be running out of fuel yet because according to USA Today, new technology such as horizontal drilling into an oil shale is likely to help unlock an additional 75 billion barrels from the shale formations in the Permian Basin of Texas. And great news, there are quite a few other shale oil operations in the United States that have potentially even more oil. So it is not as bad then. Very glad combustion engines still have many more years left in them!
  5. Sad to hear this... my daughter posted on my Facebook asking if I remember buying a tin of milo form her, honestly I could not. I need to to more for society instead of lamenting about my own current status. Heavy heart. Does anyone know where her Funeral is being held? I wanna do my part, small but something. God be with her all the way. http://singapore.coconuts.co/2014/06/11/auntie-cineleisure-passed-away-morning
  6. I was reading TRS when i noticed that Lee holds his chopsticks with his left hands.. I always thought that it was customary to use the right hand for the chopsticks... but the way he holds it looks very unnatural is he trying to rub shoulders with MY's PM? or trying to create a space between them? is there any political meaning to this posture? if he used his right hand then he has to stand behind Najib.. a picture tell a thousand words. i think that he switched to the left to distance himself from najib, notice the gap between them. think this reflects the politics?
  7. May I know why some drivers only like to filter in near the end of the filter lane when doing these turns? traffic condition is normal and is not like they are doing a last min switch also. For U-turns at those non traffic light junctions for example, they like to do this stunt with their vehicle body still at the centre of the filter line right at the turn, which will therefore cause obstruction to vehicles behind that are going straight on that fast lane, sometimes have to jam brake if they never siginal their intention. Issit for easier turning? but the opposite direction is a 3 or 4 lanes road, even a big lorry can do the u-turn with their whole vehicle body inside the filter lane
  8. Left in the lurch after traffic accident Published on Feb 07, 2014 ABOUT one-and-a-half years ago, my husband's car was hit by another car coming out of a side road. The other driver was apologetic and admitted culpability in writing. We duly made a report to our insurance company and had our vehicle repaired. However, we later discovered that the other driver had not reported the accident to his insurer, NTUC Income. As a result, we were unable to proceed to claim from his insurance. Recently, the workshop told us that NTUC Income had denied our claim and repudiated all liability, as the other driver did not make a report. This was despite the evidence - the signed letter from the driver admitting his fault, and footage from our car video camera. The General Insurance Association told me my only recourse was to sue the other driver. Despite doing everything by the book, we now find ourselves facing the possibility of having to pay for repairs resulting from an accident caused by someone else, with no other recourse except to pursue a potentially costly civil lawsuit against him. Is it ethical and legal for insurers to simply deny claims and repudiate liability just because the client did not make a report? Can the Traffic Police or other relevant authorities comment on this? 9. Extracted from another forum... Hi everyone, I’m a 20-year-old Atheist and former Muslim from Singapore. I’ll be withholding my real name to protect my identity. Like many other Muslims, I was raised while being taught Islamic values and attended Madrasah/Sunday school until I was 16. I didn’t wear a hijab/tudung or pray daily but I claimed I was proud to be a Muslim. I defended Islam online whenever it was under attack and ignored all the supposed evils of Islam brought up by people I debated. I looked down on people who left Islam and judged them for it. Now that I think about it, I was blinded by my love for the religion and I did not realise it. I first started questioning Islam and religion not long after I stopped attending Madrasah. I did not want to be a Muslim simply because Mummy told me so and because it just so happened I was born into Islam. I was at the age where most teens think about their place in life. I thought about my purpose. I read books on Philosophy which had chapters on God and the logical impossibility of his existence. The road to my apostasy was a slow process. I was a self-professed Agnostic for several years. I questioned Islam and religion in general, but I never outright denied the existence of the Muslim God. Looking back, I now see that I was too afraid to leave the religion. I believed in God just in case, as in Pascal’s wager. I didn’t realise back then that I had a 1 in 3000 chance of believing in the right God. After all, who’s to say Zeus doesn’t exist? Or Yahweh? How can Muslims know for sure that Allah is the one true God? murtad2 I had an irrational fear that something horrible would happen to me once I apostatised. I blame Islam for this – from a very young age, Muslims are ingrained with the fear of Hell, the fear of a vengeful God and the idea that apostasy is unthinkable (God forbid!). That’s Islam for you, using fear as a tool to ensure submission. I eventually realised the concept of God is logically flawed. I read The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins, whom I now look up to. I questioned further when I read the following Epicurus quote: “Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?” I also love using this argument as believers cannot answer it: If God is as great and merciful, then why does he condemn thinking men and women who question his existence to Hell for eternity (according to the Bible, Quran and Torah, etc)? Why are they condemned just for not bowing down to him, even those who were morally upright in their lifetimes? Is he that petty and narcissistic? 