  1. Price even higher than BMW, and Mercedes but Under power, I heard from many owners and read some reviews Reliability not as good as it price, why?
  2. You can probably feel that Lexus is keen to shake off that monotonous image that it has been stuck with all these years, when its official promo video (below) for its new RC F Coupe has an attractive model starring in it. This sexy lady in question is none other than Lisalla Montenegro, who also happens to be a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. Not that the RC F coupe isn’t hot enough. With more than 450bhp and more than 520Nm of torque from its new 5.0-litre V8 engine, it is Lexus’s most powerful V8 engine ever produced. Expect a nice soundtrack coming out of its exhaust while blasting on towards its top speed of more than 250km/h. We can’t wait for it to do battle with its rival, the upcoming BMW M4. http://dai.ly/x1cv2xb And we thought the guys would want a few more photos of Lisalla Montenegro too...
  3. 4. The Lexus LFA has got to be one of the greatest car ever made - simply because of how technologically insane it was, but more significantly, how the V10 sounded like an early 90s F1 car. It has been over two years now that BMW and Toyota come to an agreement to work together and share technological resources to make a car that will set the pace for future cars. But ever since - there has been no work seen between the two automotive giants but recent rumours claim that the two companies are actually working on an LFA successor. With the intention on putting up against cars like the Porsche 918 Spyder and McLaren P1 - the aforementioned LFA successor will likely be a hybrid filled with lithium-ion batteries but don’t despair because that isn’t such a bad thing. Instead of looking at the hybrid system as an ecological way to save the environment, we prefer to look at it as a power boost to the engine, making it go even faster! We heard the Japanese also plan to drop BMW’s 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 into this supercar and tag it with Toyota’s hybrid system to create a combination made in heaven. No doubt - we can expect the successor to be flourished in excess of carbon fibre and lightweight materials everywhere, making it absolutely exotic! We can’t wait to see this coming along quickly and an addition to the list of hybrid hypercars on the road nowadays. Cross your fingers though, and hope that this car will not be as ridiculously expensive as the LFA.
  5. These days, the suited man looks naked without a tie bar, just like how substandard he will appear if he doesn't drive around Kuala Lumpur in a Lexus ES - with police escort, no less. The Lexus ES first saw the light of day in 1989 and has been around for six generations now. As disheartening as it may have been missing out on the fifth generation in Singapore (only available for left-hand drive countries), the latest ES doesn't seem like it's about to disappoint. There is a spanking new hybrid variant, too. The Lexus ES300h, as it's called, sports a 158bhp 2.5-litre twin cam Atkinson cycle petrol engine and a 105kW electric drive motor that's mated to an electronic continuously variable transmission (E-CVT). The petrol-powered ES250 is also available at launch. Exhibiting a 2.5-litre dual VVT-i engine under the bonnet, this variant is capable of 181bhp at 6,000rpm and 235Nm of torque at 4,100rpm. While it finishes the century sprint at a slightly slower 9.8 seconds, it has an impressive fuel economy of 12.7km/L on paper. Of course, like all Lexus, the hand-stitched finish on the dashboard of the ES is just one example of the high levels of luxury and quality evident in the car. Whether or not it's down to hardcore training and testing to achieve this perfection, one thing is for sure - the ES is all about absolute comfort and luxury.
  6. reached our shore already, whats ur take bros? http://www.lexus.com.sg/models/LS/LS-460/index.html
  7. All Bought a lexus rx400 recently. Many issues with knocking sound from the steering column when turning left especially when road is a bit uneven. Sent to a few workshop recommended by the 2nd hand car dealer but all could not diagnose the issue. They claimed they could not hear or feel the knocking sound but went ahead to tightened everything. Problem is i can hear or feel it everytime i drove the car. My wife who is not mechanically inclined also can feel/hear it. so, i need help from bros/sis on this forum who may have encounter similar issues to help me diagnose the issue OR recommend me a good workshop that may be able help me (other than lexus) BTW, i bought from Turf City. Never trust those guys again. ..my car still stinks from cig smell. All empty promises from dealer to help remove it. Quite embarassing to hear remarks of ...Your car reeks of cig smell...from my friends

  9. Dear bros, my 2007 GS300's touchscreen is faulty as I cannot press any buttons on the screen now. Would anyone know where I can fix it without going back to Borneo? I prefer not to go back to Borneo because it will be expensive and the car will last me another 3 years only. Kam siah to all.
