  1. As the above. I saw this at Changi Airport today. Seems to be a Malaysian registered car, cos the car dealer stated at the license plate seems to be a Malaysian dealer.

    Car license plate

My front license plate is cracked. Any idea where to go to get a new one and how much does one cost? Thanks.
  3. Advantage:- - Driver more matured which can mean safer road? - Yearly number of new drivers reduced (at least in the first year of having the new rule), number of new cars likely to reduce also ---- less congestion? - Less ah siahs driving daddy/family's car... less road congesiton? Disadvantages:- ??
  4. Hi Guys, Need some help on the following, my cousin is coming back from US for a month or so, and he wants to drive around in Singapore but his license is a US license, is it valid to use in SG? Or does he need to do any conversion or something? Also can recommend any car rental that offer good price for car rental, it will be for a month or so, don't think he will drive to Malaysia, mainly in Singapore only. Thanks in advance for all the replies. Cheers
  5. Hello all, I've seen quite a few cars on the road sporting some sort of license plate that reflects rainbow colours. Example (taken from stomp): http://static.stomp.com.sg/site/servlet/li...e-thumbnail.jpg Seems illegal right? But according to LTA guidelines at http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onem...ence_plate.html So technically speaking, it SHOULD be ok since it conforms to regulation. There's nothing in there that says the license plate CANNOT be coated in such material. Anybody using these plates got pulled over by TP/LTA before?

  12. From ST: http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/S...ory_681216.html NSF with no licence showed 'wilful disregard' of road rules By Selina Lum A FULL-TIME national serviceman out to impress his girlfriend on her birthday in December 2009 borrowed a friend's car to drive her home - never mind that he had no driving licence. Edwin Lin Kangming, then 20, floored the accelerator and blazed down Seletar Expressway at 127kmh at just past 1am on Christmas Day, catching the attention of two Traffic Police officers. They gave chase on their motorcycles, lights flashing and sirens blaring, and still Lin did not pull over. Instead, he went faster, swerved in and out of lanes, ran two red lights, drove against the flow of traffic for a short stretch, and even caused one of the police bikes to crash into metal railings. Lin stopped only when other vehicles ahead of him stopped at a red light on Woodlands Avenue 1, and was arrested. He was recently sentenced to six weeks' jail, fined $3,000 and barred from driving for three years. He pleaded guilty to seven charges: speeding, failing to stop on the orders of a police officer, dangerous driving, driving without a valid licence, driving without insurance, failing to stop in an accident, and failing to render aid in an accident. Read the full story in Saturday's edition of The Straits Times. Luckily he did not get anyone, including himself, GF, her siblings & others, killed during his rash act. Only a pursuing TP was hurt in the process. Really stupid to pull a stunt like that to impress the GF. The friend who lent him the car will most probably kena for failing to ensure that he has a valid license...
