  1. Can someone tell me whether this will pass the LTA inspection?
  2. Hi all, recently i have managed to change the backlight colour for my dashboard and indicator lights of my matrix to white and purple (all thanks to Redlavita! He spent quite alot of time explaining to me his DIY experience and demo how to change a LED! ) Last week i have also managed to install 2 LED Strips at the leg room for driver and passenger sit, tapping the driver door light (the one on the bottom right). But this will only works if the driver door is open I want to try when i unlock the door, the light will turn on. does any bro here have any ideas how to do it?
  3. Hi Bros, Helping a friend who have an Accord ask a question. He wishes to change the rear lights and brake lights to LED from his current Bulb type. Anyone tried it before? And Can recommend a place?

    Where to get them here?
  5. Growing numbers of motorists have been caught running red lights, Traffic Police figures revealed on Thursday. There were 5,400 such violations between January and March this year, 800 more than in the same period last year. The issue was thrust into the spotlight last month following two serious accidents at the Victoria Street-Rochor Road junction in Bugis. Both allegedly involved cars running the red light. The number of such cases has been on the rise in recent years. There were 17,490 in the whole of last year, up from 17,180 in 2010. 6. Thinking of getting LED but any feedbacks from bros here who has them in the house?
  7. Hi guys. I've just installed a relay on my third brake light today to make it blink when braking. Any one seen one of these on the roads yet? I just wanna ask for ur views, whether do u think its distracting or a good warning signal. Basically its just a controller which makes ur current LED third/center brake light blink when the brakes are pushed. Basically its the similar concept as the one on the new RX-8 . What do u guys think?
  8. Yoz. want to share something and also to see got any advice anot. yesterday night was second time i kana rear-ended at complete stop at traffic lights. let me share.. 6 months ago, a BMW rear ended me at low speed while i was at complete stop at cuppage. driver come out declare no damage. throw me a name card and refuse to show me driving licence. not one word of sorry. smelt alcohol on his breath. die die say i no proof cuz no damage. it was so dark and he insist no damage. refuse my offer of stopping at somewhere bright to thorough check and test reverse sensor. very aggressively ask me to drive off not to hold up traffic. I drove off and call police cuz he smell alcohol. end of story. yesterday night at jalan kayu i complete stop at traffic lights. many seconds later felt a thud. preg wife and 2 yr old baby inside. all ok lucky. went out and lady driver keep saying sorry and offered to give me hp number. to call her if anything wrong. keep saying sorry. i check again. again no dents. I took a photo of her driving licence and also her car plate and exchanged hp number and drove off. she very concerned about if my family is ok. now the thing is this. in daylight, i notice a half centermeters paint chipped off and a last finger fingernail size shallow dent at bottom of bumper. and when she knock yesterday, kopi spill on seat and carpet and cup holding console! I can live with the chipped paint( but metal exposed) and 1cm square dent. so if i am not repairing, i do not think i want her to pay anything. but kopi kana really caused me a lot of trouble and time. I pour a lot of water on carpet and seat but still smell of coffee... haiz... very bad situation. because of her poor driving skills i kana so much inconvinence and the "damage" she caused I will not be repairing so will not be asking her to pay anything. but since paint chipped and metal exposed, can i ask her to buy me a spot paint marker to cover the exposed metal in case rust? but like that like very petty hor? spot paint marker how much huh?
  9. sometime i see ppl sitting at the traffic lights taking down notes, seems like a survey or something. what exactly are they doing?
  10. Is it legal for cyclist to cycle across traffic lights? Sometime ago, I remember reading a column on the papers saying that it is against the law. Because sometimes when cyclist cycle across traffic lights at green man or at the zebra crossing, the cars have to calculate the time taken to slow down according to their speed. This is different from slowing down because of pedestrians. It can be dangerous when the cyclist is going at a fast speed. anyone can comment?
  11. A video was recently posted online, alleging that a HDB block may be haunted. The shaky video, at nearly eight minutes long, is titled "Government build a Haunted HDB flat". The flat in question is Blk 279, at Toh Guan Road. In the video, the block is quiet, and indeed looks quite eerie as the lights in the block, including at the ground floor, lift lobby and stairwell, constantly flicker on and off. There are no spirits captured in the video, and it could well be an anti-government statement to criticise the authorities on what appears to be faulty lights in the whole block. Others speculate that the video could be an attempt to make people think that the estate is "unclean", which may lower the value of the flat. This is because the flats at Toh Guan Road are the priciest in the Jurong East area. For the residents though, the inconvenience is real, as some say they are frustrated with the problem, suspected to be caused by faulty circuits. One resident, Xu Rui Juan (53, housewife) says that the flickering lights in the area makes it quite scary at night when residents return home. See the video here:
  12. Happened today at 4pm near Serangoon First Centre!