  10. The Shibetsu Proving Ground (SPG) in Japan is the birthplace of the original Lexus LS 400 and has been the top secret test track for new Lexus models. Recently, Lexus offered an inside look at it. The SPG opened in 1984 after six years of planning and building. Rumour has it that the scale of the construction was so large, the Soviets mistook it for a fort being created by the Japanese. Imagine the Soviets mobilising their troops..right.. Hidden behind heavy security and tall metal fences are five circuits, each varying in size and function. The longest of these is about 10 kilometres. The tracks are surrounded with tiny villages of buildings and facilities, used to assess and maintain all kinds of vehicles, ranging from production cars to highly confidential prototype models. A high speed circuit on home soil didn't take long to bear fruit for Lexus. Firstly, the SPG helped reduce costs. It also sped up the research and development process, with the majority of testing now done in-house. When it came to the LS 400, the proving ground's biggest contribution was helping to forge superb aerodynamics and an exceptionally quiet cabin environment. More impressively, the engineers could analyse and perfect the vehicle's acceleration, movement and noise at speeds as fast as 250km/h - impossible on the shorter domestic courses previously used by Lexus. The four other circuits at Shibetsu also have their own special features - such as tree-lined country roads - to help put vehicles through their paces. To examine the effects of certain road conditions on Lexus vehicles, more than 20 road surfaces unique to different regions and countries around the world, such as the German autobahns, have been duplicated and installed on several sections of the courses at Shibetsu. We wonder if there's a mini Nurburgring in the SPG? Well all in all, SPG brims over with everything the Lexus automobile engineer - they call them takumi - needs to hone the vehicles. Is this Area 51 for Lexus? Or perhaps they have another Area 52 somewhere else? Whatever it is, this is a really rare glimpse and we hope to see more of these in the future, only if allowed of course. Photo Credits : Lexus International

  13. The BMW 3 Series has gone the force-fed way, leaving the Lexus IS perhaps as the only model in the premium compact segment that still uses naturally-aspirated propulsion. As the saying goes, it is better to be late than never. Toyota is said to offer its first turbocharged 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine in Lexus vehicles beginning late 2014 or early 2015. The new engine will debut in a new compact crossover called the NX 200t. The engine could possibly replace the 2.5-litre V6 as the entry level engine in the Lexus IS sedan lineup. It could also appear in other products such as the Toyota RAV4. The 2.0-litre turbo unit will likely surpass the 208bhp and 250Nm torque output of the naturally-aspirated 2.5-litre. By directing exhaust gas to rotate a turbine, which drives another turbine to pump fresh air into the combustion chambers at high pressure, a small capacity engine can deliver power comparable to an engine of much larger capacity.
  14. Lexus Singapore has updated its website to include details of the 2013 Lexus IS saloon. This signals the imminent launch of the all new Japanese sports sedan in the Lion City. According to the website, three variants will be available for sale. They include the IS250, IS250 F Sport and the IS Hybrid. The IS250 retails from $229,000 while the F Sport and Hybrid version is priced from $258,000 and $233,000 respectively. The relatively close selling price of the 'normal' and hybrid variant may see a rise in the number of buyers going for the environmentally-friendlier model. The IS250 and the F Sport are powered by a 2.5-litre V6 Dual-VVT-I engine which is good for 208bhp. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and completes the century sprint in 8.1 seconds. The IS hybrid is equipped with the second generation Lexus Hybrid Drive system. It combines an electric motor with a newly-developed 2.5-litre four-cylinder Dual VVT-I engine to produce a total output of 223bhp. Paired with an Electric Continuously Variable Transmission, the IS Hybrid goes from 0 to 100km/h in a respectable 8.5 seconds and returns a fuel consumption figure of 20km/L. All models come equipped with eight SRS airbags and offer eight external body colour selections. Dimension-wise, the new model measures 4,624mm by 2,031mm by 1,429mm (L x W x H). Its closest rival, the BMW 3 Series, is shorter but wider. For more information on the third generation Lexus IS, please refer to the link: http://www.lexus.com.sg/en/models/is/is-250.html
