  8. given the wet wet weather we have been having, i too have had a few close shaves but me wife and myself have been having this little argument...wonder if anyone here can shed some light on the matter are we suppose to switch on the hazard lights when driving in heavy rainfall? i personnaly think it is quite dangerous cos then no way to indicate drivers turning indication...(but then again maybe these drivers don't even use turn signals sigh... ) my wife says it is taught in driving schools? what is the reason for this then (if true)?
  9. Dear fellow drivers, As our vehicles age, due to high COE + due to 40% DP required + etc, please ensure that your tail lights and at least 2 of your your brake lights are working! Just these few days alone, I have come across more than 10 cars with 2 or ALL brake lights not working. I have already tried my best to inform these drivers when we stopped along side at junctions. But there is only so much I can do. Please, check your brake lights. This is how you can check your tail lights and brake lights by yourself if you have no one else to check for you. 1) When reverse-parked in front of a wall, off your lights and observe the wall behind. Switch on your headlights and check your side mirrors. The 2 corners of your car rear should have red light casted on the wall. To check your brake lights, switch off your headlights. Step on the brake and check the side mirrors to see there is red light casted on the wall. 2) When stopped in front of buses (and some big lorries/truck), check your rearview mirror and look at the reflection of your car rear on the windscreen of the bus behind. You can see if your brake lights are working. Please ensure your tail lights and brake lights are working. This is for your safety and for others safety as well!
  10. I am driving a MPV and when doing parking at a dimly area, difficult to see the parking lot marking lines on both sides. The reverse lights are not bright enough for such purpose and only shine at the rear. I had seen MPV's installed with LED light at both sides of the rear wheels mudguard and when they engage reverse gear, both side lighted up and can see the side lines of a parking lot. Any brother here got any shop(s) lobang to recommend for installation of LED light on rear wheels mudguard. Thanks for sharing.

  15. Anyone can recommend me a place to change my altis cabin lighting to led bulbs? Preferably philips one as they seems more reliable. Or where can I buy my own to change if it's not too difficult?
  16. Asking for a friend. These lights turned 'ON' after his wife skidded ( but didnt lose control). Now even after resetting ecu and disconnecting battery supply. A shop said his brake accumulator is damaged and need to be changed at a cost of 4ks. Anyone had this problem before? TIA.
  17. What do you do? I usually try to indicate to the driver by using the 'twinkle twinkle star' hand signal, but 2 recent incidents is making me think twice. The first time after indicating to the driver, the driver turn on the head lights, wind down his window and show me the finger. The second, which just happened, the driver kept flashing his high beam at me and tailgate me for a considerable distance. Wrong to indicate driver he forgot to turn on his head lights?
  18. Yes, all 3 of them not working. what will you do? I happened to be behind one dark coloured lancer earlier along CTE to town on the rightmost lane, after a while realised that the situation. Feel damned pissed off at the inconsiderate driver and as the traffic was quite heavy for a typical late Sat morning, I quickly filter to the left lane and I am almost reaching my exit. I have encountered cars with one or two faulty brakelights, and even one with brakelights permanently on (don't know what's the deal with that) but really is the first time to meet one with all not working. Guess some owners are getting more bo chap as their cars are getting older. Be careful out there.
  19. Hey bros... my servicing is next month. However, today when i started my engine, the picnic's ABS light is hard on while driving. i guess something's wrong. Need to take immediate action or just relax jack till my servicing?

  21. Yesterday, was behind this Hyundai Santa Fe along CTE (North) around 3:30pm. Traffic a bit jam as people are leaving work and some more no ERP. After a while, noticed that the car's brake lights are ALL TOTALLY NOT WORKING. I was quite annoyed, I mean, one or even 2 brake lights not working still ok but all three. Really feel that the fella is an inconsiderate driver. THANKFULLY, after a while, the fella changed lane and went on his "jolly" way. Must say he is also an excellent lane changer. Sorry, no pics or vids, a bit chui gong lan pa song, I know, but there is how I can see it. HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!
  22. Usually after my car detailing, it would be night and surrounding low lights makes it quite impossible to perform a good paintwork inspection? Any suggestions and link to images would be helpful ! Also cost sensitive ! Thanks.
  23. During the past few weeks, I have encountered a few times the traffic lights flashing red or yellow. I thought the traffic lights must be faulty and just drove through cautiously when the traffic was clear. This morning the lights were flashing red in my direction and flashing yellow in the other direction, is it an offense to cross? This was at the Selegie-Bk Timah junction - the one with the red light camera to catch left turning and straight red-light beaters. Kena before years ago I am wary of this junction.
  24. Hi bros anyone knows where I can install those triangular Formula 1 style brake lights.. saw some kits advertised on ebay or amazon but bad reviews often accompany the products..for not being waterproof etc Any workshops here can do the sales and installation properly? Regards
