  3. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/halogen-light-bulbs-to-be-phased-out-all-lamps-sold-to-be-as-10866584 SINGAPORE: In an effort to spur consumers to switch to energy efficient bulbs, the National Environment Agency (NEA) is raising what is known as the Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) of light bulbs, which will effectively phase out halogen lamps. The agency is aiming for all light bulbs in Singapore to be, minimally, as energy efficient as LED bulbs from 2023 onwards, it said in a media release on Friday (Oct 26). Under the current MEPS regulations, halogen or incandescent bulbs, which account for about 5 per cent of all regulated lamps sold in Singapore, must attain a one-tick rating, and LED bulbs must attain a two-tick rating. From Nov 1, 2019, all bulbs, incandescent or LED, must attain a two-tick rating on their Energy Label when brought into Singapore for sale. Anyone who flouts the MEPS regulations when they come into force will be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding S$10,000. The NEA will also introduce two enhancements to the Mandatory Energy Labelling Scheme (MELS) - more than 80 per cent of lamps sold in Singapore will be covered, and displaying of energy labels in all publicity materials, physical or digital, is now mandatory. These will take effect on Nov 1, 2019. “It is important for consumers to be able to differentiate energy-saving products, such as LED lamps, from less energy efficient products," said Mr William Song, the sales marketing head at LEDVANCE, a lighting supplier. "This allows them to make informed choices and benefit from the greater durability, light quality and lower energy consumption of LED lamps, which results in cost savings for families in the long run.

  8. Hello guys I have two problems below! Hope someone can help me! 1)My signal indicator had a problem! Most of the time when I on the signal to either side, at first it will flash and giving clicking sound (NORMAL). After few seconds it will stop flashing and no clicking sound too (THE SIGNAL LIGHT IS STILL ON EXCEPT FLASHING). What's wrong with that? 2)I noticed that my dashboard meter light was getting dim when I switched on the headlight at night time. I had just changed new battery!
  9. Hi: For safety, anyone know how to set the "small light" to auto-on each time when we switch on the engine? Fyi, this car did not have the light auto-on function. Any setting we can set to the car? Thanks.
  10. Hi All, Like to seek advise from bros/sis here, the Engine and AT light turned on earlier this year (Jan) and I cleared it using torque. It happened once in a while then, so I visited a workshop and they recommended changing the AT oil and monitor which I did. (car mounted kerb few weeks before, so not sure if it can cause this although we didn't see any physical damage undercarriage) Btw the gearbox was replaced with a recon unit when I extended the COE in end 16. It seemed ok until recently (start of this month), both lights will turn on whenever I move off from the carpark at the start of the day. The gear shifting is a little jerky from 1 to 2 and from 2 to 3 and then stucked at gear 3 where the lights will turn on. I will then clear the error and continue driving (sometimes it happened another 2-3 times) and once it managed to hit gear 4, then everything will be fine. I noticed this happens when the car is parked for quite some time(I seldom drive the car).If I had been driving around for the day, then the chances of the lights coming up is very low. The error code is P0715 which points Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit. As the error became consistent, I sent it to two workshops to check 2 days ago and both told me that chances is the ECU and the worst case is the gear box. But after googling around, some say is the TCM which sound more logical. Thus, I would like to seek opinions from experts here whether it is more of an electrical or mechanical fault and if there are any good workshops to recommend. (these 2 workshops say it's not the speed sensor which the error code indicated though) Thanks!

  22. I am having an issue with my 07 WRX recently. When stopping at traffic light for a long time, my ABS light comes on intermittently and when it does, my voltmeter reading drops below 10 and my radio goes off. After a while the voltmeter reading will go up, the ABS light goes off and the radio comes back on. When moving off, the car feels like there is a loss of power momentarily and will lurch forward for a bit if the ABS light is still on. Once I hit normal speeds the problem disappears. Once in a while the Check Engine Light will come on too. I sent it to a workshop today, and I ended up paying $50 for them to just tell me that there is some part that is probably failing, but there is no way for them to know until there is a permanent light. As the car is going to be scrapped next year, I don't want to spend $$$ on a wild goose chase to fix this problem. But at the same time I am driving Grab at night, so when the car lurches forward it's not comfortable for the passengers as well. I just got this car recently in April. Anyone experienced something similar before and can give advice? Have a short video here of the problem happening (pardon poor quality)https://youtu.be/t77PVht05GA
  23. Does anybody knows what is the blue blinking light along NSH for? I noticed not only on NSH but some town in MY have it too...
  24. I was on my way to watch Ip Man 3 at Shaw Centre on 1st Jan at around 445pm. Was waiting at the junction of Scotts Road and Stevens Road/Draycott Road to turn right to park my car at Shaw Centre. When the light turned green, there was this City Cab driver who beat the red light and I almost got into accident with him. I won't upload the video as I am having issues with my video editing software, but I suppose the 3 pics are sufficient to illustrate and the 3rd picture shows the light is green in my favour. It gave me a fright but it didn't stop me from enjoying Donnie Yen wing chun moves. =))