  15. Hi all, I ever came across a site that shows car model (like the one made from tomica) that place on the dashboard of the car. The unique thing is the car toy model is links to your headlight and signal lights ie eg when you on the right signal of your actual car, the right signal of the car mode will light up, likewise to the headlight. It looks cool. Any body know who to do it? Thanks in advance.
  16. Hi, Need some help here. My taillight bulb has blown and need a replacement. Read the menu for the part number which says 12/5w. The ones I found are T10. Are the connectors supposed to be universal? Also getting standby bulbs for my dome and passenger lights. Your advice will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  17. Hi all, I starting this thread to let other drivers know and be aware of other vehicles spotted on the road with either only 1 or no(zero) brake light working. These vehicle can easily cause accident to the driver behind. I spotted a silver taxi, SHD1310H, on sunday morning. It had no working brake lights at all. I followed it 2 junctions and videoed it. Video as from my youtube on it.
  18. hey guys am driving a Aveo Sedan, wanna change my headlight n fog light to those white ligths so as to travel in malaysia road.Any idea where to fix n any place which is good workmanship n cheap?thnx
  19. I have never received a pass for head light inspections since first inspection donkey years ago. Not even with cars without accident and my current car with auto focus headlights.
  20. Do you think it should be mandatory for bicycles on the road to have head lights and tail lights as well as helmets? Cause I drive along pasir panjang road regularly and notice that there are many bicycles along the road w/o any lights. Some at least have some reflectors, others have nothing as all. IF the bicycles are black and they are wearing dark colour shirt, its difficult to spot them from a distance. Worse, some are even riding against traffic! In the past, I believe bicycles are not exactly common on the road. But now, I notice that there are more and more bicycles on the road and most do not have any proper lighting of any kind. The cyclists also have no protection of any kind (not even a basic bicycle helmet). Thus if they get in accident, they are going to have serious injuries to their heads. Perhaps, its time to have some form of regulations for cyclists in order to make the road safer for them as well as us.
  21. Its about the Orchard Boulevard again. I just realised why I was caught speeding. Its due to traffic lights. Before the cross junction (the one at wheelock place), there is another junction (exit from MRT) which pedestrians used to cross to get to the bus stop. The lights at wheelock place junction will turn green while the MRT exit one is read. Thus if you do not chiong fast enough (around 70-80), you will not get thru. Today, I saw several cars making thru the junction at high speeds. For me, well, of course i don't dare to try....I don't know if there is someone hiding or not. If have, GG to those cars. The place is like a trap, enticing drivers to chiong thru the green lights catching them for speeding....Just becareful......OF course, what is just a wide road having just 50KM/H limit is something I don't understand as well. then Grange Road is somewhat wierd.......As i turn into Grange Road, I will see a 60 sign after Tanglin Road junction. At the Botanical Gardens junction, I will then see a 70 sign with speed camera warning. Just right after the speed camera, there will be signs telling you to slow down due to bends. After the bends, no speed signs till I exit at Farrer Road. So, I have no idea whats the speed limit after the camera as well. Sorry, I am just getting confused by all these signs....
  22. Does anyone knows if changing stock pole light & forlights to Philips 4300K legal or rather able to pass annual inspection?

  24. Attacker grabbed my GF after turning off lights at Parklane toilet STOMPer Robin's girlfriend was attacked in a toilet near a cyber cafe at Parklane Shopping Mall at about 1.35am on Nov 29. The attacker reportedly turned off the toilet lights and tried to grab his girlfriend's legs after forcing open the cubicle door. The person ran off after the STOMPer's girlfriend screamed and kicked the attacker. The cyber cafe was the same one where a fight broke out between teenage gamers last month. Robin relates the incident: "I wish to share this story with the rest so that it acts as a deterrence or preventive measure for future incidents. "On Sunday night (Nov 28), I was with my girlfriend and some other friends at a LAN shop called Aquarius, the same LAN shop where some gamers were involved in a fight after a gaming session. "We were playing DOTA from 9pm onwards till about 1.35am, when the incident happened in the ladies toilet on the same floor. "At about 1.35am, my girlfriend told me she was going to the toilet, and she has been going to the toilet alone most of the time before this incident happened. "About 3 minutes later, my girlfriend called my handphone and was crying over the phone. "Sensing that something terrible must have happened, I rushed over to the toilet and saw her crying at the entrance of the female toilet, where the lights were off. "She quickly told me that someone had switched off the toilet lights and tried to grab her legs after kicking open her toilet cubicle door. "She told me she started kicking and screaming and tried her best to shut the door back by kicking furiously at the attacker. "The attacker tried to further assault her by lunging forward to grab her by her hips but was kicked away and the door was shut. The attacker then ran away. "The response was to get hold of security and to ask for video recordings of the webcam that was planted near the entrance of the toilet. "The security personnel resisted and said they would only release the footage after a police report had been made. "About 20 minutes later, the police arrived to take our statements and carried out their 'usual' investigation procedures. "After the whole process of taking down statements etc, we were advised to contact an officer who was in charge of the the investigation. "Two days later, I called up this in officer-in-charge, only to find out that he was on medical leave, and I was asked to contact him the next following day. "My best guess of the next progression of the case is that they couldn't get good footage of the culprit, and the case will therefore drag and nothing will come to light. "Some of my concerns: is Singapore really safe enough?"