6d545-budak-melayu-murtad The way I see it, if a God really does exist and if he’s everything people claim him to be, I have nothing to worry about. He would recognise that I am not a bad person despite the many mistakes I have committed. Today, I consider myself an Atheist and a Humanist. For those who are unaware, I quote: “Humanism is a progressive philosophy of life that, without supernaturalism, affirms our ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfillment that aspire to the greater good of humanity.” I also started to have issues with Islam. One of the things I don’t like about Islam is its treatment of women. Justify it all you want (just as I did back when I believed) but it degrades women. For example, I don’t agree with women having to cover themselves up and take the blame for inciting lust in men. When I was 19, I finally declared my Atheism and apostasy. I’m happier now that I no longer have a fear of God and Hell and I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I don’t live to please God anymore. Basically, to me that’s all there is to it – we live then we die, so we might as well make the most of it. As of today, I strive to be a good person. You don’t have to believe in God to be morally upright. I knew I no longer had a reason to be afraid. Unfortunately, I remain in the closet. It’s especially difficult being an ex-Muslim Atheist. I doubt my family would be very happy to hear the news when I tell them in the future. To those of you who believe, do take a moment to question all you have been told. Do not have blind faith. I wish you all the best. Source: http://bit.ly/1fBtpFe

  14. Post date: 1 Jul 2013 - 9:09am [This is a satire article from Newnation.sg] Singaporean men from all walks of life who have served National Service are worried that PAP MPs Janil Puthucheary and Zainudin Nordin are feeling left out. This is because these two PAP MPs did not serve NS and today is SAF Day, a day where men who have served NS feel somewhat proud that they did and share photos of themselves on Facebook. One proud Singaporean son who spent two years of his life wearing leaves and eating combat ration, Kee Zho Peng, said:
  15. From ST Forum: http://www.straitstimes.com/premium/forum-...-claim-20130325 Left in the lurch over car insurance claim Published on Mar 25, 2013 LAST July, my car was hit from behind by another car. I reported the accident to the insurance firm-designated workshop, thinking I could go ahead with the repairs. However, half a year passed with no progress. The workshop said the insurance company was sitting on the claim. When I called the insurance company, it said the other driver never reported the incident, so it could not proceed with the claim. I made a police report but the police said they would not take action as there was no injury. I later found out that the other driver and I had policies under the same insurance company. Is this the way an insurance company acts on claims? Is there a loophole somewhere? My car was damaged but I cannot receive compensation even though it was not my fault. The insurance company asked me to claim on my own insurance or go to a lawyer, for which I would have to cough out more money. I am at my wits' end. Wendy Ang Kweng Gee (Ms)
  16. Hi all I was on a main road 4 lane and speed 60 to 70 km. Along this road there are various left turns to their respective condos. I was trailing behind this white Audi and he did not signal and jam brake at his speed of 70km then turned to his condo. Am I supposed to stop and anticipate cars turning left in front of me for every turn and every condo property? Good thing I was alert and also jam brake in time. But signalling is very impt especially you are High speed no one expect you to turn left Any feedback guys
  17. Hi Folks Need some expert advice from the folks here. My car is still steering slightly to the left even after absorbers were changed (front & back), alignment done (2X! once by outside workshop, another by agent!) & tyres rotated (no faults found) & drive shaft no issues (as verified by agent). The last alignment done by the agent did help the pulling a bit. It used to pull strongly to the left, especially in slow speeds. Now its not so bad, but if I take my hands off the steering, you'll see the wheel slowly turning by itself to the left. Any other ideas where else to check? Am driving a Scooby LGT. Cheers!
  18. Hi Guys. The outside of my front left tyre is badly worn as compared To the rest of the tyres. The inside is ok. Just the outside is really worn. Any ideas on what might be the problem? Thanks!!
  19. Folks, My E200 Kompressor driver's electric seat turn left when adjusting forward / backward, culd it be the cable' roller jammed or the motor faulty . . . Sent my car in for a quote, mechanic dismantled and say the whole motor mechanism is faulty, it comes in a package, damage is approx $1K, while a second opinion say could be the cable faulty only $100+, but he ask'd me to come back next week as he was busy with some work ( No dismantling done ). I was thinking of going back to C&C for their expert opinion. Any MCF brothers have similar issue ? Appreciate your input / feedback. Thanks a heap !
