  2. Hi bros.. I'm a relatively new driver. Last night i drove back home from jurong pt along boon lay way along the left lane. It was red light at the junction at boonlay way and corporation road and I stopped behind a car at the left lane. The red light remained and the green turn left arrow appeared. The car in front of me turned left and i headed forward because i thought that the traffic light turned green as well (when it was still red, which was a very stupid mistake i made, no excuse for that). Is it possible for a red light camera to be active when the green turn left arrow is on together with red light? Is there a red light camera at that particular junction? or anywhere along boon lay way near jurong pt? How long will it take for the letter to reach me if i am caught by the camera? I am in deep regrets for the potential dangers or road hazards I could have caused for this mistake and I will make sure this incident will nvr happen again.

  8. HI guys, I have a IKEA lamp with a dimmer function. The bulb (see below) that comes with it is super hot. I asked my nearby hardware shop and they said the LED bulb they sell can fit into the lamp head, but it cannot work with dimmer. If I adjust the dimmer, the bulb may blow. Why is that so? What bulb should I change to and where can buy? My main objective is to change to a not hot bulb.
  9. Dear all, Need some help over here. Anybody replaced the above before? Any idea how much it would cost and can it be DIY? Got one workshop told me need to replace the whole meter

  12. Hi, My car's left signal light stays on when I lock the doors with the remote key. I have to unlock and lock again to make the signal light turn off. This problem only happens intermittently. I am afraid if I forgot to make the signal light goes off, it will drain the battery. Anyone has any idea why this problem occurs? Rdgs.

  18. AS MANY as 110 errant drivers were caught running the red light in school zones in the first six months of this year alone. That translates to an average of nearly five cases a week. Drivers were also caught for other offences in school zones, such as speeding and tailgating. The Traffic Police gave these updates in response to queries from The Straits Times. Since January, road safety in school zones has been beefed up with harsher punishments, after two brothers were killed by a truck in Tampines last year. Nigel Yap, 13, was cycling across the road with Donavan, seven, who was riding pillion, when the driver hit them. The police did not have a breakdown of the number of offences committed within school zones before the law was toughened earlier this year. Those who run a red light in a school zone will get 13 demerit points - one more than before. For drivers with less than a year's experience, it means their licences will be revoked as they have exceeded the maximum of 12 demerit points in one year. Speeding was the second most common offence in these demarcated areas. Within the first six months of this year, 23 summonses were issued against speedsters who exceeded the 50kmh limit. The Land Transport Authority lowered speed limits outside 10 primary schools to 40kmh in January as part of a pilot project which will be rolled out to more schools progressively. In the first six months of this year, there were also eight cases of inconsiderate driving and 17 instances of careless driving. Examples include tailgating and sudden lane switches. There are more than 300 school zones at primary and secondary schools. MP for Tampines GRC Baey Yam Keng said drivers should keep a lookout at all times in school zones, not just at dismissal hours. "There are schoolchildren who are coming and going all the time. Some of them stay back for CCA (co-curricular activities), some are waiting for their parents. It's alarming and worrisome the number is so high." Nurse May Tan, 52, mother of three, said: "I always remind my kids not to take for granted that green light means 'go', and to watch out for speeding cars. I tell them, 'This involves your life'." 20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6ITQJ-6rzE&list=UUHfZ-UiEr-DtPjWIYO7DAEA I thot my eyes are playing trick on me till I review the DVR. This is along YCK road. Be careful guys. will send this to LTA so that they can fix it before someone gets hurt.
  21. do u notice that many road junctions traffic light timing are very poorly timed. think what LTA do is to just use a standard timer i come across so many minor roads are given very long durations in the favour of green light while a long que of cars on the major road 1 is the new junction along jalan kayu the green light timing given to that minor road on the left leading to some nursery are very long lta officers are zzzz on the job when come to increase ERP rates they are very efficent really chiak liow bee