  15. Lexus will return to Salon Prive later in September this year to showcase its industry-leading range of full hybrid models. It will have a special focus on the F Sport versions of its cars, which combine sportier styling and performance with the peerless luxury, craftsmanship and advanced technologies that are associated to the Lexus brand. Among the line up will be the IS 300h F Sport, representing Lexus's all new sports saloon. Adopting Lexus Hybrid Drive technology for the first time, the new IS presents the latest interpretation of Lexus's L-finesse design philosophy. The effect is even more pronounced in the F Sport, with a stronger rendering of the spindle grille design and styling cues inside and out that take reference from the Lexus LFA supercar. As it delivers increased driving pleasure, the IS 300h achieves CO2 emissions from 99g/km and an official combined cycle fuel economy of 27.9km/L at the same time . It will be joined by the new GS 450h F Sport, representing the fourth generation of Lexus's luxury sports saloon. The GS's hybrid system combines a 288bhp V6 petrol engine with a compact but powerful electric motor. The GS 450h F Sport can accelerate from rest to 100km/h in less than six seconds and progress to a 249km/h top speed despite emitting a modest 141g/km of CO2. The Lexus RX - the original luxury SUV - has been consistently refined and developed over the years to the current RX 450h. It will be present at Salon Prive in F Sport trim too, demonstrating how Lexus has successfully interpreted its sporting theme across its full model range. Common with all current Lexus hybrids, the RX allows the driver to select different drive modes to prioritise fuel and emissions efficiency or performance, according to personal preference or driving conditions, including an EV mode for all-electric running with zero tailpipe emissions and fuel consumption. The LS 600h Premier is the flagship of the Lexus range, a limousine rich in advanced technologies and luxury features. The innovations include the world-first Lexus Climate Concierge, which maintains an ideal cabin environment by monitoring the individual facial temperature of each occupant to determine appropriate co-ordination of the ventilation, heating, heated seats and heated steering wheel. With handcrafted finishes, a supremely smooth V8 hybrid powertrain and a cabin designed for optimum comfort, the LS 600h fulfills Lexus' mission to deliver a world-class limousine.
  16. A car caught fire at the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) Saturday afternoon. The car, believed to be a black Lexus sports model, was near the PIE Clementi Road exit in the Tuas to Changi direction. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it received a call at about 3.10pm concerning a vehicle on fire at the expressway. It sent a fire engine and a red Rhino to the scene, and firemen extinguished the fire with one water jet. SCDF said no one was injured. Investigation into the cause of the fire is underway. 18. Have you ever wondered why the 2012 FD Champion, Daigo Saito, can't be seen drifting his Achilles Radial Lexus SC430 at the moment? Well, it's because this professional Japanese drifter is currently busy with this Dodge Challenger, a muscle car from the country of Uncle Sam, at the Ebisu Circuit. But if you think this is just a normal American muscle car, well, think again. The said Dodge Challenger
  19. The 2013 Lexus GS will be unveiled tomorrow, but the first undisguised pictures have already hit the web. Looking like an enlarged IS with an hourglass grille, the production model has a sporty front fascia, LED-infused headlights and a dynamic rear end. Additionally, the cabin is slated to feature premium leather seats, a three-spoke steering wheel and a 12.3-inch infotainment system. Under the hood, engine options will likely include a 3.5-liter V6, a hybridized 3.5-liter V6 and possibly a four-cylinder diesel for Europe. Source: auto.sina.com.cn via Autoblog
  20. [extract] On Monday, the 25th of February 2013, the annual Budget statement was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Tharman Shanmugaratnam. He announced a lot of stuff to what people call 'Robin Hood' budget, taxing the more affluent people to aid the poor. Among the announcements, one was regarding the tiered ARF structure
  21. Want a reliable driving machine that provides stress-free ownership? The recent 2013 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study by J.D Power suggests that you should get yourself a Lexus. In the study, Lexus came out on top with a score of 71 problems per 100 vehicles. Owners of three-year-old cars of various makes were asked to mention the problems they had with their vehicles in the last 12 months. Porsche took up second position after Lexus while Lincoln and Toyota tied for the third spot with a score of 112 PP 100. The overall average stands at 126 PP 100. The lowest 5 spots were taken up by Volkswagen, Jeep, Mitsubishi, Dodge and Land Rover. For individual models, the Lexus RX (above) had the highest dependability with just 57 problems per 100 vehicles, marking the first time in the survey an SUV came up on top. J.D. Power commented that 54% of owners who don't experience any problems with their vehicles stay with that brand for their next purchase. That loyalty rate slips to 41% when three or more problems are experienced.
  22. Late last year, there was some speculation about Lexus preparing with a new model when the Japanese luxury automaker filed a trademark for a "Lexus RC350." If we were to look at the RC part of the trademark, this suggests that the new model will most likely be a coupe, just like the company
