  1. just came back from the A&E. Had a bad accident and would like to seek some good advise of what i should do. what happen was around 1am.. was waiting for the opp. traffic to clear before i could make a right turn into my carpark. for no reason, saw a beam of light and lucky i hit my brake hard or my ride would be flung away. a trans cab speeding fast and hit my left rear. the collision send me flying to hit the steering wheel with my head. went blank for a while, open door and fainted. cab driver lifted me, can't remember much what he was saying also.. saw my left rear wheel came out. in short, the car seems only to have 3 wheels and everything was in such mess. complained of neck pain, rested on the floor. many people come talking to me, saying my ride need to be toll as it cannot move and stuff.. can't recall much then workshop and some 3rd party claim was made known to me. if i not wrong, someone from the passing-by told me to rest well while they will recover the car and do the necessary claim ambulance and police came, the next moment i was in A&E. TP called and ask for how many days of mc and stuff. was supposed to be warded but don't wanted to. was given 6 days of mc and told by the TP i need to make a report on coming monday. wallet was found with a handphone number. sorry, can't remember much as everything was in a flash and mind wasn't right.. if i not wrong, i am suppose to call the number later when i wake up. think to report or do whatever claim, believe this number should be from some workshop. would like to ask what i ought to do? for such accident, should i send my ride back to OEM? (wheel almost came out) sad.. rim is dented, rear is goner, color also out. pls advise

  4. The Brackley based team used a motor home usually seen in the DTM paddocks in Spain, while the new structure was being put together for the first time in the Principality. The three-storey structure resembles a glass-fronted office building and can be seen on the team's official Twitter site. German reports say the motor home has been made at a cost of less than 2 million euros, compared with the EUR15m cost of Red Bull's Energy Station. While Mercedes and Red Bull's motor homes were already in Monaco, the first motor home to arrive from Spain on Monday morning was Renault's. Reportedly, the Enstone based team bought the motor home operated last year by the departed Toyota. McLaren's so-called Brand Centre takes longer to disassemble, and as of late on Monday it had not arrived in Monaco. Source: GMM

  10. Had been driving for the past 3 days and gone were those speeding lorries along Jalan Buroh driven by bangala ...... Received information from friend that MOM is going after those bangala drivers who had been employed as construction workers but also double up as drivers......... MOM officers are stationing themselves outside quarters to do spot checks on bangala drivers coming out with workers (one of those quarters at Soon Lee Road). My friend now is shortage of 1 driver as his driver refuse to drive unless he is converted from construction worker to company driver.

  13. Insight Down South By Seah Chiang Nee EDUCATED and financially independent, the new Singaporean woman is running into a wall of male traditions that is leaving some holes in their relationship, including marriage. The trend had been building up over a couple of decades. In few other countries have women made larger strides in education and careers than in Singapore. During the past few decades they have caught up with, and even overtaken, men in fields they had once dominated. In university, women still outnumber men 55-45 with many moving strongly into subjects like media, mathematics, law and engineering, among others. Recently girls won seven of the top 11 awards for A-level Physics, which had long been a boys
  14. I love Zero Coke where the artificial sugar is used to maintain the sweetness of the soft drinks. I can understand the tetra-pack drinks like soya bean, Barley, Winter Melon where 'Less Sweet' is logical since we drink the packet directly. But when it comes to syrup mix cordial like Ribena......What the heck is "Less Sweet" useful for? I mean if one want "less sweet", then all one need is to pour less syrup!! Simple! My friend was telling me....if I pour less syrup, then the color will also be less deep....it will not look nice! Can anyone explain the marketing rational behind this "Less Sweet" Ribena???
  15. Specifically referring to non financial industry employees, is it always true that as you move up (i am specifically referring to at least early 5 digit salaries) you work less. Personal observation seems to reveal so in my coy. But was wondering if its only unique here or apply elsewhere as well cos i got an offer. guess this will be an interesting thread for those in the midst of climbing the corporate ladder as well.
  16. Dear all, In the other thread .... I just got a 1.5TB harddisk. Now I need to format it .... I saw people that just do "Quick Format" on the harddisk and start using them. "Full Format" takes a long time. Heard that "Quick Format" is less reliable .... chances of harddisk data corruption is higher. Please advise.
  17. Has anyone manage to go Malaysia with their passport which has slightly less than 6 mths validity, for a 3 days 2 night trip? The Customs at SG or MY will check?

  19. For the same car model, we pay probably the highest price in the world yet with the barest minimum safety features. No. of airbags is reduced, things like BA are dropped. This is especially disturbing whenever I travel overseas when I see cars of half price compared to SG yet with better safety specs. Effectively we have to settle down with a lesser car for a higher price, no thanks to the ARF, excise duty and such. The government should really scrap the ARF and encourage/regulate agents to bring in the full-spec'ed cars. This way, the price of the car may remain roughly the same so there won't be much impact on the car population. Only thing is whether this revenue source can be covered by something else, say, higher ERP?
  20. MALAYSIA BOLEH Malaysia is making the correct move to reduce price in times of current recession..... http://www.soshiok.com/articles/11093 KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7, 2008: Enjoy your usual roti canai and teh tarik at lower prices from Monday. A number of restaurants across the country are responding to the government's call to reduce food prices although they claimed that the cost of raw materials was still burning holes in their pockets. Roti canai, which costs between 90 sen and RM1.20, and teh tarik, which costs RM1.20 to RM1.40 per glass, will be cheaper by 10 sen each. The Malaysian Muslim Restaurant Owners Association president Jamarul Khan Kader said the association agreed to join in the price cut campaign as a goodwill gesture to the government. "We hope other retailers would follow suit in efforts to help the people," he said when contacted by phone yesterday. The decision was made after a meeting with Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry officers yesterday. Jamarul said the association's counterpart, the Malaysian Indian Restaurant Owners Association, would also participate in the campaign. Roti canai, which costs between 90 sen and RM1.20, and teh tarik, which costs RM1.20 to RM1.40 per glass, will be cheaper by 10 sen each. Nasi kandar will go down by 20 sen per plate, depending on the accompanying dishes. However, not all the restaurants under these associations would lower their prices. "We will distribute pamphlets and put up bunting to invite other retailers to reduce prices. "The impact will be greater for consumers if all restaurants reduce their food prices," Jamarul said. The association has 2,600 members. About 200 shops in Klang Valley will take part in the campaign to be launched by Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad at Syed Bistro in Bangsar. Jamarul said some restaurant operators were sticking to the current food prices as the cost of wheat flour, noodles and even plastic bags had gone up. He said 1kg noodles cost RM2.40 compared with RM1.80 previously. "Dhal (chickpeas) now costs a whopping RM3 per kg compared with only 80 sen. "The price of plastics has gone up by 50 per cent since the fuel hike and has never come down." Malaysian Indian Restaurant Owners Association president Datuk R. Ramalingam Pillai said prices of raw materials used to make food had shot up by 30 per cent. Restoran Mutiara Anggerik owner R. Ravindran said most of the restaurants would only reduce their prices if the materials used became cheaper. "Consumers are saying that we should bring down food prices because of the recent drop in fuel prices. What they don't know is that wheat flour costs RM45 for a sack of 25kg. "The fuel price may have gone down but other things have not followed suit for us to reduce food prices."
