Move over EZ-Link, the new smartcard, stickkey, has arrived. According to The Straits Times, this pint-sized card - about the size of a stamp - is slated for a trial run early next year, and if succesful, could be available in MRT stations soon enough. The stickkey, while small, could serve multi purposes for the user - to pay bus fares, buy groceries, unlock doors and can also be attached to cellphones, making it a much handier tool. However, The Straits Times highlighted that while EZ-Link cards expire in 5 years, the stickkey lasts up to 11.5 Years The home-grown company behind the innovation, Fast Innovations Asia, told The Straits Times it is working with the Land Transport Authority, SMRT, SBS Transit and EZ-Link on the pilot project. But the public transport operators, though, said they were only in talks with the start-up. This creation was employed at the recent Singapore Fashion Festival in March, functioning as access cards for VIPs.

Hi! today I discovered that the shell station near 2nd link is more expensive than any other station in malaysia. i made my trip to perlis on last saturday and all the way i was pumping v-power. the price is RM3.15/ litre. until today when i was coming hm, i pump at 2nd link at surprisingly that it was RM3.50. why like that har? i tot the price shld be standard in whole malaysia, rite? sigh! am i being conned? so frustrated looking at the lsst receipt. any bro or sis got the same experience

Passenger cars using the Second Link route will have to pay RM10.80 (S$4.60) next year, compared with RM8.40 now, The Sun newspaper quoted Works Minister S. Samy Vellu as saying. Rates will also go up at two other Johor toll booths. At the Perling toll, passenger cars will have to pay RM2.30 compared with RM1.80 now. And at the Lima Kedai booth, the toll will be increased to RM3.90 from RM3.10. The government also announced a rise in toll charges for several minor highways by between 7 per cent and 50 per cent from Jan 1. They include a highway that links Malaysia to Thailand, and one that links Seremban to the Port Dickson seaside town. The rise in the toll rates is part of contractual obligations the government signed with companies that built and manage the highways. But significantly, Datuk Seri Samy said the government will delay an increase in toll charges on the country's busiest highway, the North-South Expressway, in a move some see as aimed at pleasing voters ahead of a general election. The highway, operated by state-controlled Plus Expressways, runs for 966km from Johor Baru to the Thai border. But he denied the decision to delay the toll rate increase by a year was a pre-election ploy. 'If we take into account elections, it would be free (to use the roads),' he told reporters. 'We do not want to burden highway users.' The government also delayed toll rises for four other highways, and will instead pay the five concession companies RM344 million as compensation. I noticed there's this ta ta sound coming from the front when I turned my car and brake at the same time (normal turning speed abt 20~30km/hr). I sent in to SA, said need to check. Next day, told me the problem came from the link rod and they have replaced the front left one. Previously (last yr), I heard ta ta sound when I cross over the hump early morning. Went in, SA changed the bushings from the stabiliser. I nagged at the CSO. He told me from records, I did not go back for my 30k servicing and hence they can void my warranty. They have also sent the faulty part to the manufacturer to see what they say.....sort of hinted that it is difficult to say it's manufacturer fault because I did not do my 30k servicing with them and they orginally wanted me to do the 30k servicing. Else, replacement will not be FOC but they did it out of good will. They advised me to go back to them for the 40k. Ok, end of side story....is this some suspension fault? They don't check link rod and bushings during servicing, or do they?? Items such as link rod should not go so fast if I never go over humps at high speed or off road right? What makes the link rod and bushings go prematurely? Wild thought....the price that we pay for our car includes cost of the warranty that the agent give right? Can I ask them to re-fund me the warranty cost from the car price if I didn't want it???

For 850/70 series Volvos: Guys, this darn link rod causes rattling sound when passing through uneven roads. The rod ends are relatively weak so replacement of the whole rod is necessary as it's joint together The part no. is 1387860, there is news that it's being revised and superceded by another part #. I'll be checking with SM motors about it soon.
